The Covered Window, Peoria AZ with James & Kelli et al. are top notch very friendly professionals who provide great personal one-on-one window coverings service and consultation. I purchased a new build home and brought James in early on in the process of selecting coverings. I wanted a great configuration throughout the 19 various sized windows with just as many light changes from the AZ sun angles. I was looking for quality fair priced (not cheap & not too pricey) coverings yet I wasn't sure of all the options offered in the industry today. I had a little bit of a clue to help James help me and he exceeded my expectations. I knew I wanted top down bottom up cellulars but wasn't sure if they fit in at which window. James and Kelli were/are incredibly responsive and helpful right from the start. He guided me months before as to when, the stage of new build, to bring him in. I did just that (after the point my cabinets were I stalled). We quickly scheduled a walk through of the still 8 weeks away closing. Room by room in the afternoon, to gauge the sunlight, we walked through and discussed choices with different colors and material in mind. James took accurate measurements then too. Kind of a big thing if you want the great fit and accurate cost estimate. James is incredibly honest and helpful stating the pros & cons of choices with respect to my style and windows. I appreciated that to get them both functional and nice looking. Each window and room is different and requires expert experience. He knows what works in a room and what doesn't but has respect that it's a customer's ultimate choice. He didn't steer me wrong with both cellulars (some motorized) and basswood blinds. I love them. James also considers personal lifestyle and the level of cleaning involved for the coverings. On 2 of my windows he even suggested that I didn't get the more expensive motor option due to predicted lower use (I'm glad I listened to him). When James schedules he shows up on time and doesn't leave until everything is as perfect as could be. He makes things right on any technical challenge of a shade. No rushing through it. He also spent the time to train me on these new (at least to me) motorized options. Great warranty and will always be available for adjustments should shades need it later on. All the shades except 1 came in on time just as James estimated. The one that was backordered he alerted me with an estimated time frame and he was right on. After it arrived scheduling was simple and it was installed flawlessly. As good coverings are not inexpensive anywhere The Covered Window is a great very fair priced choice and value. That, combined with fantastic family run business service, was a great combination. I purchased 6 basswood, 13 various sized cellulars some motor some not. There are remote controlled options for in the house and remote via the Alta Window Fashion app. For example, remotely one can schedule auto open and close times. As a savvy consumer who works hard for your dollars, by all means get the usual 3 estimates. But make The Covered Window one of them. And no, I'm not a family member nor previous person friend. I just wanted a quality yet not overpriced option with great friendly knowledgeable service for my nice new build home. Is that asking too much?! Thankfully these folks didn't think so either. Thank you James, Kelli, and all The Covered Window for making a complex process much easier. Good luck with your own window coverings project. Mitch (Peoria AZ) 03/2023 read more

The Covered Window - Shades & Blinds Near Me - Peoria, Arizona

When I initially reached out to The Covered Window, I was only beginning my major renovation work. I needed input on where to place power boxes for electric blinds to be installed over new sliding glass doors. They were very fast to put me on the schedule to come out and give guidance for this. When my project was finally to the point that I could order blinds, they were again very quick to get me on the schedule. The turn around time to produce the blinds was much quicker than I anticipated and they were proactive about calling to tell me they were ready. The installation went well and I am very happy with my purchase, but especially the experience I had working with The Covered Window. Highly recommended. read more

Couldn't be happier with our shutters. They really change the entire look and feel of our home. Great experience from start to finish. Tom and Maria did a beautiful job installing making them look like they are actually part of the home and not an add on. Thanks everyone. read more

Several months after me and my wife had moved in to our newly built home, we wanted to get all our windows done. We heard of this great company through word of mouth and I'm so glad we went with The Covered Window. All of the employees we were in contact with were fabulous from Kelli who runs the office, to Ryan and James who came to give us a fair quote and installed our shutters/blinds. So happy they were recommended to us! read more

James did all the window coverings in our house. The motorized shades in the master bedroom and black out cell shades in the kids room keeps the all the rooms dark and cool throughout the summer. Highly recommended!! read more

I would easily give this company a 10-star rating. The entire operation, from my initial contact to the installation of the blinds, was handled professionally by all involved and the entire team radiates honesty. James is very knowledgeable and patient and, as I suspected, their customer service was awesome. There were a couple of small issues that they immediately brought to my attention during installation, then fixed by ordering and installing replacements. The fact that this is a small family-owned company means you get the personalized attention you deserve. I highly recommend The Covered Window! read more

We were looking to replace some honeycomb shades we were not in love with when we purchased our home. Brian helped us through options that would fit our stated goals and we opted for roller shades on a remote. The initial contact was easy and Kelly answered initial questions that bought our confidence to proceed. Brian was easy to work with and was super informative with many swatch options. Shades did not take nearly as long as initially advised (yay!) and Brian was at our home and had them installed within the first hour of our arrival time window. We are pleased with service, options & price and are considering finishing out the rest of our home with the same options. read more

James is a true professional and wonderful business owner. We ordered plantation shutters and blinds for our home. The shutters are high quality at such an excellent price. We're truly satisfied with the purchase and installation. The installation crew that installed the shutters were efficient and clean. I called another local company and they didn't even come close to James price and service. We recommended James to our in laws as well. The shutters have made our home look and feel more luxurious inside and out. Will definitely recommend to others! Thank you! read more

We actually had our blinds for our new home installed about a year ago and have been remiss on writing a review. We had 3 companies come to give us an estimate and James was by far the best. We loved that it is a family owned company and he had excellent turn around times. We had 8 windows and sliding doors covered and they are beautiful. We had company today and they commented on how nice they look. We agree. James did a wonderful job, great communication, excellent work, and great work ethics. We had him come back and do the rest of the windows on the house, as well as update our Scottsdale home prior to selling it. They are outstanding!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else!! read more

I contacted The Covered Window about a week after I closed on my new home in Scottsdale. James met me at the property (on time!) and took measurements of all of the windows. He went over several options of plantation shutters for me and blinds in the areas that the shutters would not work. He even helped me pick a trim that would go with my baseboards and crown molding around the door frames. The shutters were ready about 5 weeks later (when promised) and installation took less than 2 hours. The shutters look fantastic and I would highly recommend The Covered Window to anyone looking for quality shutters or blinds. read more

I would highly recommend TCW to any of my friends or family looking for window coverings. James and Kelli make a great team. Kelli was super responsive when I had questions, and James knew more than I could've ever thought to ask about our window coverings. I requested quotes from about 5 different vendors, and at the end of the day, I chose them because of how helpful and friendly they were. So many of the places I talked with made it feel like my order was just job number X. Kelli got me a fairly complicated quote (we had some odd window sizes and special requests for a few windows) within the hour, and James worked with us on payment as we were closing on our first house while he had to place the order. He and his son covered the windows in our house in under an hour, if I had to guess. Super efficient install. I even joked with him about wanting to get some better bulbs in our stairwell chandelier (I'm super afraid of heights), and he volunteered to put them in for me while he was putting blinds up in that area. Little things like that tell me I chose the right team. Their pricing was competitive, and the quality of the product is great. But at the end of the day, I wanted to work with great people that are passionate about their product and customer experience -- and that's why I chose The Covered Window for our house! read more

This company was referred to me by a friend and 5 stars doesn't do justice!! They exceeded all expectations, take pride in their work, and get the job done quick and efficiently with 100% satisfactory! James was thorough and worked with us on our quote, Kelly helped make appt times work on both ends, and Brian did the installation excellent and timely! Would recommend them to anyone! Thanks to all!! read more

Very impressed with James and his work. We had received many quotes prior to making our purchase. Hands down, the Covered Window beat everyone's prices and his knowledge was phenomenal. He shared info about our old blinds helping us guide our new purchase. The blinds came in right on time and his professional install was perfect. He was prompt, clean, and just as purchased. You cannot ask for more than a company that backs their product and service. We were so impressed we ended up buying more for the upstairs during installation. Thank you James and the Covered Window for providing a 5 star local service. read more

I called the Covered Window after reviewing all of the positive feedback on Yelp. They were exactly as advertised: punctual, honest, fairly priced, and they did exactly what they promised. They replaced a large set of shutters in my family room, and also installed new shutters in my son's room. Everything looks great, and James and Kelli were great to work with. I would certainly use them again, and I've already recommended them to others. read more

My husband and I had finally decided that after 3 1/2 years in our new home that we needed to invest in blinds. A friend of ours had recently purchased blinds for his new home and due to his strong opinion on lots of thigs, I thought he would be the best consultant for this. When asking if he liked his blinds and if he was happy with the service he received, he couldn't say enough about how wonderful TCW is. So, I decided that I would give 'em a shot. I found a web coupon for a great discount and scheduled our appointment. Someone was out within a couple of days to measure and give an estimate. He gave us lots of options and helped us pick what was going to be the best for our family. We ended up ordering 2" faux wood blinds with the tight close and upgraded valance. It took about 2 weeks for them to be made and they were installed in the blink of an eye. I think all 13 windows took an hour for installation and he did such a great job. We are very happy with the quality of the faux wood, the time it took to complete and install as well as the customer service we received. We would recommend TCW a million times. I am sorry for not knowing the name of the people that helped us but are very thankful for the help they gave us. read more

We met James at the Home Show in July and he was extremely friendly and provided a lot of great information as we weren't sure what we wanted for our new home. We called James for a free in home estimate and he arrived on-time, was very professional and even helped us pick out a less expensive option that met our needs. His honesty about what products would be best for our lifestyle even at the lower cost was MUCH appreciated. He was able to explain the pros and cons of wood vs faux wood and helped us make an informed decision. We got the blinds installed tonight after only a little over a week turn-around. The blinds came in sooner than expected and James got us on the schedule right away for install. Everything went really smoothly and the blinds look fantastic! I would highly recommend James!!!! read more

I have two very long narrow windows in my bathroom. Even though I had sunscreens placed on the outside, I still got way too much sun. I could not figure out what to put up there without spending $600.00. I got the name of this company from someone on the Next Door app who highly recommended The Covered Window. James came over and we discussed the problem and he recommended a honeycomb cellular shade. It is just perfect and I am thrilled! This is a family owned business and James is the owner. He is so nice and does not try to high pressure you at all. I fully recommend this company. read more

Very happy with the new shutters we purchased for our new home! We called to schedule an appraisal and they were able to stop by our house and measure before it was even done being built. Shutters went into production and were finished within 4 weeks, just about a week after our house closed. The appraisal and installation were great. The prices were very reasonable, especially in comparison to other suppliers in the valley. All our windows (18 total) cost $5,000 (which I was surprised by, as some of our windows are fairly large). The only downside is the time it takes to install... The installer was here from 8am until about 7pm the same day. I would imagine any shutter installation would be time consuming, however. read more

My girlfriend and I purchased a new house about 7 years ago and with any new neighborhood going in we had sales guys at our door constantly. We knew we needed window treatments and wanted shade screens. We were almost ready to sign a deal with another guy when James stopped by. After agreeing to get a quote from him and speaking with him we just felt he was our guy. We signed the papers gave the deposit and about a week or so later he was back to install our screens and shades. Could not be more pleased with the service we got from The Covered Window. If you're looking to get window blinds, shade screens or shutters do yourself a favor and let James at The Covered Window handle it. read more

My husband and I had a really hard time deciding on what company to choose to build and install our plantation shutters. We are extremely happy that we chose The Covered Window. James was great to work with and he made everything very easy to understand. The shutters were completed and installed earlier than expected and our house looks more like a home now. Thank you James and the team at The Covered Window. read more

After numerous quotes for shutters we decided to go with James from The Covered Window. We felt his price was the best value for the quality of shutter that we desired. We have received numerous compliments on the shutters. They look incredible from inside and out. I would highly recommend The Covered Window for your shutter needs. read more

I highly recommend James and The Covered Window for your window covering needs! James and Kelli are extremely friendly. They are quick to respond to inquiries and very knowledgeable. These guys installed shutters on our entire house (except for one window, which we made the mistake of paying way too much to another company previously). Their price was very competitive (if not better) than the other bids we received. They delivered on everything they promised, and they kept to the schedule that was promised. This is a small family business, and every person we interacted with was beyond friendly and professional. We love our shutters and would recommend them again. read more

First contacted The Covered Window team several months back for a quote -- they were by far the lowest price out of the three bids I received. I didn't end up purchasing window coverings at the time as i instead opted to move. Now in my new home, I repeated the bid process and The Covered Window again had the best pricing. All of my shutters and motorized roller shades are now installed, and I am very happy with the results. James and his team are very professional and made my experience a positive one from start to finish. read more

We got our entire house done, and the wood blinds look awesome. Also they offer beautiful wood valances that are wider (5") than most. Furthermore, the blinds have the feature that with an little extra tug, they seal up very tightly so almost no light comes through! We didn't get our two sliding door verticals done by this company (although we did get the gorgeous valances). The verticals offered are mainly of the textured fabric-variety, and we prefer the plastic ones. So we worked with a different company just for that. However, this company was willing to reinstall the verticals as a favor to us! Excellent service. Finally I have to say the price was hundreds below the nearest competition, so the value is vey high! Holy recommended!! read more

Highly recommend this company if you're in the market for new window coverings. They were recommended to me by two separate couples who recently used them and had a wonderful experience; mine was no different. The pricing is more than fair, scheduling for a quote as well as the actual installation was unbelievably easy and frictionless, and the customer service is surely unparalleled. The quality of the blinds themselves is also noteworthy as I'm certain they are not all created equally. Overall, excellent value to be found with The Covered Window! read more
