We settled for a bubble cone with strawberry ice cream. The cone was almost raw with mochi-like texture but not in a good way and the ice cream had an off putting aftertaste. All went in the trash as it was inedible. The red flag should've been the menu as it includes calamari and garlic fries. Leason learned.

The dulce de leche was especially good, and the texture of the ice cream was unique--it wasn't quite as creamy as traditional ice cream, but also not as icy or dense as gelato. It had a really enjoyable texture and flavor overall. Definitely a great choice for an event, and I'd happily try them again!

Within a minute, he called me over with my drink ready. Him and the manager on call that morning were so awesome and solution oriented. Also, they didn't make me feel bad about the correction. I'm not pregnant but I had cookie craving like a pregnant woman! The cookies were soooo good. I liked them better than Crumbl (who make theirs too gooey, and loaded with sugar). These were sweet and tasty but not to the point where they were SO sweet they hurt my teeth. They also have some milk (duh) that comes in amazing little glass bottles. Somehow we ended up ordering strawberry and banana milk. I think I'll put myself - not my husband - in charge of the ordering next time so we can end up with some chocolate milk! 2026: 59/100

I absolutely love Handel's; particularly this one!…read more There're over 50 different flavors at any given time, and their menu often has new flavors. The texture of their ice cream is so perfect; it's gooey enough to melt in your mouth, but still has that "ice cream chew", if you know what I mean. I've always had my orders "to-go", and what's nice is that when I get home, the ice cream still maintains its consistency as if I just picked it up a minute ago; be sure to ask to cover it if you have a takeout as well. Inside everything is clean, and the staff here is always busy; never had any issue with them. I've noticed when I come here that the lines are often long, outside-of-the-store long, but usually it moves pretty decent. However, if you come near closing time, sometimes there's only 1 person taking and fulfilling orders while everyone else is cleaning or performing other closing-procedure operations, so keep that in mind. There is some seating outside of the shop, but not much; no seating inside. Even with my longest waits, I always leave with a smile on my face.

With the wide selection of ice cream flavors, I always get choice paralysis. It's wonderful you can try a few flavors before picking the right one. All the ice cream is so fresh, fluffy, and the variety keeps you wanting to come back and try something new. I like texture in my ice cream and Handel's is really great at mixing the right ingredients/toppings in their ice cream. I recently got a Mud Pie and the brownie was made just right. Not too soggy, didn't have a weird taste to it. It was cold but still had a good chew to it. Parking is always easy to find although on busier nights, you'll have to park quite far and wait in a longer queue. I've only been here once during the day and there isn't much shade provided for the seated area. Honestly there isn't much seating in general which I can understand due to the way the location is. It would be ideal to improve the seating, if possible. Two tables with no umbrella/shade isn't appealing during hot summer days and you're stuck eating ice cream in the car.

What else to say about Chaupain, except it's always exceptional?…read more I'm biased - but their pastries have got to be the best in OC. This is the 3rd Chaupain location I've been to, I happened to be in the area. It's smaller than the one on La Paz in LN to be sure, but ample size enough to provide anyone with full tastes of their amazing goods. I like everything - I've tried nearly all of their pastries and cakes, this time I tried the cinnamon roll- which was insanely good, soft, and tasted of such quality. Actually - never tried their quiche, which is certainly on a bucket list for next time. I highly recommend everything they have - but just to name a new, the guava cream cheese, cinnamon cream cheese, mixed berry bateau, opera cake, vanilla scone, any of their croissants, lemon tiramisu, and the jamon sandwich is incredible - I love that the bread had a chewy texture, which is perfect for this sandwich. Adding any of the American condiments would almost be a sacrilege, but a bit of dijon is good, which they have there in packets- the flavours work so well together. I really struggle to restrain myself when coming here, which necessary for your wallet and your waistline - but whatever you decided it's all good here.
