We paid extra by buying a dining package for Blue Bayou to have the honor of sitting on the floor on Main Street Disney plaza to view the light parade. What a rip off considering people did the same for free right across the street. Ohh Disneyland, how you try to squeeze us suckers dry. Plus not telling us "seating" means the sidewalk. Anyway... heck, for the extra dough we shelved out, they could have least put out folding chairs.
If you don't want to pay extra, you can stake out a prime spot. You may have to show up 2 hrs early to claim a spot. A good viewing spot is opposite of the plaza under the train depot near city hall. However there could be better spots, you may have to do some recon.
Anyway the light parade was great. The floats and choreographed dancers were beautiful and fun to watch. There's music that makes it more festive. Some of the floats included Beauty and Beast, Cinderella, Cars, Ariel, Monsters, Frozen, Toy Story, and the magical finale of Mickey the sorcerer. I had fun. read more
