Being from the south and having had more than my fair share of bbq, I've found most places skip on either the sides or the sauces. The Crazy Pig had everything. Their meat is some of the best I've had. Their sauces were delicious. Highly recommend. read more

Great aesthetic, but I can guarantee you this is not BBQ done low and slow on a smoker. They had no smoker that we could see evidence of on-site. My guess is that their "BBQ" is done indoor in the oven. (No smoke rings, very little flavor, brown brisket- -all tell tale signs) read more

Mediocre at best. We split the two meat platter. 12.75 for a two meat platter that includes two meats, Texas toast, hush puppies and a side. We wanted the chicken on our platter but they were out. 5:30 on a Thursday evening. Very early to already be out of chicken. So we got the beef brisket and pulled pork With a side of potato salad. We received the meal one minute after we ordered. Quick, which is nice, but so quick that you know it isn't fresh. It only came with Texas toast. We asked where the hush puppies were and were told that they changed the menu to only include Texas toast with the meal. They only opened a week ago. You changed the menu within a week? Not to mention all paper menus in store and online menu say it includes hush puppies. False advertising. The manager brought out some hush puppies after we showed her the menu. They were good but unfortunately don't make up for the rest of the lackluster meal. Their "Texas Toast" was just unbuttered white bread. The beef brisket was more like prime rib with a thick layer of unappealing fat around it. And the pulled pork was pretty rubbery, nothing special. Potato salad was fine, very mustardy, like a store bought potato salad. Very underwhelming meal. Was hopeful for a new restaurant in Davidson, but unless they make some dramatic changes they won't last the month. read more

I have lived in Davidson since June. I remember this building used to house fuel pizza, which I loved. I noticed it is now the crazy pig. I decided to come by and try it tonight. I ordered the two meat platter and a Mecktoberfest beer. The food was served up rather quickly, And was pretty typical for any barbecue place. The pork was a little dry as was the brisket. No sauce was placed on top of any kind, usually a little juice from when it was cooked helps. I waited a few minutes on the beer and asked a female server if it was still coming? She responded yeah. I finished my meal and no beer was ever brought, so I asked them for a to go box and $6 for the undelivered beer. They apologized and said we hope to see you back soon, based on the number of employees standing around and the poor service, I don't believe I will be back. read more

Ordered this for lunch today. The frito was perfect. Got the Buffalo onion rings to try and was not disappointed, thought they may be spicy and it had the perfect amount on spice. Ordered the wildcat and everything was delicious. Also suggest the mac n cheese bites. Got a lot of them instead of only a couple to try. Last bur not least the bbq grilled cheese. Old Fuel pizza is gone and in its place REALLY good BBQ. Order at the front and sit to have your food brought to you. I got the classic pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. I'm PICKY when it comes to BBQ. I've been to BBQ festivals all over the South and this meal did not disappoint. I even liked it better than Midwood Smokehouse- my normal go-to BBQ joint. Potato salad had the perfect balance of potatoes, pickles & flavors. The ambiance is a chill 4th or July picnicesque vibe. I'll happily call this place my new favorite BBQ joint. read more

as a student at davidson, i eat here regularly! i usually go for the pulled chicken sandwich, the house sauce, the hushpuppies, and the slaw. i have enjoyed the food every single time! the staff members are super friendly and the crazy pig employs a lot of young workers, which is always nice to see. the food is always ready quickly and has a lot of flavor. this is also my roommates favorite restaurant! highly recommend the crazy pig! read more

Sorry guys ..... new but still way too many errors. My wife ordered the salad with a substitute of brisket instead of chicken. I ordered the two meat and a side, brisket and chicken. Both orders came out wrong with her salad having chicken and my plate with brisket and pulled pork. My wife easily poured a 1/4 cup of water off the salad and even though a $3.00 up charge there was almost no brisket. As for me I'm not sure how the meat is prepared ... no smoke ring, no bark. Only a ring of fat and wet meat. We won't be back. read more

This place is not bad at all. The brisket and pulled pork is outstanding. They have a great selection of sauces as well. The hush puppies are really good but the Mac and cheese bites were a highlight. Outstanding! Wings were fabulous. My wife had a salad with bbq chicken on it and she said it was great. So is it one of the best bbq places in comparison to Texas or Oklahoma- maybe not but it is well above anything locally with no comprise fir taste, portion size etc. one drawback- where are the ribs? Decent BBQ if you don't want to venture beyond Davidson. Counter service only, they bring out your order, but you'll have to go back in for BBQ sauce etc. They only have three meats, most places have more. The Crazy Pig is decent but definitely not in the same league as Midwood, Mac's or City BBQ. read more

Glad there is a restaurant in this location, they did a nice job fixing it up, but i was very disappointed in the food especially for the price. The pork definitely tasted as if it wasn't cooked to full temperature, it was very chewy and the Mac and cheese was so so. The Brisket was good so I wanted to make sure I commented on that. We ordered a side of hush puppies but the lady never told us or is it mentioned on the menu that you get hush puppies. I personally feel our meal shouldn't have cost $49 for two people in a fast casual BBQ joint. read more

I got the brisket and pulled pork combo. The brisket was dry and chewy and the pork tasted like it was microwaved before it was served. Very disappointing to say the least. There's much better places to get BBQ in the area. read more
