Not in fact a photocall for The Restaurant 2010, but my best friend & my grandad!

Brilliant fish & chip restaurant in Blackpool that I think is the best going. It's really nice and cosy inside and is a little bit fancier than a plastic chairs and tables chippie. Prices are cheap and fish is always very fresh from Fleetwood. The batter is particularly light and fluffy so you don't feel weighed down. The only thing is it's a little out of the way, so if you aren't a local you probably wouldn't have any occasion to run into it. If you can make it (just off Oxford Sq) then go for it - yum yum!

Fish and chips good, but not outstanding. Unfortunately, the service was a bit dour and slow.

Still a good chippy but there are better out there for the price. Service is much faster than it used to be but still expect a wait.

I have been to the Thornton branch of Seniors many times to sample their award winning fish and…read morechips, so thought I'd try the Blackpool branch for a change. I wasn't disappointed. Ok, the surroundings aren't quite as flashy as the purpose built one in Thornton but it's still a decent clean, comfortable restaurant. On arrival, after choosing a table we were given menus with a sample of one of the daily specials which was John Dory. I ordered the hake whilst my dining companion ordered the John Dory. Both were superb. The batter is really perfect, light, delicate flavour and just the right level of crispiness. I would recommend the 'square deal' option off the menu as it includes mushy peas and a similarly sized fish, just a few less chips than a standard portion. They have a good ice cream range so I finished my meal off with a portion of mint choc chip - one of my favourites. They are licensed too so if you fancy beer or wine with your meal this is possible. I'm now at the point where going to Blackpool for the day and not going to one of the branches of Seniors is almost unthinkable!!

Wow, this is definitely the best fish and chips I have ever tasted! I ordered the £15.75 cod…read morespecial that came with a large piece of cod fish, chips, a side, a slice of bread with butter and a cup of tea or coffee. For the side I opted for the mushy peas which is typically not found on menus in the U.S. I am not a fried food person and definitely prefer my fish raw as sashimi or cooked any other way than deep fried. However, I enjoyed this succulent piece of cod fish and even ate some of its batter which I usually don't do. I walked by several fish and chips eateries before getting here, so I know this place's price is a bit higher than others'. However, the quality of its food made it justifiable. The friendly staff's quick attentive service and their impressive efficiency from seating you quickly after you step inside, bringing you a menu immediately, taking your order quickly, serving your food as soon as it is done, and bringing you your check definitely give you an overall 5-star dining experience.

They don't just have cod and haddock but have a wider range of fish available. I always have the large cod. The fish is moist and very tasty, the batter is always just right, though you can have it lightly battered. Chips are equally good-firm and dry, not at all soggy. It seems to be open all hours so there is no excuse if visiting the Las Vegas if the North not to visit.
