The office space itself is in the third floor of a renovated row home, which has been upgraded and revamped to have a modern feel. Inside, there are 7 half walled cube spaces with ample room in each space to set up your desk area as you see fit. It has all your basic office amenities like coffee, water, fridge, and full bathroom. In addition, you can be as collaborative or as heads down as you need during the day with the other workers in the office space. In general, the office is also pretty quiet except for the occasional train that passes by outside the window, but that's not a big deal. I think the biggest perk is the location. Nestled near many nice Baltimore neighborhoods like Charles Village, Remington, and Hampden, you'll find ample options for coffee, lunch, happy hour and dining out. If I had to nitpick, the only tricky aspect or working here is parking. There are no assigned spaces in the back lot for Exchange employees, so we have to park on the street, usually on 25th street right around the corner, or on St. Paul street out front, if you're lucky. I usually find parking a little more difficult when school is in session. There's an elementary school on the adjacent block so those spots on the street fill up pretty quick. While it's not deal breaker, it's something to keep in mind. Lastly, if you're on the fence about signing up, contact the owner/manager Eve Austin. She's the nicest person to deal with and can give you a tour of the space at your convenience and can accommodate almost any request.

Spark Baltimore has some awesome amenities for $15 a day. You can work anywhere you like across the 2 floors, have unlimited cold brew coffee (which is uh-mazing), can book a phone booth, and get pretty fast wi-fi. While I was there, I was able to take advantage of most of the amenities that the space had to offer. The phone booths (while being located two floors down from the main floor), were comfortable. USB and AC outlets were provided and the light was great for long video or phone calls. The kitchen is pretty nice as well. Both the first and 2nd floors have kitchens. I mostly hung out in the third-floor kitchen, which has the cold brew on tap and some alcohol for members of Spark. The only letdown I experienced with the kitchen was the lack of dishware. If you're planning on bringing your lunch here, just make sure that you bring a microwave-safe dish and utensils. For cups and things that they do have, there is a dishwasher if you prefer to use that. All-in-all, this was such a win! As an added bonus, I was able to hear the bands that I was going to see during their soundcheck from inside the building. That's just super unique and cool!

If you have a disability or health concern, be aware that there are steep steps to get into the building. Someone notified that there was a lift in back, but unfortunately to get to the lift you have to walk through several steep steps in the back patio , which didn't make it any easier access. Upon arrival we were given a notice of when our room would be attended to & cleaned, we made sure to be out during the day & time given only to return & the room had not been cleaned. The final & last straw came when a woman came to our room & told us for everyone else's comfort they were going to turn the air on since as I understood it one cooling & heating for everyone you cannot control the temperature of your room. Because of her turning the air on my husband got very sick , shivering & extremely uncomfortable & very physically ill. It was obvious our health, care , comfort & safety was not a priority. We actually left before our reservation was done & found better , safer accommodations. Maximum expense at minimum comfort, was our expierence here. It seemed to want to be a spa more than a guest accommodation & unfortunately didn't do either very well. You cost us valuable time with our family & loved ones . I'm sorry because I can see that this took time & effort to create, just don't sacrifice guests health & safety . Good neighbor wasn't a good neighbor to us. If you value your health, comfort & safety consider making accommodations elsewhere.

And it was important that we not do it at the conference hotel but in a special, local business, doing good in the community. good neighbor fit the bill and more! The space is more beautiful than all the beautiful pictures you have seen of it and it smells like heaven in Earth. The soundtrack they played was a perfect chill vibe. The local wines were special and earthy. But even more importantly, Mary and the special events team were so responsive and easy to work with. They made the event seamless. It was like we were part of the good neighbor community even though we had just met. You will not regret having an event at good neighbor!

The Engineer's Club is located in the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Mount Vernon. It's the city's oldest private social club, but it hosts events and weddings in addition to serving its membership functions. It was an absolutely stunning venue for an opera. The staircase, the wood, the stage...! If you love architecture, you just have to see it for yourself (may in combination with that other gorgeous building just down the street - you know the one!). Definitely adding it to my list of Baltimore's most beautiful buildings. If you have a chance, don't hesitate to visit for a performance or event. I know I'll be back for another opera next season. They also offer tours, which I am adding to my must do in Baltimore list!

This is only because the space is smaller. There are two floors. The bottom floor looks like where food is usually served and the upstairs is the bar and dance floor. I don't think this setup could work for a large wedding reception since the meal is usually served to everyone together and the downstairs space would not be big enough for everyone to dine together. I also noticed how this place allows outside catering. Not sure if they cater themselves but this is nice and may be an inexpensive option for those looking for a venue to rent where they may want to bring their own food.
