I've been getting cut by these guys for over two years at their previous spot. When I found out they were starting up their own shop I had to know where. For me going to the barber is like therapy and finding a good barber (therapist) is difficult. Once you finally do you keep em. Just like a favorite place to eat, a favorite pair of shoes or a favorite pair of jeans, you know its perfect and the search is over. That rings very true here. This place is excellent and these guys are very talented, accommodating and thorough. You can't go wrong. It has sort of an old world quaint feel to it with a modern touch. Best of both worlds. Anything you need from a touch up to the works with a straight razor shave. The results are a true display of a skilled hand. You'll even get roped into some comedic banter and enjoy a good laugh. The studio itself is awesome. I love what they have done here. I am in a way envious of the fact they they had their own ambitions and ideas and they made it a reality. Very cool to see it come to life and only on day two you can tell it will grow into something great. Congratulations guys. Glad to see it at the start. Much success to you and your future. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

TLDR - Best cut and overall barbershop experience in ATL. In the past, I've been to many American and Asian barbershops throughout Atlanta. I met Rob about a year ago and now the Commodore is the only place that I will ever go to for a haircut or trim. At some other places, it usually goes something like this: 1) Give instructions on your cut, 2) Get a cookie-cutter haircut somewhat to how you wanted it, 3) Pay and leave within 20-25 minutes, and finally 4) Pray that your hair grows back quick. At the Commodore, Rob and Adrian fully understand what you want. If you're a bit unsure what you want stylistically, they'll give you honest and good feedback on what would work for you. Most importantly, the guys at the Commodore have the actual ability to give you the cut that you want and their attention to detail is second to none. In my dozen trips or so to the Commodore in the last year, I've always been happy about the haircut and experience I have received. Not only is the haircut fresh after cut, but also grows out very nicely (which is usually extremely difficult to accomplish). Definitely have to recommend the Commodore! Hands down the best cut you'll get. 10/10 would recommend! read more

First time posting a Yelp review and this place deserves it! This was my first visit to The Commodore Tonsorial Parlor and it was a great experience before I even walked through the door. I sent an inquiry via Yelp and within a few minutes Rob called back letting me know he just had a cancellation and could fit me in. He even took a few minutes to discuss what I was looking to do with my cut--very accommodating and thorough. The place itself has an awesome aesthetic. It has a very clean, mix of modern and throwback parlor feel. Good music, assortment of beverages, plus how many places have a shuffleboard table to use while you wait? All added perks that make it worthwhile. Now for the important part....the haircut itself was honestly the best I ever had. Emma was absolutely great and clearly takes pride in what she does. Like Rob, she took a few minutes to understand what I wanted to do and made sure it was done properly. There were no shortcuts taken. Everything is done with precision. You definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth and the proof is in the results. Emma and Rob both earned a new customer in me! Very excited to continue going back! read more

Came in lookin' like Gimli, went out looking like an underwear model. Let me begin by saying if the countless other 5 star ratings haven't convinced you that this is the best barber shop in Atlanta, please take my word (and the 56 other people) for it! Rob and Adrian are the best at their craft and the attention they pay to both detail and their customers is unprecedented. I hadn't had a hair cut since December 2014 and was rockin' the full on manbun/viking beard. I was going in for "The Commodore" (haircut and shave combo), chopping off the locks and the beard. Rob asked me what I wanted, offered his own suggestions and then made the end result look better than I could have ever imagined. Rob gave me a perfect fade and gave the closest, most comfortable shave of my life. Adrian put it best when he said, "You came in lookin' like Gimli from Lord of the Rings and went out looking like an underwear model." I cannot recommend this place and these guys more strongly. I live an hour away but I will definitely be back as long as I live in the area. read more

When Adrian first cut my hair a little over a year ago, I knew right away I wasn't going to anyone else -- ever. His attention to detail, craftsmanship and incredible clipper-wielding skills are what makes every hair cut I get look, well, pretty damn amazing. In fact, after each cut, I usually have to take a stroll through the mall and pass a few mirrors to witness how good the cut looks in public. Vain? Maybe, but I blame Adrian's master touch more so for making me this way. And now that Adrian and Rob have opened up their own shop, the experience is even better. With antique barber/massage equipment, a big screen TV and relaxing chill music, you're definitely getting the ultimate hair cut package. Bottom line: Go to the Commodore Tonsorial Parlor if you want the real deal. This is how you're supposed to get your hair cut. And if you have a beard, don't you dare let anyone else touch it, except for Adrian or Rob. read more

I've been a loyal customer at Commodore Chamblee for almost two years now, and I can confidently say that this is one of the best barber shops in town. The staff's exceptional customer service is a major factor in the experience always being top-notch. In particular, I have to give a shout-out to my barber, Pete. He's a true professional who takes his craft seriously, and it shows in the quality of his work. Every time I sit in his chair, I know I'm in good hands. He takes the time to listen to what I want and always delivers a flawless haircut that exceeds my expectations. Overall, I can't recommend Commodore Chamblee and Pete's services enough. If you're looking for a barber shop with excellent customer service and talented barbers, this is the place to be. Thanks for always keeping me looking sharp, Pete! read more

Expensive, but worth it, because you'll get a perfect haircut. And it looks good for weeks. I just went 6 weeks without a haircut (normally go 4 weeks), and unless someone looked closely, it still looked good - didn't look like I "needed" a haircut. That's a great haircut. Customers and barbers are mostly twenty somethings, but there are older customers, and I'm decidedly middle-aged, and they're as polite and welcoming as they would be for anyone; the owner does a great job hiring all around "good" guys, aka gentlemen. Brandon K. is my usual barber. Love the way I can be vague and general (e.g. I just want a nice haircut), and that's all Brandon needs to know. That's a great barber. Make yourself an appointment. read more

This place is amazing. I started getting my hair cut by Rob the owner a few months ago. I was immediately impressed by his shop. It is clean, has a great look a feel, and he will even offer you a beer, water, soda etc. Better than that though, he has the skills to back it all up. Rob does great work and is by far the best barber I have seen in Atlanta. These guys have now expanded operations by adding a few more staff members, so if scheduling was a challenge in the past, it shouldn't be anymore, although I still recommend booking in advance as possible since they are increasingly getting more and more popular. Definitely check these guys out, they are changing the game as it relates to fine Atlanta barbershops. read more

Took my son to The Commodore for a cut with Peter and he came out looking stellar. Peter did an exceptional job and was also really very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional without being stuffy. my son is super happy, as am i. Peter did exactly what i was looking for without having to give him a bunch of specific instructions, he just knew what to do to make my kid look good. in fact, every gentleman i saw come out of The Commodore looked really rather dapper, not one man left looking bad or unhappy. definitely recommend. the wait time isn't long, the prices are good, the stylists are stylish and they've got shuffleboard. come on, what more could you ever want? thanks Peter! we'll be back soon. read more

Growing the beard was easy, finding a talented Barber to help me tame this beast was a problem. Well that problem is solved. When I decided to let my beard grow, I had a certain look that I ultimately wanted. I couldn't find anyone who would help with that vision. Adrian at The Commodore Tonsorial Parlor is the answer to your Tonsorial dilemma. These men are artists; passionate about their craft, dedicated and true to their Art. They have created in Commodore a place for men to enjoy the experience of being groomed. A true barber shop, like from the days of our fathers fathers. I drive from Athens to have Adrian cut my hair and train this beast that resides on my chin. No one else will do. read more

The first time I went to the Commodore I was new in town and I randomly picked up Peter, when I'm done I came out with the best haircut I ever had before, so I went the second time. This time I wanted to get a shorter haircut my I'm always very prudent about it because my had has a weird bone structure and is not the prettiest with very short hairs. Peter took the time to analyze my head conformation and he gave me a haircut perfect for my head. This was the first time I was happy coming out from a barbershop with a very short haircut and one more time I got the best haircut I ever had. Definitely worth your money if you want a professional WELL MADE haircut! read more

This place is the real deal. For the longest time, I settled for the cheap Great Clips or Supercuts experience, not seeing the value of paying for a quality haircut - this mindset totally changed once I checked out the Commodore a year ago. Rob, Brandon M, Brandon K, and Zach are all exceptional at what they do. The attention to detail you see in the photos of their Chamblee store are exactly what you get in a haircut. They are each creative geniuses in their craft. The Commodore is a special place - they have elevated the haircut experience in Atlanta. Do yourself a favor and check them out - you won't regret it! read more

I was in need of a haircut and was never happy with any of the places that I had been to. My wife kept telling me to try the Commodore. She said it looked great from the outside. I checked out reviews and found who I wanted to book with, but they had nothing available in my time preference. It was holidays and I wanted it done. I made the appointment and it placed me with Joe. I have long hair and wanted it trimmed, layered and shaped up. He did a great job and it was exactly what was needed. I immediately was getting compliments from people, even on my way home. I highly recommend the Commodore and Joe! Thanks! read more

This is the first barber shop that have exceeded my expectations. Hopefully they will continue to do great work. I had Brandon Kim. Even though he's a younger barber, he's very good at his craft and knows what he's doing/ talking about. He gave some tips on how to style my hair so it lays naturally flat and even spent a little extra time to perfect the cut. The complimentary shave and hot towel at the end was a nice touch. I've tried looking for a good barber in the Greater ATL area for years without any luck but finally found it. The price seems high for a mens barber but it turned out to be well worth it. read more

I've been to the Commodore twice now and Rob has done nothing but impress. From the extremely easy booking to Rob texting me to let me know he got caught in traffic, it was a great experience. He listened to me when I told him what I wanted done to my hair and had the skill to pull it off. His lineups were on point and the fade was flawless. I'm pretty picky with who I let cut my hair but I'm extremely satisfied with Rob. I've already recommended him to several people. If you want a great haircut and a few laughs definitely give these guys a shot! read more

Classic and exceptional and the same time. This is best way I can describe my experience. Rob and Adrian are masters at their craft. Producing some of the cleanest and chic haircuts for men out there. I appreciate their candor in helping clients choose a style to go with. Rob was my barber and was very detailed in giving me a "foil fade" that has received so many compliments from family and friends. I drive from Marietta to their shop in sandy springs for the outstanding service and would recommend them to any guy looking for a cut read more

Made an appointment with Rob for my son's wedding based on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. I'm pretty particular about how my hair looks and Rob got it spot on. Smoothest fade ever and my Pompadour looks fabulous. They've transformed their small space and given it a classic barbershop feel--vintage chairs and an antique cash register. Rob is a great guy--he made me immediately feel at home and we connected straight off. I like to try different barbershops, but I can't see myself going anywhere else. read more

Went in and got the Mastercut from Adrian. My hair is very thick and the fade I get usually takes a while and is fairly hard to do because of my hair texture, but Adrian took his time and makes sure everything is the way I like it! First time I've ever had my hair shampooed and conditioned at a barbershop and it was great! The service and atmosphere at Commodore Tonsorial Parlor is very welcoming and friendly! I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a great barber and barbershop to come here and give it a try! read more

I was Rob's first customer when he moved to Atlanta, and he's been cutting my hair ever since. I was of course going to follow him to The Commodore Tonsorial Parlor. I knew it would be fantastic because of who was involved. I went last week for the first time and was blown away. It's a great space, vintage (comfortable) chairs and great art work. It's a great place to get a haircut and you can't go wrong with Rob or Adrian. If you have a beard, make sure to get some of Adrian's beard oil as well. read more
