I was invited to a birthday party that included ice skating, party room, snowball fight experience…read moreand the service of staff making sure the client had everything for their birthday party going and flowing. Didn't know about this place and they offer a lot of activities. Its a big place with multiple rinks, seating areas, party rooms, and soccer fields outside. They had this cotton candy machine that makes cotton candy into certain shapes and you can choose. My grandson enjoyed that alot. He actually enjoyed it more than we thought. He had his grandpa going to check out the different hockey games going on and watching the people ice skate. Note: it gets cold in there because they have to keep the ice frozen so bring along a warm sweater or jacket to be comfortable especially if you're usually cold. I definitely recommend this place. They also have a special events and public skating times. I plan I checking out one of those events. Im glad we had the opportunity to check this place out.

My overall experience has been declining. The front desk staff appears to be inadequately trained…read more They even messed up my prepaid punch pass and failed to apologize. All prices--for public skating, freestyle sessions, and learn-to-skate lessons--have increased, while the quality has worsened.

Had a great time during the Saturday open skate session from 10:30-11:30. The staff was friendly,…read morewasn't too busy and they had skates for myself / toddler. After the open skate, we hung out in the upper level and watched the next group take the rink.

Are you a dare devil? I tend not to be. In life, I tend to take the safe route...the tried and true…read morepath. However, as I get older and wiser, I tend to branch out in my date Devil adventures...ever so slightly. On my bucket list for a date devil adventure is jumping from a plane. I'm not there yet for parachuting out of a plane. Today, was the big day for what I consider a dare devil adventure.... Ice skating. In my head I repeated this mantra.... Let's go, let's go, let's go!!! You got this. So, sheepishly I walk up to the counter and ask how much the entry fee was...$20 including skates... not cheap but not crazy expensive either. Ok. You can do this. I ask if I sit outside before I go on the ice. No problem the skate representative said. The fee included skating to 1 pm today. I had plenty of time to muster up my courage. Then my mind started to swirl and then spin...fast and faster! Next, I was in a full on Exorcist head turning moment. Girlie, you no spring chicken any more. You are not twenty years old. Why is it so cold in here? Why does it feel like ice is flowing through my veins? Remember when you broke your little toe in two places...exercising.... Ugly boot for three months...no heels for 1.5 years. Run Delores run!!! Your birthday is next month. Do you want to flat heels for your birthday. Nooooooooooooo!!! I jumped up and bolted out of Chaparral Ice like I was being chased my hungry pack of wolves. I applaud myself for trying to be adventurous today. However, I'm not quite there yet. Maybe after my birthday....

COVID-19 has created a space to elevate our date nights from the usual boozy restaurant and bar…read moreactivity. I've been staring at the walls of our home since March and losing my black-ass mind; so something where we could be outside, social distanced, distracted from the insanity of our country, and active was a must. I'm still not sure how I stumbled across Unhooked Sports and eFoiling but I'm so glad that I did. Paul was SUPER responsive to all of my emails was actually able to get us a private lesson for 2 within a week. Boyfriend researched eFoiling online and I was beyond stoked to try it. I was petrified. Until we met Paul at the lake and saw how organized, professional and prepared it all is. Paul provides helmets equipped with microphones and headphones, so he stayed in constant communication with us the entire time. Whether he was reminding us to speed up, lean this way, or just cheering us on; I never felt disconnected. Boyfriend is good at everything and it look him about 5 wipeouts before he picked it up. I never got to my knees, so I ended up having the most exhilarating boogie board experience. It is fun and a surprisingly good work as we're both still sore 4 days later. It is expensive; but consider that each eFoil board retails at $12,000 and we were using 3. There's also the tech for each of the helmets and Paul provided us with lifejackets. If you're into novel, one-of-a-kind activities, then the price tag won't scare you off. The 2 hours we spent outside, on the water, away from the world and having fun was worth it.
