This is more of a HEADS UP than a review. I had to experience it in order to understand it. Let me explain.... First, I'm NOT a "member". I went here for the Thanksgiving Brunch. Prior to this, I normally Thanksgiving Brunch at the Gaylord Texan each year. Their brunch is $100+ per person and I wanted to give the Constellation Club a try. PRIOR TO GOING: I made reservations over the phone. No credit card needed. Dress code expectation is business casual/ Sunday's Best. I was also told they validate parking. THE LOCATION: Easily found in the Irving/ Las Colinas area in the tallest building there. You'll know you found it because of the Mustangs statues in the front. Quick hint... valet is in the rear of the building. I parked in the garage area and took my ticket with me... to get validated. The club is on the 26th floor. Security is there to make sure you go to the right elevators. THE PLACE: Coming off the elevators (26th floor), you're greeted by folks at a table. The place has very modern decor and nice views of the city. On a clear day, you can see downtown Dallas, Arlington, and downtown Fort Worth. If you really know your city, you can see the 635/75 area and City Line in the distance. Great spot for taking selfies or taking in nice views. Anyways... Someone pulls your reservation. I was asked to pay ahead of time. Four people at $60 a piece, I paid a little over $300. Apparently there was a service charge that I wasn't told about over the phone. I ask about parking validation and was told that it was for members only. After some back and forth and back and forth and even more back and forth, they made an exception and validated my parking. Keep in mind, I was told they were validating parking for Thanksgiving (over the phone). I'm big on accountability. The gratuity was technically included but you get the option to tip additional. I would have tipped additional had there not been a service charge. The way I see it, if I can be surprised about a service charge, they can be surprised that I wasn't spending additional money. To me, the service charge was their tip. THE FOOD: After finding a seat (you sit anywhere), you go to the brunch buffet. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Scrambled eggs that look like they were made with powder. Bacon, apple sausage, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, ham, turkey, and bland chicken wings. There was a separate room for deserts.... pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, etc. Overall, the bacon, mashed potatoes, and turkey were winners. Everything else was either bland or average. STAFF: The wait staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. OVERALL: It was a decent experience I did ONE TIME. It was also cool to find out what was in that tall building that I'd always drive by. WAS IT WORTH $60 ($300 for four people)? NO. Absolutely not. You have to keep in mind that besides the food (which was nothing to write home about), and the views of the city, there's nothing else to do. You're there to eat and leave. It's Thanksgiving and the area is a ghost town. It's not like you can take a walk and get into another activity. Coming full circle, this is why I mentioned the Gaylord Texan as a measuring bar. The Gaylord Texan validates parking if you eat the Thanksgiving brunch. You don't have to be a member. You can walk the resort and appreciate the decor... or participate in other activities. It's festive. Yes, the Gaylord is $100 per person but the food options are endless and taste amazing. I wouldn't do the Constellation Club again. I certainly didn't see the value in joining as a member. Definitely a one-time experience for me. I recommend going there for a drink (if they'll allow it) and checking out the views of DFW. If they want to keep it exclusive, let them have fun with that. It's not worth it. read more

All I can say is WOW! I had an amazing tour with Frank, he's in charge of memberships and not only was he super outgoing, charming and friendly but it was almost like talking to myself?! He shared different tidbits about the club, the members and some great events they host weekly. They have an amazing promotion going on right now to join as a member - the dues you pay go straight back towards a food and beverage credit. So the membership essentially pays for itself not to mention access to 160+ clubs and golf courses both domestically and international. I was really impressed with the decor, furniture, cleanliness and the quality of food. Everything tasted soooo good, compliments to the chef! I was told the menu changes with the season. My best friend and I enjoyed our dinner with the view, too. 10/10 experience. read more

I made reservations for the traditional Thanksgiving brunch. I was so disappointed that several of my favorite traditional dishes were not there. No dressing or stuffing. No sweet potatoes. No green beans or green beans casserole. Personally, cornbread dressing is not optional for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. It is required! They had a pre carved turkey and ham, as well as swordfish. Mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots, Mac and cheese. At least 50% was breakfast food. I did not pay $77 apiece for eggs and bacon. I thought the actual Thanksgiving buffet was really inadequate There were also wings and a salad station. Desserts were very good... pies, cookies, tarts, and pumpkin cheesecake. Service was good, but all we needed were drinks. The view is amazing from the 26th floor. read more

Even though this is a club, you may be able to find somebody to invite you up for an evening. The views are excellent looking over both Dallas Fort Worth in Arlington to the south from the bar and restaurant and club area and the private meeting rooms are looking north and east The renovation recently has brought it up to modern decor standards and very chic. There's always a warm greeting when you come in the door and if you remember, I'm sure something you'd enjoy a few times a week at lunch or breakfast or after our drink they have a rotating specials menu and a full service bar. Good spot to come for a business lunch or tryout in case you're interested in joining in addition we posted many group private dinners for our company as we're based in the building and it's super convenient and always well done. read more

This is my second time as a guest at the Club Corp property. Both times have been excellent service and amazing views. The accommodations are absolutely beautiful!! Valet and parking services are available and validated at the front desk. The happy hour has awesome at one dollar wine drinks starting at 4:30p. Our awesome bartender, Alem, was very friendly and made tasty Rose sparklers. It's never crowded very exclusive dining/meeting experience. I am highly considering becoming a member to take part when I'm traveling for work. Nice place to bring your clients that's exclusive and away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital or a busy office. As a side note each bathroom "stall" has its own private sink. read more

My company had a dinner here and the food was great. The view was wonderful, and the cocktail drinks were pretty good. However, the service at the bar was not great. My colleague and I decided to show up earlier to check out the drinks and maybe pregame but we were all standing around for about 30 minutes until we were asked what our drink order was. By that time, our event was already starting. There were a lack of number of bartenders. There were many people and about one bartender who was getting people drinks. There were a few waiters/waitresses that were there and walking through. I think one or two were also behind the bar but didn't bother asking anyone for our drinks. One was even cleaning up. So I'm not sure what the actual story or reason was, but maybe asking your customers what they want or at least telling us you'll get to us after a few customers would be helpful. read more

As a lifelong resident of Irving, I have been going to this private club since it opened as La Cima. The restaurant has recently been remodeled, and the name has changed to the Constellation Club, which I am currently a member. I took two guest for lunch last week and had to actually look for staff to help me with only one other table occupied on the entire floor. We ordered an appetizer and asked what the soup of the day was, the staff member did not know and said they would be right back.. They never came back, so we were sitting there with our glasses of water I had to go the gentleman working the bar to take our orders. This is very embarrassing for a restaurant, but even worse for a private club, which we pay a monthly charge to be a member. The food was good once our orders were taken. When I tried to call and voice my concerns to the general manager on February 6, I was sent to voicemail twice and then when I called back, I was told the general manager was in a meeting. I voiced my displeasure and was hung up on. To me, that is totally unacceptable. I will make a personal visit so I can actually talk to somebody without being hung up on. read more

I recently had a work lunch outing at La Cima Club in the heart of Las Colinas. Located on the 26th floor (the top), the restaurant is lined with windows, so the views were spectacular. We all opted for the buffet. We arrived early, so there were no lines to endure. The red snapper was cooked perfectly. Small, but nice variety, of a salad bar. They only offered balsamic and ranch dressing, so it was unfortunate for those of us watching our calories. The "crab dip" was...well, strange. It was more like crumbly crab cake, thick and dry. Dip is normally creamy, right? It seemed to be the topic at our table, which was funny. "Is this crab dip or some kind of crab cake??" The service was quick but not very friendly. We had a reservation, so they knew in advance the number in our party. The waitresses tried to fit us all in at a table that obviously would not accommodate all of us comfortably. When we asked to be seated elsewhere, one of the waitresses looked a little perturbed. I did not see the tab at the end of our meal, but I can imagine it was not cheap. They offered a buffet during lunch, but I opted for the turkey and gouda sandwich and a side salad. The turkey sandwich was REALLY good, and the side salad was just a side salad. A terrific place to meet for dinner, an event, or a business meeting. Spacious dining areas and they're well appointed and maintained as well. Staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. Although my stop here was just to have coffee and conversation with a dear friend, I can imagine this being an awesome spot to hold events of many kinds, whether a wedding, an upscale party, etc. There is a lot of development planned for the surrounding areas so La Cima Club will continue to be in the middle of where all the action is. You get beautiful views of many parts of Dallas from this 26th story location. My visit was during the daytime - on a clear and sunny day - and I could see all of Irving and even Downtown Dallas from here. I can imagine views at nighttime would be similarly if not even more breathtaking. They have valet parking right up front or you can opt to park in the nearby garages. Minor detail but even the restrooms are well appointed and maintained. I've been to several "upscale" venues where I couldn't easily say that so it's not such a minor detail to me. read more

We visited this beautiful club on a Friday evening and it was nearly deserted. They have a nice location at the top of the tallest building in Los Colinas. Their bar server, Alem, has been there for over 20 years and does an outstanding job with members. The mini buffet with brightly colored cheeses and mini cordon blue appetizers was a welcoming sight. The pre-meal wines were enjoyable and so was their pianist. The bacon wrapped scallops and crab cakes were tasty; albeit there could have been a lot more crabmeat and the scallops could have been larger. The spinach and goat cheese salad was good. It came with a light balsamic dressing. The Wasabi Caesar was a letdown. There was not enough romaine lettuce and the wasabi peas were too mild. The grilled Mahi was tasty with mango chutney, grilled asparagus, and totally decadent potato hush puppies. The Wagyu filet arrived well done despite being ordered medium. The second time it showed up medium rare. The grilled Brussel sprouts were fine. Their bread pudding was off the charts yummy and the brownie sundae with cherries was just OK. The brownie was a mediocre version. This place is a refreshing refuge from the DFW traffic turmoil and should be patronized better by local members. read more

We took some friends to dinner on Friday night. Wasn't busy at all but very nice ambiance. The food was another story. I ordered lamb rare and my husband ordered the filet very rare; our guests ordered fish with a side of Brussels sprouts and a salad starter. The salads were brought out and so were the Brussels sprouts which was a little strange because all entrees are ala carte, so it should have been obvious that the side was to go with their main course. Given that there were only two other couples in the restaurant, it took a very long time for our food to arrive. When it finally did, my lamb and my husband's filet was medium well- no pink even much less a cool middle. Very disappointing given all the hype about the new chef. I left most of my lamb and told our server to let Chef know we weren't happy. His reply was, "she isn't here", not I'm sorry or anything other statement about the food. For both our recent client workshop and advisory board meeting, the beautiful views and delicious meals were complemented by the great service from the event-planning team, the servers, and other Club staff - they were very accommodating even with some last-minute printing needs that we had for our presentation. Room rental rates as well as meals are all well priced considering how nice of a space it is and the quality of the food. We will definitely be back for future events! read more

So we visited La Cima club on Saturday night and enjoyed the spectacular views. La Cima club was very quiet and enjoyable offering a perfect atmosphere for fun conversation with friends. When we went to the main dining room the waitress was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and did a great job overall. The table attendants were also very good. Where's the love for La Cima? We had our company holiday shin dig here. The view is amazing. I mean, it's hard to concentrate on anything when you have the 26th floor view of the lake with Downtown Dallas on the skyline. BEAUTIFUL. Our room was great. And the menu was amazing especially for the price. I shopped around. A good menu for a holiday party will usually run you about $70+ with a $2,000 minimum plus tax and 20% service charge. The menu we had was only $55--choice of filet mignon, salmon, parm crusted chicken or Mediterranean pasta. Of course the salad, sides, amazing desserts and coffee/tea/soda was included. We also did passed hor dourves. The steak was so tender you could eat it with a spoon. The key lime tart was the best I've had. The service was spot on. My drink glass was never short on 7&7. And there was always someone handy to help out, even when we had an unexpected guest and a place setting needed to be added discreetly. Things went so well that I'm sure we will have next year's party there as well. Kudos to you La Cima. Smooth planning and nice people. read more

I have been to La Cima Club a few times and always leave feeling my bank account was just robbed. Not sure why a dinner at this Club should be near $100 a person. The Food is just OK and of course the service is above average..the View is OK if they seat you next to the windows, but for the price I can think of better places to eat for a lot less and still have that WOW and special feeling you get from eating at a fancy restaurant. I would think they might want to revaluate their pricing in this economy. Not sure I'll be back here on my dime. read more

** Review for the dining experience I expected much better service and food from this restaurant, seeing that it looked and was priced like a high end restaurant.. but I have had much better experience elsewhere. The service was not that great, host didn't pull our chairs out or in for us (which I expect at most high end restaurants) then the waiter didn't take away the wine glasses after we said we weren't going to order wine. I had to ask him to remove them after the appetizers were done. To top off my amazing experience the menu itself did not accurately represent the food that came out. Prime example - my appetizer was salt and pepper shrimp. No where on the menu did it state the shrimp was going to be fried. If I had known that I wouldn't've ordered it. But surprise surprise - shrimp came out fried. It was also basically a full blown entry. Another example - I ordered the lemon pepper macademian nut coated bass (or whatever) .. on the menu it didn't state that it would be served with cilantro coconut rice with spinach underneath. The portions were also unusually large for a fine dining restaurant... I don't think this is a "everything is bigger in Texas" because I've been to other fine dining restaurants where their portions were small.. To each their own. These mishaps would've probably been overlooked if it wasn't supposed to be a fine dining experience.. but it was, and it came with the fine dining bill. I'm not eager to return to this restaurant in the future again, but it was an experience. read more

I am not a member, but twice my company has held events at this location. Both times the food was mediocre and the service was poor. Perhaps if you are paying member they make a bit more of an effort. But I can't say I would ever give them another chance. Some specifics There was no one at the front to greet us when we arrived. The server told to use small desert plates, because he didn't want to go get dinner plates. When we found someone up front to request plates were asked "why didn't you just tell your server?" The irritation by staff, at being asked to do their job, was palatable. The meal was served buffet style but with out enough deserts for every guest. They knew the exact number of guest. When we asked for enough deserts for everyone, they wanted to charge us extra. We had already paid for meals, that included deserts, for everyone. The food was DRY probably from having been set out too far in advance. The food taste like cafeteria food, not a chef prepared meal. I could go on, but you get the point. This may be a place to rub elbows with other business people, but I have no interested. read more

Although the view of downtown Dallas is spectacular its depressing looking down at Las Colinas at the green water and the unfinished tram line. It literally goes into a field and then just ends. As a private club, it certainly had that uppity feel. "That's right, I'm Ave Froman." It was buffet style to my chagrin and the offerings were sparse. About 6 toppings and iceberg lettuce made up the salad bar, 1 soup, and 3 main entrees to choose from. I thought the braised lamb was the fanciest so I loaded up on that although with a veggie medley. There was too much fat on it and the sauce was bland. It was not so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking somewhere else. ok, enough ferris. read more

I can't imagine memberships would be all that much because how much should it cost to effectively buy a membership to a nice restaurant but I have been wrong before. It is a nice place with an awesome view. If you lived or worked a lot in Las Colinas I could see joining it. The club (which seemed mostly to be a restaurant) is on the 26th floor of Williams Square and has a really amazing view. I went for lunch but I think it would be fun to go there for dinner and be able to see all the lights of Dallas. I had the hamburger for lunch which was cooked just as i asked and the fries were good and had some extra spices on them. They had a buffett and also all sorts of menu options that all sounds good. My husband surprised me by bringing me to La Cima Club for my birthday. Upon arriving at the Tower, there was absolutely zero signage for the restaurant. Thankfully I had a general idea of the location because my mom worked at the towers in the 90's. We struggled to find the appropriate place to park, finally we located a security guard. He was ZERO help in telling us where to park or where to go into the building. Finally we parked in the garage and began the journey to find the restaurant. Eventually we made our way up to the La Cima Club. Immediately upon walking in, we realized this was not the club for us. The lobby was ok, relatively new and stylish chairs and decore, however once we turned the corner into the dining room the entire feel changed. Greeting us were outdated, dusty, chandeliers, which were missing about half their bulbs, along with horrendously dated carpets, and about 3 other occupied tables. (BAD sign) My husband and I tried to grin and see past these things. When we sat down at the table the hostess neglected to leave the wine list, despite me asking for it. It took several minutes for anyone to come to our table. In that time frame we took a look at the menu, and decided this was not the place for us. All of the food options felt pretentious. Ultimately we opted to leave before even getting water poured. This restaurant may have been wonderful in its' prime, however it felt like a sad excuse for luxury dining. read more
