But it wasn't a problem because the two girls checking us in were fast. They explained that it's three different buffets. This is where I get a little confused. So, you have the Seafood Buffet, the Country Cookin, and one more. Now we chose the Country Cookin, and it was beyond good. I went back for the beef tips and rice twice. The fried chicken was the crispiest I've ever had. The baked chicken was falling from the bones, and I had that with creamed corn and collard greens. Not many people can cook collard greens or creamed corn. I was very impressed. After my first two plates, I started to sample because I wanted to try all the food, and because each item had its own flavor and the way it was supposed to be cooked. I think this lady and I were about to rumble over the hushpuppies. We were both trying to figure out how they were made. I also had a big bowl of green beans, and I was elated to know these were cooked the old-fashioned way. I'm not a big fan of Blackberry Cobbler. But since everything I tried was good, I thought I should try the cobbler, and ten out of ten, it was the best. In overall this is really a good buffet.

But once inside you figure out quickly it is truly a hidden gem. The spinach dip was so good, the waitress was so accommodating and nice and appeared to give honest feedback when asked about her dish preferences. By far the star of the show was the red snapper. I was scared it would be dry but boy was I wrong!!! It was seasoned to perfection and so hot and delicious...can't believe I almost passed on it. It's been a struggle to find good food in Macon but this place checks all the boxes and I hope it stays around for years to come!

Located in Downtown Macon, parking is available via street parking. Finding a close spot on the weekend is like winning the Mega Million, possible, but don't count on it. We lucked up on this night and found a spot directly across from the restaurant. As we made our way to the entrance, we were unexpectedly greeted by a woman passionately yelling obscenities at us. Nothing like a little downtown ambiance to set the mood. Thankfully, the heavy police presence on every corner made me feel safe enough to proceed to the restaurant. Once inside, the chaos faded instantly. We were welcomed by a gregarious and friendly staff, informed them of our reservation, and were seated immediately. On this particular Saturday, they weren't overly busy, so we even had the luxury of choosing which booth best suited our comfort level. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale without being stuffy. Think dim lighting, elegant music, exposed ceilings, and décor that says "rustic charm" but also "yes, this entrée will cost more than $30." Our waiter was professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, the kind of service that makes you relax and stop checking the time. We started with cocktails: I ordered the strawberry lemon drop martini, and my husband opted for an old fashioned. Both were well-crafted, smooth, and strong enough to make us forget about the crazy lady outside. For appetizers, we each ordered the crab cake. You get one small crab cake, but it was tasty and respectable by Middle Georgia standards. Entrées are à la carte, so order accordingly. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with Brussels sprouts and spinach, while my husband chose the salmon with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Both fish dishes were cooked perfectly and tasted fresh, with sauces that paired beautifully. The Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. My husband said his mashed potatoes were possibly the creamiest he's ever had. All of the food was outstanding. Dessert options include their 3rd & Cherry cobbler, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. Heads up: desserts are made to order and take about 20 minutes. Translation, order dessert early unless you're prepared to sit there long enough to contemplate life choices. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, which always earns bonus points. Overall, we had a lovely experience at 3rd & Cherry. It's an excellent choice for a special occasion, date night, or anytime you want to feel a little fancy without leaving Middle Georgia. We'll definitely be back.

Hi, I went to Southside Seafood because I live close in the…read moreneigborhood. Not a good experience! First, the menu is not correct. The fish dinners do not come with fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies, as advertised. I ordered a 3 pc flounder with okra and broccoli. Thinking I was also getting the other items that the menu said it came with. I got my food and asked about the fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. The girl at the register said, "Oh it doesn't come with it" and didn't say anything after that. Not until I had to point it out to her that it was on the menu, that she acknowledged the menu was wrong. I had to get the menu from the counter and point it out to her. So basically, she was gonna let me think that I just ordered wrong. Which is so messed up. This is false advertisement. BTW, I had their menu for weeks at home. This menu has been wrong, and they know it's been wrong for a while. When I opened the box, the fish was very, very small and the fish was in the same side with the broccoli. The juice from the broccoli went onto the fish and made it wet. I would think as a cook, you would know better. I asked for another container to put the fish in. As I stated previously, the fish was very very small for $17.99, basically $20 dollars. It looked like they took the flounder and cut that piece in half. Not giving me a FULL SIZE piece of fish. The ends were curled up, so I'm guessing this is what they did. I've never had a piece of full size fish look like that. It looked like half of a piece of fish and for $17.99! Oh, and you only get 1 side! What soul food fish place you know where you get 1 side? I haven't seen it. So, I had to order the fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies since it didn't come with it as advertised. I had to wait on them to fix it and my other food was getting cold. The girl at the counter did not apologize and she did not offer a discount for the menu being incorrect and the false advertisement. When I got my food, she was going to forget my coleslaw, and I had to remind her that I also ordered coleslaw. When I got home to eat the food, it was not good. The fish tasted like it didn't have any seasoning, the coleslaw was horrible. It didn't really have a taste at all. The broccoli was okay. You can't really mess up okra, and fries, so they were fine. The hush puppies were very, very, very small. Like a hushpuppy had 2 babies. I would not go back to this restaurant. I would give it zero stars if I could. Poor customer service and the food was not good. JJ's is way better and the fish is the correct size. Not cut in half and served to you like, you wouldn't notice the size. I was so disappointed because I believe it's black owned. DON'T DO IT!
