There are over 30 different types of olive oils and vinegars to try!
    Rachel O.

I stopped by thinking I could just run in to grab a hostess gift but was not prepared for all the awesomeness inside! Boyfriend couldn't find parking so I told him to drop me off so I could just grab something. "I'll be right back!" Hahahahaha. No. I walked in to at least 40 different olive oils and vinegars and had to pause near the door since I couldn't decide where to go first. I was greeted as I entered and told that they would be with me in a minute. This gave me some time to wander around. I started checking out the different infused olive oils and someone helped me. She was super nice and explained the tasting process. She sliced some fresh bread for me to use to taste the different olive oils and white vinegars. She also offered me a sample of a brownie that was made with their blood orange infused olive oil. YUMS! I tasted some of the olive oils and decided to get the Persian Lime infused one for me. Wait... didn't I come in here for something else? Oh right! A hostess gift. I mention this and was told you can actually buy an empty bottle and the person can bring it back in and partake of the tasting experience themselves and then select their favorite to fill up their bottle. Sold! Is this not ridiculously awesome? If I got this for a hostess gift I'd be ecstatic! (Hint Hint party goer friends!) It was also at this point that I was told that I could receive a scoop of vanilla ice cream to try the dark vinegars. Say what? I don't know about that. Bread and olive oil? Sure. But ice cream and vinegar? Ew. I'm all about trying something new though. I'm in the process of choosing my first ice cream and vinegar pairing when boyfriend walks in giving some major one eyebrow raised action and I can hear his thoughts... "Just going to run in and out huh? 'I'll be right back' my...." You get the point. I tried to ease his pain by telling him about the ice cream. He also made a face when I suggested the ice cream and vinegar combo but agreed to take the plunge with me. I've apparently been eating ice cream wrong all my life. This was delicious. Obviously you can put the vinegar on other items (the store actually has suggested pairings on their website) but the ice cream is a great way to taste the different flavors. My favorite was the pomegranate and boyfriend and I both liked the blackberry ginger. After this little ice cream tasting, my delay in returning to the car was forgiven and he tried the tasting with the olive oils. We were finally ready to make our purchases. They wrapped my hostess gift up for me and filled our bottle and sealed it for us to take home. Small bottles are $11 or $12. Mediums were about $16 and the large bottles were around $20 I think. They also have some special gift bags and other accessories in the store. Also, if you run your empty bottle through the dishwasher and bring it back they will knock a buck off the cost to refill it. Recycling pays in many ways! We have used our Persian Lime infused olive oil on some shrimp so far and it was absolutely delicious. We only used a tiny bit and not only did it provide a flavor punch but the house smelled wonderful. So while it might be a bit pricey for olive oils it will certainly last a long time. And can you really put a price on quality? No. The Crescent Olive if priceless!

Olive oils, so little that we know but after last night's UYE I was very educated on olive oils! We were able to taste so many flavors of this wonderful product that it just blew me away! We tried oils on ice cream-yes ice cream and it was insanely delicious. But please pay a visit to this store you wpnt be disappointed. Prices and availability varies but go check it out.

Try them all. My favorites were the peach white balsamic, and the fig balsamic. And and and. Delicious. I will definitely keep coming back for my secret ingredients.

Really cool shop. We are visiting and have a olive oil shop like this but it doesn't compare.

I ended up selecting mushroom and sage olive oil, lemon white balsamic vinegar, and lavender red balsamic vinegar.

The service is above par, from checking in to the service at the table, very attentive and quick! The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because the length of the menu, I was thinking more.....but honestly the choices they had will make me come back! I got the waygu burger and it was cooked PERFECTLY, seasoned amazing, the truffle fries were crispy and flavorful, the homemade ranch was some of the best I had, and I honestly loved their smoked ketchup! The place would be even better during the hot months due to their outside seating, so can't wait to try.

The food was pretty good overall, but my chicken salad sandwich was extremely disappointing. The croissant was very dry, and the shredded chicken combined with the consistency of the dressing was not at all what I expected. After only a couple bites, I left the entire sandwich untouched. What was even more disappointing was that when our waitress brought the bill, she clearly noticed I hadn't eaten the sandwich and chose not to ask about it. At this price point for lunch, I would have expected the situation to be handled a little differently. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which was nice, but there's also an uncovered outdoor section with older picnic tables that don't really match the vibe of a more upscale lunch spot. If you plan to sit outside, I'd recommend making your seating preference clear when booking.

Dog Fight super-fan David Hunt put us on the scent of the dogs at Simply Savory. Simply Savory is…read moretucked away on Devine Street in the space that once housed Ben and Jerry's. It's a fancy little place that's a cross between a gourmet food store, wine shop and eatery. In fact, when Dean noticed the wine tasting schedule, he wondered if we were in the right place. You can park and eat inside or pick up food to go. Simply Savory has a full deli-style lunch menu that includes salads, sandwiches and wraps. They carry Hershey's ice cream by the scoop but the Dog Fighters had dessert Dog Fight-style. More on that later. At Simply Savory, the dogs are delivered in baskets with your choice of a side: potato salad, Zapp's chips or Sun Chips, or pasta salad with a crisp pickle sliver on the side. If you get a hankerin' for another dog, you can order them a la carte. There's an NYC Dog (ketchup and mustard only), chili dog, slaw dog, kraut dog or the Wild Dog. How the Dog Fight went down. Andrew: Dog 1: Slaw dog Dog 2: Kraut dog Dog 3: Wild dog (half) Tim: Dog 1: Chili dog Dog 2: Kraut dog Dog 3: Wild dog (half) Dean: Dog 1: Slaw dog Dog 2: NYC dog Dog 3: Wild dog (bite) Julie: Dog 1: Wild Dog Dog 2: Wild dog (half) Jeff: Dog 1: Chili Dog 2: Wild dog Russell: Dog 1: Slaw dog Dog 2: Wild Dog Amy: Dog 1: Chili dog, no onions John: Wild dog (half) The Dogs If you notice how the Dog Fight went down, you might be able to piece it together. That Wild Dog was so good many of us went back for another or found a partner to share one with. Julie even shared a bite of her half with Dean, who looked very forlorn as we oohed and ahhhed our way through round two. Yes, the Wild Dog is that good. Simply Savory fresh-grills Nathan's dogs so the wiener by itself is a treat. Snappy, meaty and tasty. Jeff found his juicy wiener grilled to perfection and delivered lingering notes of garlic and paprika. The dogs are served up on toasted buns. Amy, who enjoyed a to-go chili dog an hour after the Dog Fight, said her dog was great, cold. The Toppings Jeff found the homemade chili at Simply Savory simply awesome. Russell agreed, declaring it spicy and great. It had a wonderful texture with bold, but not overpowering, taste from nine seasonings the owner refused to divulge. Dean said the coleslaw was artful-looking yet a bit underwhelming, but it went well with the rest of the hot dog toppings. Jeff said the Wild Dog was the closest thing to perfection on a bun. Julie enthusiastically gave it a perfect score and even Tim said it was possibly one of the best hot dogs he'd ever eaten. Why? It's a Nathans dog on a toasted bun with a little extra somethings that go like this: spicy mustard, chipotle mayo, carmelized Vidalia onions, chili and cheese. The Verdict It was a great day in Dog Fight history. The only downside was the cost. Dean said he felt like he was being taken at first. It was a hair pricy but, as we all readily agreed, at least you get something that's worth the cost. According to Jeff, Dog Fight Director of Math and Spreadsheet Maintenance, Simply Savory scored an impressive 26.9 out of 30 with the coveted Wild Dog stealing the victory from the other very strong contenders. The bottom line? Stop whatever you are doing, drive there now and get the Wild Dog. Then bring us some more.
