I will never buy anything from the Container Store again. Today, I went into the Container Store to buy six Intermetro wire shelves. They had only one in the size I needed, and I was told I could have them shipped to my house in 4-6 days or I could drive a half hour to the Glendale, Arizona, store, which had 7 in stock. I ordered them to be shipped. But then less than five minutes later I reconsidered and told them that would drive to Glendale to get them, so that I could finish my project today. I was told that they were not sure they could cancel the shipping order--five minutes later, on a Sunday! The salesperson logged on and the screen showed that I was charged, but the order had not been fulfilled (which is to be expected in a five-minute span on a Sunday). The salesperson tried to cancel it, and I stood there for over 200 seconds while the computer did not respond. So the salesperson called the Container Store support line, and I was told I would have to wait there for up to 15 minutes more (I had already invested 7) to find out if they could cancel the order. Container Store's system, she told me, is "highly automated." She disappeared and did not return until I asked another salesperson what was happening. The first salesperson came back and told me that they could not cancel the order. So I pulled out my Amex card, called customer support, and told them to dispute the $180 charge. As calmly as I could, I told the salesperson that I was canceling the order and disputing the charge and that I did not blame her, but it was not commercially reasonable to have an "automated" system that couldn't respond so that I could pick up THE SAME ITEMS from Container Store at a brick-and-mortar location rather than waiting a week to get it shipped. It was also not commercially reasonable, I suggested, to leave the customer standing there when I could have been nearly to the other store in that amount of time. I politely stated that not only did the Container Store lose that $180 sale, but it had lost a customer for good. To be honest, the sales staff did not seem to care. read more

The store I was spotless and spacious. You could find organized stuff of all different categories you could imagine. The staff there were pretty helpful and patient, who are ready to assist at any time. One thing I need to mention, their restroom is very clean and had been well taken care of . There were also water fountain in front of restrooms. Currently they have unprecedented(great) promotional sale going on storewide. They also offer to accept Bed bath and beyond's famous 20% coupon since BBB is not taking it any longer. In this way, the container store is in good faith to help college students out. read more

This is once of my favorite container stores. I regularly visit here for small storage and travel solutions, but have now had the pleasure of having the closet designers custom design and install the Elfa system for us. We've done about 10 closet/spaces in total. Shout out to Rhonda, this woman just gets things done. I've not had any issues with customer service/products; when there was an issue with an Elfa part, they quickly amended the issue within an hour, though I did drive back to the store to swap out the piece. Just lots of great experiences and solutions. Word of advice, this location can get busy, the experience is best for me when the visit allows for browsing as I'm waiting. read more

If Container Store doesn't have it, it doesn't exist in US anyhow.... I found about Container Store about 15 years ago, when this guy I met camping was giving us a tour of how he organized his camping gear in his SUV, using stacking clear plastic very sturdy boxes he said he bought at the Container Store. Buying this Elfa closet organizer (see photo) was one of the best investments I ever made. I bought it at Elfa's annual sale in Jan and Feb. I think it was 25% off. I paid $350 for these closet shelves around 2014, after my discount. You shoulda seen my closet before the shelving. It was one big deep box with all those shoes, not paired up, buried in this box. I had to dig and fish each shoe outta that deep cardboard box every day. Now all my shoes are paired, and I put shoes inserts, socks, and other things in the two drawers below. I like that the drawers are mesh you can see what is inside without opening them to find out. Container Store employee helped me design what you see here. The satisfaction lasts for years. Also Container Store was the only place where I found this spice rack that I could hang on my range hood using magnet hooks which I bought from Harbor Freight . Looks great making use of wasted space, where I could get the little items I use everyday off the cooking surface. That rack was pretty reasonable, about $9.00. I just called this 20th St location about a large stacking drawer 16" wide, 20" long and 9 inches tall which Sterilite used to make 18 years ago. It is no longer available. Container Store could not sell me a drawer large enough. No one I searched, Walmart, Target, Home Depot had these large drawers. But I always get good.service from this stores employees. read more

Do not come here if you are a person of color. I went in this week for some Tupperware. Immediately was followed around when I got into the store. I tried to ignore it but another employee followed me again around the store and spoke through their mic. I felt uncomfortable and was ready to leave without anything and a women at the register quickly ran up to see if I was stealing anything. This is place is so ignorant and racist. Do not shop here. I always have fun when I shop inside. I feel like it is Disney for my home and classroom needs. All your storage needs plus, and in one place. Of course you have helpful, friendly and fantastic staff. Yes, they cost more than at big box stores for sure but their quality is higher and the selection is greater. They also do those Pop sales and give coupons so that helps lower the price at times. They do birthday discounts too, or at least they did. I myself love their color tinted stackable drawers. They fit perfect in my narrow pantry. And if Amelia H is correct I am so proud of you guys. Thank you Container Store for your intelligence and research reviewing. Check receipt before you leave. Told they would honor the buy online pick up in store sale, They did not and now just give me the run around. If you buy a kit that isn't already in a box, where the store puts it together, double check pieces. Had to buy my own missing parts. Don't recommend store putting some parts together for you. Finally a centrally located container store. With all the recent new homes and apartment living along with all of us that live in the area this was a much needed store. Like all the other locations the container store is nicely displayed with over 4,000 items to choose from. Anything and everything to get your home or office organized. What I love about the container store is how everything is easy to find. The shelves and isles are easy to move through. The staff was super friendly willing to help you find what you need. My favorite area of the store was the closets. I would love to build my dream closet with all the shelving options they have. I stopped by the container store today by accident I was actually looking for Bed Bath and Beyond but was pleasantly surprised when I went inside. I was on the hunt for some pantry items including a lazy Susan and some storage baskets. They have all shapes, sizes and colors so many that I found myself changing my mind over and over again thank goodness I came alone to take as much time as I wanted. I enjoyed strolling the isles up and down just enjoying the many options that exist out there. I do have some advice make sure you sign up with your email before ever coming over you would get a 15% coupon which I did not know so missed out.. darn it! Have a plan when you enter and stay focused or come with lots of time they have stuff for every room in your home. The only downfall is they have limited stores and they all were very far away from the east valley which would likely cause me not to shop here often. Happy shopping! read more

They politely asked her to wear one, when she refused, they would not allow her to enter. This is what every store should do, but most do not have the ambition to do it. This one is probably a little smaller than the one in North Scottsdale but they still have a good selection of anything household and travel related that is container-like! As any organizational store should be, everything is clearly labeled and easy to find. The employees do not want to be working. 2 people PER HOUR and even then it has to be scheduled by appointment. The store is huge. This is taking social distancing to extremes. Then I was told i could order online and pick up but I'd have to schedule that appointment to. Never going back. This is not a doctor office. It's a store. Either open or don't but the employee who refused entry to 3 of us who drove up in separate cars because we didn't have appointments seemed really happy she didn't have to let us inside. read more

Because of this I'm not a huge fan of the store. I feel like I can find better deals on Amazon, IKEA maybe. I checked out this location the weekend it opened. This WAS a great store, however I have seen customer service decline over the last year. New manger? I'm baffled, the Container Store was always number one in customer service. I stopped by today to get a quote on an Elfa closet system. Three women were working in the department. One on a personal cell phone, the other two looking at a computer screen. I waited 30 minutes for help. Finally one came over, and acted like I was interrupting her day. I'll go to Ikea for the closet system. AND save 50%!! No more Container Store for me, not the way I was treated today. I don't mind paying high prices, but I expect excellent service. If I want poor service, I'll shop Wal-Mart, again saving 50%. read more

I don't understand the hype of this store. We bought soap dispensers that stopped pumping right within just a few months and a white tray that the paint chipped off. They wouldn't allow me to exchange because there was no receipt despite having a tag on it. Who keep receipts for soap dispensers?! This is an interesting place, and something of a unique concept, focusing primarily on containers and organization products. It's not -just- containers, as the name would imply, there are also things like calendars, notebooks, cleaning supplies, travel accessories, office/desk accessories, bathroom accessories, kitchen accessories (i.e. paper towel holders, funnels, etc.) and the like. If I had to draw a parallel to other places, I'd say this was something like the IKEA of containers. I've been here a handful of times now and usually always find something to take home. I particularly like the fact that they have a lot of office related supplies, in particular their selection of Rhodia notebooks. While you could buy Moleskine like every other millennial-bearded hipster in your office, why sport a Chinese made notebook when you can opt for the Rhodia, made in France with luxurious 90g paper? At least then, you'd be a connoisseur instead of a poseur, right? This place has a variety of Rhodia products, probably the only retail outlet I know that does, and I have gleefully and wantonly stocked up whenever I'm in there. I hope they continue to expand the selection too, because I would gladly throw more money in their direction. Apart from office supplies, they also carry a ton of kitchen accessories here. If you're looking for locking, air-tight containers for anything from cereal to brown sugar, they have just about every size you can imagine, in several brands actually. There's a literal wall of these on the Southern end of the store, so you can't miss it. What I like most about this place is that it's always got things you either haven't seen before, or at least not in a retail environment, and certainly brands you don't always see represented at other stores. There's really nothing quite like this place, certainly not in this area, so it's a welcome addition. While the store is very well kept, meticulously organized (really, would you expect any less given their moniker?), I had to offer some criticism, it would be some of the other customers. I hate to knock a star for this, but on multiple occasions, I've had to deal with people who let their young children run rampant, messing with products, knocking things over and running through the store screaming, just like the undisciplined savages they are. Not once have I seen anyone ask parents to control their kids, much less tell the children themselves to behave. I understand you don't want to cheese off potential customers by telling them to mind their unruly spawn, but most of the time these people leave without buying anything anyway. When I feel like I'm standing in a daycare center rather than a retail store, all I want to do is leave, not continue shopping. On balance, I still very much like the concept of this place, and especially the product selection. If I were just starting out in a new home, I could easily spend a small fortune here. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in that position, or anybody that just wants to check out something new and different. Definitely a fun place to spend some time browsing, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find anything to take home. read more

For a store based on the concept of creating order, this place was kind of a wreck today when I visited. Apparently they were resetting shelves, or restocking, or getting ready for Christmas? All of the above? Whatever it was, there was stuff all over the floors of the aisles to walk around. None of the employees I saw acknowledged me until I got up to the register. I asked where a certain item was and was told they were probably out if I couldn't find it. Waiting in line for the one cashier took quite some time. Another employee came over to help and was told there was only one working register. Is it a cool place? Yes! But the customer service aspect could use some help. read more

Let me start by saying we just spent several hundred dollars at this store. We picked up two items that showed a price of 24.99. When it rung up, it was 79.99. I took pictures of the tags and all the items, 2 shelves worth and showed it to the "manager." His attitude was leas than desirable. We did buy almost everything we came for but his attitude cost them our future business. Perhaps Container Store should invest a little bit of money to actually train managers on how to speak to and deal with customers. BTW, the "regular employees" were such a pleasure. It's a shame one bad apple can ruin a shoppers experience. read more

I adore this place. It's as soothing as a massage for OCD people. Everything has a place. The displays are logically arranged and in perfect color order. The staff is friendly and helpful. Some days I come just to walk around. I don't even want to tell you how much I have spent here. My one and only negative is that they keep promoting Real Simple magazine. (hear me out). Real simple's target market being women 30-50. They continue to advertise Premarin and associated products(prempro, duavee, etc). These products are actually dangerous and implicated in many cancers,as well as heart attacks and stroke. As if that wasn't bad enough, they have an entire animal abuse industry required to make them. Premarin = PREgnant MAre uRINe. Seriously. Look it up. I'm no Peta supporter, but that ain't right. read more

Fun place to go for ideas you never thought you would have or need. Christmas stuff is already out and Christmas music is already mixed in so be ready for it. A bit pricey on bigger items but seems like other prices are good. Will see what the holiday sales bring. Would have thought there would be some grand opening sales going since they are still so new! Be prepared for the yelling and cheering when someone signs up for the rewards program. I wanted everything in this store the moment I walked in they have everything you need to organize and store things at your house. Everything is pretty easy to find and the isles are big so you don't feel crowded when there are other people. The staff is friendly and greet you as you come in. The past couple times I went there were employees who went around asking if you need help with anything. The price is affordable, kinda depends on what you're buying. The prices are a bit high on some items, but there certainly are things in this store that you'll struggle to find elsewhere. The people working there are friendly and engaging but not overpowering. The container store makes it really hard to buy things. First their in store (on the floor) inventory is dismal. They have things in inventory in the back but you cannot really buy anything from that b/c you have to order it on line - even though you are standing in the middle of the store. Since they have so little floor inventory, they tell you to order it. However they also ask you to pay for everything when placing the order with some things taking WEEKS to get - all the time, they are holding your money. If you are a reasonably intelligent person, you can layout your own closet but they push you to make an inconvenient appt with one of their "designers". These folks are poor communicators that seem ill-suited to this job. They frustrate easily and are arrogant and entitled acting. I prefer not working with their "designers" but they make buying components very difficult. Finally, the workers are curteous but in a passive aggressive and/or fake nice way. I hate shopping in the container store - However since I bought into their overpriced, closet contraptions, I am kind of stuck. I do NOT love the container store - I used to, but no more. I suggest looking at other closet and storage options. read more

Wow.... I started on a remodel for my house late last year (2019). The entire reason for the remodel was to update my closet. Once construction began, we were so excited we went to the Container Store to design our closet! This was in December.... well as construction goes, we had delay after delay. When we were finally ready To install our $3000 closet it was mid April. When we opened the boxes and installation ensued, we realized the 16 x 18 ventilated shelves were cut too short (by the Container Store)!!! At this point Container Store was closed to the public due to Coronavirus. When I called, they let me know they were not accepting in store returns so I could not simply exchange the short ones for correct ones that I could cut myself to install. Instead I would need to order new ones online and after quarantine was over I could return the wrong ones .... fast forward to today, I am finally returning the shortened shelves. I know it's over the 120 day return policy, but I was not comfortable going to a store where everybody touches everything with the pandemic going on. Well the manager was quite rude and although she took them back, she did not honor the price I bought the new ones for and I was given store credit. If there was never the pandemic I would have exchanged the wrong ones for correct shelves. I am terribly disappointed in the customer service there and will not return. So... who out there wants to buy my store credit. read more
