I highly recommend going to Epi-Ya Boulangerie & Patisserie for all your sweet and savory pastry…read moreneeds. Their staff are friendly and greets you upon entering. Once you step in the smell of fresh bread instantly fills the air. Located in the Times Arcade Mall on Beretania, there is plenty of parking in front of the bakery. Whenever I go I always get their Curry Pan, Apple Muffin, Shio Butter roll, and White Bread. Curry Pan: nice crispy exterior, soft bread interior and good Japanese curry filling Muffins: light flavoring and airy, not dense Shio Butter Roll: good balance of salt and butter. It may look plain but it packs a lot of flavor. White Bread: soft, buttery and they can slice the bread to your desired thickness

She would sometimes have ham rolls and raisin breadsticks waiting for us afterschool. My coworker said they have the best croissants on island. They are indeed very similar to those I've had in Paris. My favorites from Epi-Ya? The custard pudding! While plentiful in Tokyo, not very many establishments will make or sell custard pudding. Because of this, I would get one almost everyday when visiting Japan The bread is baked fresh daily and everything is much lower in price (compared to other bakeries) It's always busy, so that just goes to show that the community also enjoys this beloved patisserie. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

SO freaking good! As a tourist, first of all, THANK YOU for being open so early! Sing Cheong Yuan…read moreBakery made our last morning in Hawaii so much easier. We were able to load up on delicious dim sum before heading to the airport and it was a great last stop. The half moons were AMAZING. I believe these are more popular here (I certainly haven't seen them on the east coast but will keep an eye out), and I know I'll be thinking about them when I'm back in NYC. The portions were MASSIVE! Seriously, the size of the dim sum here is something I'm going to miss. The black-eyed bean jung was another standout. Absolutely PACKED with filling, flavorful, and so satisfying. They do not skimp here! Everything felt generous, comforting, and delicious. I'm genuinely sad about not having this back home. An absolute must-visit, and definitely somewhere I'll be returning to the next time I'm in Hawaii!

Soft mochi rice and the meat and egg inside very tasty. 6/5 Steamed rice cakes are good, but not amazing. A little hard, but not sour. 4/5 The mochi is good, but not excellent. 4/5 Black seasame, coconut/peanut. Kind servers and bakers inside

So far I've only tried the breakfast items here a few times. The breakfast sandwich is different…read morebut good. I think the meat changes but it's usually some slice of meat rather than a sausage or bacon and there's also cooked greens on there that are a little different. The croissant items I've had have all been really good. Today I tried the quiche and it was very good and had a really tasty croissant crust. The egg and ricotta in there was really creamy and custard like. Mushrooms were good but I wonder if this would be even better with Hamakua mushrooms? It would mesh well with their use of local ingredients. The one negative is that the $3.75 coffee was TINY. Granted if you eat there I think you can refill it but kind of a rip off if you're getting things to go. The meat is all pretty pricy but it's local stuff so that's cool. There's also some unique things that you probably can't find elsewhere. I was excited to see venison pastrami and venison liver mousse. Hoping to try some of that stuff soon!

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. When fresh it crunches with every bite that you take. This time around we had the cinnamon roll, mango danish which had a chocolate mochi filling, and their char siu bun. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness. For the cinnamon roll, you honestly cannot forget get their cinnamon roll...It's flaky and again the frosting is not overly sweet. Can't wait to get another box of their pastries again soon.

I love Pipeline Bakeshops Malasadas! I have been to several Malasada places in Hawaii but | love…read morethere's the best for the following reasons: 1. the size of the malasadas: some restaurants tend to make their Malasadas smaller and when places do this it ruins the overall texture and quality of it. The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. They have ice cream, cakes, and other desserts Also tip: if you are ordering a malasada also order a coffee or a matcha drink to go with it. The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. I was having an issue with my online order because my phone was being glitchy and they were so nice in helping :) Also wanted to note their branding is so cute!! They even sell merch items too

LET ME BE CLEAR TO THE EMPLOYEES…read more YOU DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS AT THE RESTAURANT! The reason that people are having to literally fight off the birds from taking and eating their food is because the employees are FEEDING THE BIRDS. I watched an employee take the bread from the restaurant and feed the birds right in a corner of the restaurant. Then dozens of birds fly over and they don't leave. This is the second time I been here. The first time a bird flew into my face to grab bread out of my hand and then flew onto our table and in the bread basket to take our food. I wasn't upset about it and didn't say anything because I said whatever it happens. Now the second time after I saw and employee feeding the birds now I'm frustrated. You now feed the birds and they will never leave, and now they feel comfortable to fly into peoples plates and faces to take food from them. The employees created the problem and only make it worse now. Sit inside as much as possible. No wonder that place has a bird problem but every other outdoor restaurant does not.
