Absolutely loved Tayyabs!…read more The one thing I knew I needed when visiting London was Indian food and I'm so happy I found this restaurant. Found this restaurant on Yelp after seeing such great reviews and I wasn't disappointed! At first, I was nervous my friend and I wouldn't get a table due to how busy the restaurant was but since we were only two people, we had no issue getting a table. Seating is tight! You are almost arm to arm with the individuals sitting around you which I actually found to be a great experience. My friend and I ended up striking conversation with the people next to us which led to a fun dining experience. Service was quick! We ordered food and it came out quickly and all waiters were super attentive. In terms of food, everything was absolutely delicious and portion sizes were huge! First we ordered the lamb chops and the samosas which were absolutely amazing. We then ordered the chicken and lamb dishes with the naan which completely filled us. I can't wait to come back and I will absolutely be dreaming about this restaurant until I come back!

Absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had on my trip. I ordered the tandoori chicken,…read moretandoori lamb chops, tikka masala, garlic naan and rice. The tandoori items come out sizzling on a hot plate marinated to perfection. They also bring you some complimentary pappadum and salad. There are three sauces on each table (yogurt, a sweet hot sauce, and a tamarind? Sauce. A pitcher of water is also there for your convenience which I love. All the items are very reasonably priced. On my way out I noticed some people bringing in beer so maybe BYOB? I would definitely come back here. Seems like it gets busy so plan accordingly.

My friend had the chicken chilli masala (nepalese spices with green chilli) and i had lamb capsilla (cooked with sweet, sour and hot nepalese style sauce) The curries were flavorsome and not swimming in cooking oil like how other Indian restaurants usually make them, but is a tad more pricey none the less it's still worth a visit.

A few years ago, a friend stayed with us and we took him here. He lived in India for a bit and not pleased with the items on the menu, asked for an off menu dish -- butter chicken. The waiter said they could definitely make it as it is what they normally make for the staff after hours. This opened our world to the loveliness of butter chicken, which is now my favourite dish at Khans. The choices are plentiful and all of it is very good. The service is very good and they are quite attentive. I am even tempted to give an extra star simply because when service a pint of beer to myself and brother-in-law, the waiter got mine safely in my hands and spilled the BIL pint all down his back. Classic! Anyway, a great place to get an Indian in the village!

I have heard a few people describe this place as the best Indian restaurant in Brighton. Whilst I…read moredon't think I've eaten in enough to warrant corroborating that statement, I can say I ate here recently and it was pretty damn good! What I particularly like about Shahi Tandoori is that it is split into two quite separate spaces, one side is the restaurant and one is the takeaway. This is genius! There's nothing more annoying than people wandering through while you're eating to pick up their order, letting a draft in and spoiling the ambiance of the restaurant. Well Shahi has it covered. Food-wise, the side dishes are all great...I particularly like the Bombay Aloo, the Sag Paneer and the Onion Bhajis- delicious! I can also recommend the Vegetable Balti and Chicken Tikka Masala. Since this place is just around the corner, we often pop down to pick up a few side dishes to go with a home-cooked curry and they never look at us funny, despite our paltry order! I like them.

You can never have enough good quality Indian restaurants (so says I), without doubt Shahi Tandoori…read moredeserves to be added to that category. It's located in an odd place at the bottom of Ditchling Rise, because of the location you might never have come this way, I really would recommend it though. 'Shahi' is a little bit cheaper then the more central Indian restaurants (and take aways, they do both). The food is also of a very good quality; I had the rogan josh and passanda, both of which I could eat 7 days a week. The area isn't the nicest, the decor is a little dated, but it's a fantastic place filled with Indian charm (and food).

Not just "hyped", dishoom deserves the recognition!…read more SERVICE Amazing service, easy to make reservations online, and easy to check in and get seated once your entire party has arrived. INSIDE Spacious, clean, and plenty of seating both upstairs and down. MENU For larger parties, they recommend their prefix menu which includes a various sampling of lots of delicious items. FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!
