Never a fantastic sign at a cafe when the response to the question "What coffees have you got on today?" is "... we have all the coffees. You know, cappuccino, latte, long black...", and yet, there is something quite nice about this cafe.
At the very least, this appears to be a local favourite, so they must be doing something right. Serving Toby's Estate (though unsure of which blend), the coffee is not bad. Not burnt and plasticy, the industrial roast is quite drinkable as a mac, though it doesn't really pop with anything other than chocolate and nuts. On the positive side of things, it was a well made and we'll presented mac.
The single origin, that after asking the barista directly I found that they have, was fairly bland, and on par with the roast style of the blend. When I asked what the single origin was, I was told "delicious". Seems that while the staff have excellent customer service, fantastic attitudes, they all need a bit more work on their basic coffee knowledge.
The high point was the almond croissant, which was actually quite nice. Not a bad cafe to visit if you are in the area, but not one to seek out for a great coffee experience.
