I think I got the shortest straw from the Karma Police today.
Visiting with a colleague for lunch, I was pleased to sit outside and enjoy some doleful shoe gazing guitar twanging from a youthful busker opposite which helped while away the 40 minutes it took for my first plate of food from the short lunch menu to arrive.
Thankfully, there were only 2 other diners in the 40+ cover restaurant which must have required the visible manager along with the other 2 waiting staff. . . . somehow.
I tried to grimace and smile through finding a long black hair (yuk) in my fries accompanying my (very, very slowly cooked) burger and was offered a speedy replacement and was polite to my waiter who was doing his best.
I had originally requested my burger as rare as possible but had not considered this may translate as raw in the middle so, I am afraid, it was time to leave.
Kindly, I was not charged for my hairy fries or either of my rejected meals but was for my companions meal. Although not voiced, I assume that also not being charged for the soft drink was some form of compensation.
I will never get that missed lunch hour back though, and as I am enjoying my flavour free supermarket sandwich, I am truly hoping they get their act together.
I will probably never go back, people deserve better than this. read more
