I really really hate leaving a review like this but I hope you learn and grow from this experience. Very friendly order takers menu looks and reads delicious. For starters the men's restroom needs attention yesterday. Urine all over the floor and seat and they just opened so idk who the night shift or openers was suppose to take care of that but extremely bad odor as well like a porta potty. I ordered the half chicken. Taste exactly like a hot dog had to drown in sauce to get down also very dry. Very very strange. The mac n cheese. Just take it off the menu that is atrocious that you even serve this. Like middle school lunch Mac n cheese. Extremely flavorless and just no wow factor anywhere on my plate. For this type of neighborhood I was definitely expecting more of a wow factor but from the restroom to the plate everything was very disheartening. read more

Brisket was good and sides were excellent. From Texas and picky when it comes to brisket. Probably the second best brisket I've had in the Carolinas. Will return. read more

Great food and service! Staff was friendly and professional. The Crazy Pig sandwich had a nice portion of pulled pork - left the restaurant full ! read more

Craving BBQ last night... sooo glad we got this spot! Ordered their nachos with pulled pork... delicious!! Also had their Wildcat BBQ Brisket sandwich... great portion and made to perfection! Not sure why people give this spot a one star review.. they seem like they had a bad day... this place is definitely a must try! read more

I must say one of the best BBQ spot I've found in NC been looking for a pit since 2018! Everything is cooked to perfection, I had the Chicken & Brisket platter combo definitely worth it..the meat practically melts away I. Your mouth after every bite so soft & delicious.. read more

Had a great meal the other night at the Crazy Pig. Pork was excellent and sides were just as good. Will return soon.

Being from the south and having had more than my fair share of bbq, I've found most places skip on either the sides or the sauces. The Crazy Pig had everything. Their meat is some of the best I've had. Their sauces were delicious. Highly recommend. read more

Great aesthetic, but I can guarantee you this is not BBQ done low and slow on a smoker. They had no smoker that we could see evidence of on-site. My guess is that their "BBQ" is done indoor in the oven. (No smoke rings, very little flavor, brown brisket- -all tell tale signs) read more

Mediocre at best. We split the two meat platter. 12.75 for a two meat platter that includes two meats, Texas toast, hush puppies and a side. We wanted the chicken on our platter but they were out. 5:30 on a Thursday evening. Very early to already be out of chicken. So we got the beef brisket and pulled pork With a side of potato salad. We received the meal one minute after we ordered. Quick, which is nice, but so quick that you know it isn't fresh. It only came with Texas toast. We asked where the hush puppies were and were told that they changed the menu to only include Texas toast with the meal. They only opened a week ago. You changed the menu within a week? Not to mention all paper menus in store and online menu say it includes hush puppies. False advertising. The manager brought out some hush puppies after we showed her the menu. They were good but unfortunately don't make up for the rest of the lackluster meal. Their "Texas Toast" was just unbuttered white bread. The beef brisket was more like prime rib with a thick layer of unappealing fat around it. And the pulled pork was pretty rubbery, nothing special. Potato salad was fine, very mustardy, like a store bought potato salad. Very underwhelming meal. Was hopeful for a new restaurant in Davidson, but unless they make some dramatic changes they won't last the month. read more

The Crazy Pig - Two meat platter - Barbeque Near Me - Davidson, North Carolina

I have lived in Davidson since June. I remember this building used to house fuel pizza, which I loved. I noticed it is now the crazy pig. I decided to come by and try it tonight. I ordered the two meat platter and a Mecktoberfest beer. The food was served up rather quickly, And was pretty typical for any barbecue place. The pork was a little dry as was the brisket. No sauce was placed on top of any kind, usually a little juice from when it was cooked helps. I waited a few minutes on the beer and asked a female server if it was still coming? She responded yeah. I finished my meal and no beer was ever brought, so I asked them for a to go box and $6 for the undelivered beer. They apologized and said we hope to see you back soon, based on the number of employees standing around and the poor service, I don't believe I will be back. read more

The Crazy Pig - Food, but no beer. - Barbeque Near Me - Davidson, North Carolina

The brisket rivals the beat I've ever had! Great assortment of BBQ sauces, cool screened in dining area and over the top friendly service. A great addition to the community ! read more

Wonderful BBQ platters with excellent sauce selections. Local and regional craft beers enhance the experience with warm customer service!

so I call two days ahead of time to try to get a order for just 8 pounds of barbecue. Was told we could not do that over the phone needs to come in. Went in the next day at 11:30 was told oh no we can't do an 8 pound order of barbecue for the next day. needs better customer service. read more

We loved the food and the casual atmosphere. The wings were the best I've had in a long time! Both the quesadilla and the grilled cheese with barbeque were delicious. We enjoyed sitting at the bar. Looking forward to going again. read more

Ordered this for lunch today. The frito was perfect. Got the Buffalo onion rings to try and was not disappointed, thought they may be spicy and it had the perfect amount on spice. Ordered the wildcat and everything was delicious. Also suggest the mac n cheese bites. Got a lot of them instead of only a couple to try. Last bur not least the bbq grilled cheese. The price was amazing for all that we got. Will order from them again. read more

I was quite pleased with my order. I got pulled pork sliders and fries. Super good. Friendly staff and quick service. Would definitely eat here again! read more

So happy that the food, atmosphere and staff here is so great. The portions were ample, the variety on the menu was great, and the food tasted great. I will be back for sure. Also happy that they have a nice selection of beer. read more

We've been waiting for this place to open and were very happy to see people eating outside! We tried the buffalo onion rings and they were fantastic. Would love to come back for a beer. read more

Old Fuel pizza is gone and in its place REALLY good BBQ. Order at the front and sit to have your food brought to you. I got the classic pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. I'm PICKY when it comes to BBQ. I've been to BBQ festivals all over the South and this meal did not disappoint. I even liked it better than Midwood Smokehouse- my normal go-to BBQ joint. Potato salad had the perfect balance of potatoes, pickles & flavors. The ambiance is a chill 4th or July picnicesque vibe. I'll happily call this place my new favorite BBQ joint. read more

Wildcat BBQ Brisket Sandwich Every small town in America should have a family-owned bbq restaurant so good!!! Fantastic food, great vibe, quaint bar w/lots of local micros. The smoked wings are ridiculously good and the brisket rivals any I've had anywhere in the Southeast. Fast, cordial service. read more

as a student at davidson, i eat here regularly! i usually go for the pulled chicken sandwich, the house sauce, the hushpuppies, and the slaw. i have enjoyed the food every single time! the staff members are super friendly and the crazy pig employs a lot of young workers, which is always nice to see. the food is always ready quickly and has a lot of flavor. this is also my roommates favorite restaurant! highly recommend the crazy pig! read more

This was the 4th time we have ordered food. It keeps getting better. We had the "Wildcat" sandwich, two meat dinner, and the sliders. The mac n cheese was greatly improved. Slaw was thumbs up. It will more fun when this Covid19 is over with. read more

Delicious comfort food at a reasonable price in a casual atmosphere. We needed this type of place in Davidson. Looking foreword to sitting at the bar and watching ball games with yummy apps and cold beer when they resume play. Seems like they have worked out the opening kinks. read more

Sorry guys ..... new but still way too many errors. My wife ordered the salad with a substitute of brisket instead of chicken. I ordered the two meat and a side, brisket and chicken. Both orders came out wrong with her salad having chicken and my plate with brisket and pulled pork. My wife easily poured a 1/4 cup of water off the salad and even though a $3.00 up charge there was almost no brisket. As for me I'm not sure how the meat is prepared ... no smoke ring, no bark. Only a ring of fat and wet meat. We won't be back. read more

Awesome food! So happy to have found this new place! I had the sliders my friend had the chicken sandwich.... both had ample portions of meat. read more

Stopped in tonight hoping to find a new go to BBque place. Told to take a seat and they would be with us to take our order. We arrived at 7:30. Waited 10 minutes before a waitress showed up and told us they had decided to stop serving for the night. What can you say. 1 star is generous. read more

This place is not bad at all. The brisket and pulled pork is outstanding. They have a great selection of sauces as well. The hush puppies are really good but the Mac and cheese bites were a highlight. Outstanding! Wings were fabulous. My wife had a salad with bbq chicken on it and she said it was great. So is it one of the best bbq places in comparison to Texas or Oklahoma- maybe not but it is well above anything locally with no comprise fir taste, portion size etc. one drawback- where are the ribs? Gotta have ribs. read more

The brisket grilled cheese is AWESOME! Great atmosphere along with outdoor seating. Definitely will be back.

WOW, the absolute best brisket sandwich is right here! You are truly a hidden gem in plain sight. It's alway nice to enjoy your meal, they go that extra step, to make you want to go back there. read more

Soooo disappointing. Dryest pulled pork I've ever had (no flavor either), brisket was awful too, mac n cheese was funky... was really hoping this place would be great. read more

Decent BBQ if you don't want to venture beyond Davidson. Counter service only, they bring out your order, but you'll have to go back in for BBQ sauce etc. They only have three meats, most places have more. The Crazy Pig is decent but definitely not in the same league as Midwood, Mac's or City BBQ. read more

Glad there is a restaurant in this location, they did a nice job fixing it up, but i was very disappointed in the food especially for the price. The pork definitely tasted as if it wasn't cooked to full temperature, it was very chewy and the Mac and cheese was so so. The Brisket was good so I wanted to make sure I commented on that. We ordered a side of hush puppies but the lady never told us or is it mentioned on the menu that you get hush puppies. I personally feel our meal shouldn't have cost $49 for two people in a fast casual BBQ joint. read more

I got the brisket and pulled pork combo. The brisket was dry and chewy and the pork tasted like it was microwaved before it was served. Very disappointing to say the least. There's much better places to get BBQ in the area. read more
