Fox River Granite & Marble

I was referred to Fox River Granite via a mom group, and I have nothing but great things to say…read moreabout David and his team. Consider this your mom friend recommendation. I got several estimates from general contractors to renovate our entire home, but ultimately I decided to go with this company based on the recommendation and the open, honest, and (most importantly) comfortable communication. This is something that should strongly be considered since you're going to be back and forth with this person multiple times a day. David is not only knowledgeable in the industry, he's very honest and fair (a rarity in the contracting world). They literally helped me achieve my home dreams and went above and beyond with customer satisfaction. Some of the things I requested weren't possible to achieve but they always figured a workaround that not only worked, but looks amazing. The tile work they did on my bathroom is flawless -- and I picked a design that is very difficult to achieve. They fixed the entire interior of my home and we are over the moon with how it turned out. I'm definitely referring Fox River Granite to all of my friends and family and turning to them for any future projects.

I have bought a few counter tops from this company over the years. My current countertop will be…read morethe last time I ever do business with this company. We picked out a counter but it took a week for them to get our check to clear the bank. After that, another week went by and no word about install date. When I called, you can't leave a message because they're voice mailbox is always full. If you try to contact them online, there's an error that won't let you do that either. I got ahold of someone on 1/12/26 and they said it was scheduled for 1/16/25 between 8-9am. I called back and asked if we could get it installed sooner because no one could be there that day. They said they would find out and call me back. I never heard back from them so I figured they would come out on the regular scheduled day. Around noon on 1/16/25 I called and asked when they were coming because I took the day off in order to be there. The installer texted me and said it was rescheduled for 1/19/26 because he was told 1/16/26 was cancelled by the customer. I told him I never cancelled anything. Someone was supposed to contact me but never did! The installer said he would see what he could do and he would call me back. He never did!! I never heard a word from anyone all weekend. I called them at 10am on 1/19/26 to find out when it was going to be installed. They said between 11am and noon. I won't hold my breath. I have dealt with lots of contractors and vendors over the years because we have several rentals, but this lack of customer service is pretty bad. This will be the last time we use them or refer anyone to them.

Chip's Kitchens & Baths

Chip's Kitchens & Baths

Five Star (Highest Review) Summary: We are very happy with Chip's full kitchen and breakfast nook…read moreremodel. High quality cabinet workmanship, honesty, professionalism, attentiveness, outstanding advice/guidance on design, and favorable contractual payment schedules for peace of mind protection (given an industry known for excessive delays, quality issues, incompletion), high value given the project cost, and military-like coordination of workers to complete on time. Cabinets can be 40% of any remodel. We selected Chip's because they are unique among remodelers because they build their custom wood cabinets from scratch and "bake" them at their company owned facility. The advantage are cabinets designed to be fully utilized, compared to preset factory sizes (that use spacers to fill gaps). Further, the offsite baker allows a higher quality finish and longer performing cabinet, than painting at the house. We are very happy with quality of the construction of the cabinets, the sheen silky smooth feel, and the look. Lastly, if any damage in the future would occur from wear and tear, it will be easy as a phone call to replace, as they keep our kitchen cabinet specs in the database for ease of replacement. They have been in business for over 40 years. Organizationally, the courteous workers were at the house continually without material time delays (including Saturdays - per our request). We have heard plenty of stories of other remodelers that overbook at the expense project completion. They store all the remodeling materials so when they have them they can start and finish the project within the timeline. We also enjoyed several thousands in saving from Chip's discounts received from major retailers for appliances, countertops, fixtures, etc. versus the typical "mark-up" remodelers like to charge. The end result is a high-end quality luxury remodel for a price that provides lots of value that was done on time by very honest and courteous professionals.

We interviewed several contractors for a kitchen renovation and hired Chips based on their design…read moreand some referrals we got from former clients. Cabinet build was 12 weeks as indicated so by far the longest part. Was told it would be 5 weeks from demo to completion and project went just as planned. Very pleased with final product. Our new kitchen gives us so much more storage and is so much more efficient and up to date. Everyone loves the new island and the quartz is beautiful. Would highly recommend Chips and they are next for our bathroom renovation.
