I'm going to be honest, I've only ever been to this place once and it was by complete accident. My girlfriend and I were attempting to get the 332 bus back from Bath to Bristol, when, all of a sudden, we stopped in the middle of nowhere (Longwell Green) and the bus driver told us that this was the end of the line. Not so good. Anyway, finding that we had a good hour-and-a-half to wait until the next bus into the centre was going to arrive, we looked up at The Crown and found our saviour. It didn't seem a bad place, it was warm and the staff were friendly, though you can definitely tell this is a bit of a local pub for local people (think deep-set piggy eyes, prominent brow-lines and the like (I jest!)). The menu is, as you would expect from the Harvester chain, cheap and cheerful. My girlfriend fell for one of the numerous cocktail offers advertised on the back of the menu and instantly regretted it. As for me, I stuck with a good old-fashioned pint, and it was fine. Not the most exciting of places to visit - I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get here, but if you ever get stuck halfway between Bath and Bristol on the 332, then this is the place to go. read more
