My wife and I enjoyed the Think X show on December 30 and had a wonderful time. This is the type of…read moresmaller venue that makes everyone feel at home. Yes, we all bumped up against each other, but there were never any hard feelings about it. Instead, everyone always had a smile. Despite the fact that the bar was PACKED for the show, our server was almost unbelievably attentive. Even closing out our tab only took 2ish minutes, with a couple hundred people present. the drinks were good and STRONG, too. This is what I like - if we're going to pay L.A. prices for drinks, make them good...and they did! As for the show, it was incredible and the sound was remarkable (and important note, as good sound is sometimes lacking in smaller venues). Plus, the tickets were only like 35 bucks! WE DID NOT get to eat, as all of the tables were booked, but I could see and smell other people's food and it looked INCREDIBLE. This was our first trip to The Mint, but it definitely isn't going to be our last. Thank you for giving us an amazing night!

You must get there early if you'd like to find a spot to sit and enjoy. -Wait staff is MEH. Additionally, they should really tell customers that the water bottles they bring out cost $4.00 each. They didn't tell us until we asked for a "full breakdown" of the bill. -Also, keep an eye out for "included tip" followed up by additional tip line. I thought was sneaky.

Didn't get any drinks, but the ID check to get the 21+ drink wristband was efficient and quick since it was done outside the venue while we were waiting for security check. Venue was strict on the GA standing area, which I'm super grateful for since I'm always worried for the safety of GA type of events. Parking is usually the biggest issue when it comes to most things in Los Angeles. We didn't come early, so we weren't able to find decent street parking. We went to two of the listed parking lot on their website: one was closed and the one other didn't allow 30+ minutes parking. We ended up parking at the structure connected with multiple restaurants: Chipotle, Einstein Bros. The parking was straight forward for the most part. Scan QR code and follow the directions. It was reasonably priced as well, you just have to remember to end the parking time so you won't overcharged.

Concert was supposed to start at 9 with entrance entry being at 8pm. Long wait time for security to check everyone. This was the most intense security check ever. Like going through the TSA lol. They had so many rules. One being no gum. I was like seriously so not cool as I had a bunch of packs in my purse. Just had hubby take my purse back to car as I didn't want to throw away anything. Also hated that they had no smoking area for ganja as other venues do when hosting reggae gigs. We finally make it in the venue. Decided to grab a few brews. For 2 tall modelo cans 18 bucks a pop. That's the most expensive beer I've ever paid for from a can. So 40.41 for 2 beers. Absolute freaking hwy robbery. Didn't go back as at that price I could buy a 24 pack at the store lol. Plus the dude working wasn't friendly at all. On to the inside of the venue. Concert was supposed to start at 9pm. They did have a DJ but he really didn't hype us up before the main event. Didn't like the setup not inviting at all. Small dance floor & it got way too cramped. Unfortunately the show didn't end up starting until 9:35 & was done around 11.20. Love Protoje and all the music was awesome but this was one of the worst concerts. Felt very ripped off. Most definitely won't be returning or recommending. Hard pass!

This historic venue sits alongside other famous spots on Sunset known for live concerts and acts…read more Valet parking is available less than a block away for $20, but my friend and I decided on street parking for $2/hr. Comes with the added modern convenience of paying online as needed. We arrived about 10 minutes before the 8:30pm start time, so the line had steadily been moving in. Dimly lit space, crowded floors, restrooms on the left, merchandise for sale on the right, and a bar serving drinks at the back. A few nights ago, Joanna Wang held a concert here, the fourth stop of her North American tour. The show started right on the dot with no opening acts which was much appreciated. The first set ran through her latest album, "Hotel la Rut" which combined productions of strange, disturbing, moody unpredicability with moments of seemingly whimsical levity and repressed emotions. One after the other, it felt like listening to tracks of a musical. As is often stated comparing to the studio recordings, the live performances added charm and context to the machinations of her mind's inner workings. It helped that the sound quality here was remarkably vibrant, with the band going between genres seamlessly. Personally enjoyed "Pigeons on Your Balcony", "People Don't Eat Dinner by Themselves", and "Ragged Stairs to Heaven". Promptly afterwards, the second set contained a selection of past songs from her almost two decade long career, ranging from creative compositions to inventive covers. It was a full-on display of her vocal range and inspirations through the years. Some memorable ones included "Alice in Wonderland", "親密愛人", "Radio Killed the Radio Star", and "Simply Nothing You Can Do", with "Vincent" as her encore performance. It was a good time, as I found myself smiling at her showmanship going from soulful nostalgia to nutty, irrepressible energy. Here's hoping she performs around here more often.

Security was thorough and efficient, but not a-holes and no review of food as I could see none. Parking was available for a price in the area depending on how far you wanted to walk. No real threatening people on the street I could see. My only complaint, the band was OG Japan punk power trio from way back and I felt the venue kinda dicked em around perhaps because they were women. They seemed to get pushed out early and mentioned the place was closing early. That was all differing from what appeared to be scheduled. It was good music, good sight lines, not too hot, but the way it panned out left me a bit cold.

It's the kind of place where you can take your time exploring different pours rather than rushing through drinks. The selection is impressive, ranging from familiar labels to smaller distilleries you don't see everywhere. The bartender was clearly passionate about the craft and offered a couple of suggestions based on what I usually enjoy. I tried a whiskey I hadn't heard of before, and it turned out to be a great recommendation with a smooth, layered flavor. What I liked most was the atmosphere. It felt social without being overwhelming, making it easy to have a conversation or simply sit back and enjoy the drink. The crowd seemed like a mix of locals and people who genuinely appreciate good spirits. The Phoenix stands out as a spot where whiskey takes center stage, but the environment remains welcoming and unpretentious. It's a great choice if you're looking to unwind with a thoughtfully poured glass in Beverly Grove.

Once you enter, there are a few spaces to hangout before the show. The vibe was very eclectic - like I wouldn't be surprised if they had a tarot card reader in some dark corner (they didn't btw haha). There were a couple of cash bars set up. Everyone working at the venue was pleasant. The theatre itself was intimate in size. It was simple yet classic. They gave plenty of verbal countdowns to showtime. They have a strict no photos, videos, electronics use policy in the theatre during the show which was fine by me. I did drive up from San Diego solo to see Rory Scovel. He put on a great set! The vibe was great here. I met a bunch of cool people before the show. Definitely recommend getting a show in here.

I was front and center tonight and I couldn't believe it - very rarely are you that close to performers of any kind. Today was my second time being here. The first time I saw Judd Apatow and David Spade and friends - although I love them, Judd was going for a very laid back approach reading off of his iPad lol. Today I saw Vanessa Bayer, Kyle Mooney, and Jenny Lewis was her surprise guest! The show was so funny and Jenny's guitar playing and singing were angelic. There's a lot of food places in walking distance so you can grab your ticket and eat dinner before the show. Highly recommend going if you're on the fence! Try it!
