I originally found them through Instagram because of all their adorable character macarons. Their mall storefront only had the regular macarons when I visited, so I'm assuming the character designs are more of a special-order item. Either way, the regular macarons were still so cute and, more importantly, delicious. They're much larger than the average macaron and have a very generous amount of filling. The shells are soft, moist, and almost cakey rather than dry or overly crisp, which I really liked. Flavor-wise, the passionfruit yuzu was a little more tart than I personally prefer, but the crème brûlée and raspberry rose were some of my favorites. Overall, such a cute spot with genuinely good macarons- not just pretty ones!

The dishes are approachable and familiar enough for children while still offering something different. They also have a sizable variety of macarons, with the Dubai macarons being a particular favorite. The pavlovas are beautiful, too. The owner recommended the hazelnut Raf Coffee, which has become my favorite. The interior is thoughtfully decorated, with plenty of plants that make the space comfortable. The furniture is nicer than what you typically find in a café, and they have a lovely jewelry display up front and a hi-fi music system that adds to the ambiance. The service is consistently friendly, and the staff are especially kind and patient with kids. We've had a good experience every time we've visited.

A lovely woman was dining alone and Jen asked her about her dish. It was the BBLT and she highly recommended it, especially if you love bacon (hence the B.B. - double bacon). With breakfast out of the way, we looked at all their bakery options. Jen selected their Bananas Foster Knock Knock and a Lemon Shortbread Square. I went with an Original Knock Knock and their Chocolate Decadent Cake. Jen liked her Knock Knock. I'm saving mine but sure I'll enjoy. The store is large enough to browse items and not feel like you are in the way of others. As for dining, good amount of seating outside. Noise depends on who's there and how many. This is now in our breakfast/lunch rotation. I look forward to trying their salads, sandwiches or perhaps a burger.

There were about four tables outside, and when I walked in, there were two display cases. One had beautiful, fancy-looking mini mousse desserts arranged so nicely, and the other was filled with different kinds of pastries. I really wanted a classic butter croissant, so I got one of those, an almond croissant, and an Americano to have with them. One thing that surprised me when I checked out was the price. A medium Americano was $6.50, the regular pastries were around $6 each, and the almond pastry was over $7. The prices felt pretty similar to what you might pay for pastries in France. At least they didn't ask for a tip when I paid, so I figured the higher prices probably already included some of that, which made me feel a little better about it. I went outside to sit down, but unfortunately, none of the tables had been cleaned or cleared yet. The empty tables were also sitting directly in the sun, so they were way too hot to sit at. (You all know how hot the weather has been in Orange County lately, right? ) I went back inside and asked if they could open one of the umbrellas, and they immediately came out, opened it for me, and I was able to sit down. I appreciated how quickly they helped. Now, about the croissants... I had pretty high expectations for the butter croissant because I had driven 20 minutes specifically because I wanted a really good one. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite what I had imagined or hoped for, so I was a little disappointed. The almond croissant was also much too sweet for my taste, and the center had a somewhat dense, doughy texture, so I couldn't finish it. There is a croissant I've had before that was **SO incredibly good**, and I've been searching for that perfect croissant ever since. I haven't found it yet. And honestly, the Americano was probably even more disappointing because of the price. At $6.50, I was expecting something special, but to me, it tasted pretty much like the $2 Americano I could get at a neighborhood donut shop. Maybe that's why the price bothered me even more. That said, I would still like to try the mini mousse desserts. They looked beautiful and definitely caught my attention. So maybe I'll come back another time and give those a try. I guess the search for my *perfect croissant* continues!
