Charming coffee shop and cafe on a lively street in Glasgow's West End. I was drawn in by the copious display of pastries, cakes, and cookies, and was amazed to learn that they are all vegan. They offer a fully vegetarian sit in menu, where anything can be made vegan. In addition, their refrigerated case contained a Thai rice/curry dish, various samosas, sandwiches, and other desserts for takeaway (or dine in, if you prefer). They also have fresh juices and smoothies. The interior is cozy and quaint, seating only around 10 people. Laid back shabby chic vibes and friendly employees made me feel welcome.
To start, their coffee is fantastic. I got an Americano with soya, which was perfectly made. As a tourist in Scotland I could not resist trying a Haggis Samosa, but was disappointed to find that the filling was nothing more than cubed potato. However, the herb chutney served alongside was fantastic and added dimension. I also had a pastry with fresh strawberry and vanilla icing on top, which was impressively buttery and flaky. Making delicate pastries like croissants and danishes vegan can be tough, but the bakers here really nail the consistency. Highly recommended. read more
