Finally contacted Lisa directly to schedule a date. Six months later. No problem. We were able to book a session within a week or two after the call. Lisa came to our home, on time, fully prepared and ready to shoot. Armed with every whistle, bell and squeaker that elicited the most wonderful expressions from our girls. Lisa spent over an hour with us taking photos in several key areas outside. Once our session was done we met with Lisa at her studio two weeks later. We were so overwhelmed with the amount of great images that we decided to go home and think it over only to book another appointment. Again, no problem. We were able to take our time, make out decisions and within 2-4 weeks later, and in time for the holidays we had our photos to proudly show our visitors. I'm finally comfortable taking pictures on manual mode--or at least attempting to--and I have a better idea of what to look for in terms of ideal light. Prior to her class, I was stuck on AV mode. The class does cover some technical detail, but for the most part, it's hands on. It was very laid back, and not intimating what so ever. I found the class very beneficial. Devon Anne Photography has also done our Christmas pictures and newborn pictures, in her studio. The newborn session was especially relaxed, go with the flow, and not stressful. It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about. If you have the need for such services and you are in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area ( or even beyond- it's worth it) make sure you check Tom out. He even made me look good...and that's saying something.
