Recently opened. Very long wait but totally understand. Great vibe lots of TVs. Gonna give it to you straight and not sugar coat. Beer selection is great. How many places have Kona big wave on tap? Common room does! Burgers are good. Friends have told me me salads aren't great. Avoid the pizza. It's terrible hard dough with sauce from a can. Takes up a ton of room on the menu and is awful. I want to try the wings next as I hear those are decent. All in all come here for the drinks,burgers and apps. Probably not a dinner destination, at least not yet. Staff is great, all the wait and bar staff are awesome. I truly hope they can up level their food. read more

Glad we were able to try this place without a long wait. Went on a Tuesday evening so there were plenty of tables. Definitely an odd shaped restaurant so TV's could not be seen if you were seated at a booth so not exactly a "sports-type" restaurant where you can hang and watch a game. We ordered calamari for apps, steak tips, chicken broccoli and ziti, burger and salad w salmon. There were 4 of us. The calamari app was not enough for 4 to pick at, I'd say there was probably only a cup full of calamari. Same for the steak tips..portions are small. Overall, food was very tasty, price seems reasonable altho they could give a bit more for portions. Also thought using Latina Kitchen labeled water glasses were kinda cheesy! Noticeable...maybe remove the name! Service was ok. Had to ask to refill our water glasses. I wouldn't rule out going back tho. read more

After a few attempts to dine at the Common Room, I got lucky! We went on the early side because it was a Friday night and this place is a very popular spot. All the reviews I have heard have been amazing so I really wanted to find out for myself. It was all that and more! The decor is just what I expected, modern and inviting. The bar section was busy with a crowd having a fun time. We were seated on the other side and there were plenty of available seats but they soon filled up. We were greeted pleasantly by a fun, informative waitress, Alex. She was attentive to our needs and her suggestions were great. Our food was delicious, served promptly and there was plenty of it. The owners stopped by our table and other tables to ask how the food was and if we needed anything. This place was great! We all enjoyed our meals, the service and we were not rushed. I highly recommend The Common Room and am looking forward to going back. read more

The common room hosted a fundraiser for our high school's best buddies program on 1/2/25. Tommy and his staff put on a fantastic event for over 50 people. They constantly refilled the buffet food and sodas and the service was excellent! The food was delicious! We especially enjoyed the pretzel bites, chicken tenders and pizza. We also appreciated the gluten free option! The ambiance was also perfect for an event. We plan on going back in the future and I will definitely be going there to eat in the future! read more

I was here like a month ish ago, and I got chicken tenders and fries it was DISGUSTING. The chicken tenders tasted like leftover chicken that was microwaved. And the utensils you could see the dirty dish water on it. Do NOT spend your money here. read more

Four of us went to dinner for the first time at the Common Room. We ordered two different burgers, eggplant parm and the steak tips. All of us enjoyed our meals. I thought the wings were great. We ordered honey BBQ but seems like we got buffalo. They were a little on spicy side for some. Spicy margarita was good. As were the other drinks. We hope this restaurant is a Needham mainstay for years to come. Some suggestions from our group. 1) Buns for burgers could have been better. 2) The back tables around the corner should be separated from where the staff is folding napkins / sorting the silverware. read more

We just had our high school reunion at the Common Room. Everything was fantastic and we appreciated the local venue. Easy to get to, convenient free parking, great space, food was yummy and atmosphere spectacular! We appreciate all the convenience and flexibility that the owners and staff provided. Many gluten free options. my husband got the eggplant parm, which he said was very good. I had gf pizza, which was outstanding. we had our 2 grandkids and the staff were more than accommodating. Unfortunately had a terrible experience here. On both Yelp and their website, it states that they close at 11pm. When we arrived around 9pm on a Friday night we were told we needed to put in our food ASAP (unless it was apps) since the kitchen would be closing. This was after we called and were told the kitchen would be closing early, but not until 9:15/30. While I understand kitchens do close early than the actual closing time of places often, it does not indicate anywhere on the website that this is the case. Again, we called ahead and were told a different time of when the kitchen was closing. I had the pizza which was fine, however a few folks in my party said they could not eat their meals due to how bad the meat tasted. I enjoyed my drink but other folks in my party did not enjoy theirs. Our waitress seemed very nice at first however after the kitchen decided they were going to close she ended up being rude and we felt extremely rushed by her to finish up/box up our meals. We were only there for about an hour, as we felt unwelcome and could tell the folks who were working wanted us to get out of there so they could get out as well. I do not expect anyone ever to stay late, but again, the closing time does say 11pm, and we arrived at 9pm. We were basically (forced) to pack up our food by 9:40. We were sat next to the kitchen which also gave off the vibe of being extremely chaotic, which is normal for a kitchen, however you could tell they all wanted to leave as well (and we did hear quite a bit of yelling coming from the kitchen). Overall all of the employees around us made us feel weirdly uncomfortable and unwelcome. I think I could have forgiven the meh food and drinks since this place just opened, however the experience we had service wise was awful, and I would not recommend this place to anyone I know due to this. read more
