This is on the way to Callao brewery from Reedville. We stop here for dinner and then go to Callao brewery to grab drinks and play trivia there. Space is very good. Nice partitions in the dinning room makes it feel nice and comfortable for privacy as well. Our recent dinner here was on the Valentine's Day. We ordered a bunch of our favorites - shrimp and grits, scallop in cream sauce with veggies. Absolutely delicious. Huge portions so it's almost like two meals for us. Shrimp & grits were unique. I have usually had spicy versions in other restaurants. This was slightly bland for my liking. It was more on the creamier side. I still liked it. For desserts, pineapple fritters with ice cream were absolutely delicious. Cheese cake was alright. Highly recommend this place.

We ordered calamari to start and for our entrees we had the fried shrimp platter and salt and pepper catfish. All 3 dishes were lightly bartered and fried well. I thought they food was fine and met expectations for fried seafood. We went on a Saturday evening in July for dinner and it was pretty warm in the restaurant so I was ready to be and in and out and not stay any longer than we needed to. If we were in the area, I'd consider coming back and trying other dishes.

We popped in for a casual beer break, and it quickly turned into one of the highlights of the day. The space itself is gorgeous! It's open, airy and designed with a laid-back coastal vibe that fits Cape Charles perfectly. You order both beer and food inside at the counter, which keeps things easy and low- key. I went with the Pilsner, and it was exactly what I wanted, perfect after a day out exploring. Their beer list has something for everyone, whether you're into lighter options or something with a bit more depth. We didn't order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. They've got plenty of options like burgers, nachos, and other brewery favorites that definitely seemed worth trying next time. What really stood out was the atmosphere. There was so much going on in the best way. They had a dog adoption event happening outside while we were there, which added such a fun, community-driven vibe. They also host live music and other events regularly, so it feels like there's always something to check out. The outdoor space is huge and perfect if you're with a group or bringing kids. There's a fire pit, games like cornhole, and plenty of room to spread out and hang for a while. Definitely the kind of place you plan to stop at for one drink and end up staying much longer. I will be adding this to my must visit list anytime I'm on the Eastern Shore.

Coming from Northern Virginia, my standard for breweries is high and Cape Charles Brewing more than meets (surpasses) that standard. Their beer is absolutely wonderful and their selection of food is delicious and perfect for beer-drinking fun. They have a nice little outdoor seating area and some picnic benches with some games/activities for the kids. How can you want more??

My husband was pleased with the offerings of beer and enjoyed what he had. WE had Boat Cheese Curds with Marinara as an appetizer and they were quite good. I ordered Fried Crab Claw Cakes that came with potatoes and a slaw. All were very tasty. My husband got the Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya and loved it. We took desserts for later at the hotel: My husband's brownie was good and they packed the ice cream separately, so that made him happy. I had the peach cobbler, and while good -- I tend to like my peaches a bit more "peachy" ....they use lots and lots of cinnamon and allspice. The fruit was dark brown. Good, but not what I'd hoped for.

We ordered a Diners burger, Virginia burger, and house wings. The Burgers were borderline inedible due to the huge amount of salt. If i had been dining in I would have sent it back. I would not feed that much salted meat to my dog. The burgers dampness also had literally demolished the lower bun and iceberg lettuce. So i had to disgard those sodding blobs. The Virginian burger also salty, and the crab cake, small and underwhelming. The Chicken wings tasteless and dry. On too of this i had no choice but to pay a 10% tip for "take out prepare ". If i can give zero i would. Id say "fire the chef"
