If you're looking for a new barber shop, this is your place! I come here to see Peter, but all of the barbers are all very talented. Peter not only does great skin fades but does a amazing job cutting my beard. Right when you walk in they always greet you and see if you need a beverage. They always have great music on and the shop is always clean and smells like fresh peppermint. Go give them a try! read more

Danny took time to talk to my son about what he really wanted. He's very particular about his hair & Danny listened & made sure it was perfect. Great atmosphere. Professional & so clean. We'll be back! read more

Well, you get one good hair cut and one bad hair cut. Good thing hair grows back, the draw back is I have to wear a hat for weeks, thank goodness I work from home. And just to clarify, my first visit was exactly how I wanted it. The second visit was a complete train wreck. I went in for a trim/clean up around the sides and back and a little off the top. I have or had a side part with long hair to leaving with a flat top with short hair. Like I'm ready to join the military. The cut is awful. Guess I'm going back to my old stylist to fix this train wreck. Now I need 4-6 months to grow back to its previous length. This cut ranks as one of the worst I've had in a long time. read more

The business itself is very cute on the inside and all of the barbers seem very experienced. They also provide a vibe and an environment that is very comfortable and modern. I myself got a master barber haircut. My barber was Chris W and he was fantastic. I have now gone to him twice and will keep returning as the quality and the style was perfect. Would highly recommend this location and this Barber read more

Excellent barbers and a very nice pepperminty (is that a word?) smelling place. My spouse enjoyed getting his pre-interview haircut there. The prices are a bit high for a haircut, but everything is expensive nowadays. read more

The price keeps climbing and the quality continues to decline. When you walk in, you're pretty much invisible to the staff. You'll want to hunt down the person you have an appointment with only to find him sitting in the barber chair on his phone. Prepare yourself for a wild conversation about his run ins with the law, his drug of choice, and blow by blow account of most recent breakup. When you're finished, you pay (and pause in horror because you realize you just paid $85 with tip for a horrible experience) and run to your car. When you get home you look in the mirror and see how jacked your cut was and you start calling around to find someone to fix your mess. Now, to be fair, I've gone before and have had better experiences. However, this "master barber" nonsense is a gimmick and I'm never going back. read more

Rich is an amazing barber AND person. What a great experience and a stylish barbershop!

I've been getting cuts at The Commodore (in Chamblee) for years and for good reason. Peter is a meticulous barber, well trained, detailed and professional. More than that, he's a good listener, attentive if I want to try something new and always in a great mood. Every time I come in, I enjoy my hour. I love shooting the shit with the other barbers (equally as talented at their craft) and I gotta give the owner Rob his due. He's built a great brand - a place and space to come in, hang out, get a strong cut, have some solid conversation and leave feeling great. You won't find a better spot in town. Lock n' load you won't be sorry. read more

Another traveling stop for a haircut and a hot shave. Had the pleasure of getting a cut and hot shave from Bon. Amazing job. Beautiful decor, pleasant staff that seemed to mesh gracefully with everyone that walked in the door. Bon took his time, and by the time I walked out I felt like a new man. If you live in Atlanta, or are just there for work like I was, definitely stop by. Make an appointment, and relax. You won't be disappointed. Probably my favorite traveling haircut so far. read more

Brandon gave the best haircut I've ever received! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town.

This is hands down the best barber shop I've been to. Bon has been giving me very clean and precise haircuts since I started going last year. Best skin fades I've ever received. The price is objectively high when you consider you could get your hair cut for half the price at other places, but I think it's justified for the clean environment, quality and high attention to detail the of cut, and staff friendliness. As a plus, there's free soda and beer you can drink while getting your cut which is very nice, especially after a long day. I am now a regular and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. The only real criticism I have regarding the quality of the haircut is that I feel they could clean out the small hairs that get trapped in your ear better after a fade. read more

"First time at The Commodore barbershop and I couldn't be happier! Got a medium fade from Bradley and he absolutely nailed it. Attention to detail was spot on, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Definitely found my new go-to spot for haircuts." read more

Peter is an excellent stylist. I came in looking like a homeless bum w/ 9 months floppy hair growth & left looking like a movie star. Top notch. I've tried other shops / stylists in Atlanta... Peter is the guy to see. Book an appointment today ! read more

I've had the privelege to visit both locations of the Commodore--Westside & Chamblee. I cannot express how amazing both staffs are, and more so, how amazing my experiences have been at each. Nowadays after my move, I will rarely be visiting the Chamblee location--but if you plan to visit Chamblee, I highly recommend booking with Anna Marie. My go-to every time at Westside, however, is Aaron. PS, he's also quite the coffee aficionado. Always a great conversation, w/ an eye and skillset that's second to none. Worth the wait--and I say that, bc Aaron books up fast. I always look forward to every visit. read more

Seven months ago Vu butchered my youngest son's hair taking an hour and half. I approached him several times and he brushed me off. It has take months to get it situated. My oldest made an appointment last week without me knowing and he did the same. Absolutely the two worst cuts ever. read more

Unfortunately, I have to rate my beard trim an overall "meh". I've had trouble over the years giving myself an even trim, but even more hesitant to pay someone to do it, in fear of still receiving an uneven trim. I went into this hoping to get a little advice on some of my trouble areas but a lot of time I felt the response was "yeaaa, beards can be tough" and I just didn't get quite the beard experience that had been touted by others I know who have tried Commodore. When I got home, I had to do some follow up cleaning as the mustache was left messy and the jaw lines weren't trimmed evenly, so I had to even them out myself. There is also an obvious chunk taken out of the right side where the sideburn meets the jaw line that is not on the left side. Almost the kind of chunk that makes you want shave the beard off, but I am just going to grow through it (not ideal). It wasn't a bad experience, the barber was friendly, but when you pay for a beard trim, you should walk out confident and proud and I honestly was not :/ read more

Came and visited the new location because I all but stalked them on Instagram (go follow them) and saw that a new barber was guest barbering. I really liked the photos of her work--loved it--but didn't want to go see her, love her, then she leave and I have to find (another) new barber. So once I saw they brought Emma on full time, I booked. (Rob's work is amazing too, don't ever doubt that. He was just always booked out so far and I was hopping around other barbers trying them out as well.) That being said...I've found my barber. Emma is awesome! She's nice, talks to you (and is actually having a convo, not just doing the "uh huh" stuff) but not too much to where she stops her craft. She really listens to what you want and asks questions to make sure you're getting exactly that. Rob made a great choice asking her to stay and Emma made a great choice by wanting to stay. They're a perfect duo. The space itself is so cool. You can tell everything was customized to create this really cool vintage/modern/clean-cut/marine theme. They have beverages in a cooler including beer, water, soda, and coffee. (Not sure if there's an extra charge for alcohol). There's merch to buy from other businesses with prices on some of it but not all. I hope the commodore gets a shirt with their logo on it. I'd buy it. Come check them out, tell your friends, tell the world. read more

Great experience and cut from AJ will be going back for sure! Well worth it, give it a try!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. But changing hair stylists/barbers is not something I take lightly. With that said. I booked an appt with Anna Marie. As I waited for Anna Marie to finish up with her previous client. I was watching the other two barbers give some of the best haircuts I have seen! For a moment I may have wondered if i booked with the right stylist? Then I hopped in the chair and Anna Marie asked me a few questions about what I wanted. Then she rocked it!! I told her what I wanted and she killed it! Super happy. And such a cool place!! Thank you Anna Marie and Commodore. read more

This is the barbershop your old barbershop wished it was. The environment was top-notch, and the barber I had was not necessarily rushing, but I was the last client of the day, so could feel the closing time pressure. The barber capes with the neoprene seal were a great touch as well. I've only seen them in the UK until now. Also, I've been rocking this baby mullet that can pass in the office, and the barber did a great job keeping it clean. I'm writing this review over a month later and I can say what separates barbers are guys that can keep your hair looking good even after 2 weeks away from the shop. Will be checking out the other locations when I return to ATL. read more

I have been going to the commodore biweekly for about 2 years now. I have received excellent service from Peter on every occasion. Even when I have trouble articulating what I may want for my hair or beard, peter helps me define my vision. I would recommend the commodore for anyone that is looking for incredible service, great haircuts, and impeccable attention to detail. read more

I could not be happier with this experience! Emma made the routine of getting a haircut a truly wonderful experience. From being greeted by name upon my arrival, then offered a cold beverage and then to be treated with the utmost care.... I was left (nearly) speechless. From start to finish Emma and Rob made this the best haircut and beard trim I have ever received. They have upped the ante in the barber game and if you'd like to do the same for your own look I suggest you book with Emma immediately... I can't imagine she will be accepting new clients for long. Thanks Rob & Emma. I look forward to always looking dapper and dialed in read more

The Commodore - The Commodore..... Simply the best barber and a welcome addition to Atlanta! Thanks Emma! - Barbers Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Second time we come here after moving from NY. We thought it was going to be hard finding a good barbershop for Daniel and his beard, gladly it wasnt. Very attentive to detail and hospitable beyond words. The place is a time capsule with its 80s vibe. The decor is very detailed and pleasing. The place is clean and inviting. Overall Daniel tends to be very particular about his barber but once he finds one that he is content with, he'll continue to come back. He is very satisfied. read more

TL;DR - Visit for a perfect haircut with great barbershop experience overall. If you're looking to get a perfect haircut with some good companies, you should definitely stop by The Commodore. I've met Rob since Gino's earlier this year and he has been my barber since. Once I knew he and Adrian opened up The Commodore, I had to visit and see my barber. My hair is difficult to handle because it's thick, rough, and curly, but Rob is probably the best barber I've experienced that knows how to deal with my hair. Rob has a vision of style about your hair and he will bring that vision to life once he is done with the cut. Rob is very meticulous with his work and you can tell he puts in a lot of pride into it as well. On top of that, he is very amiable. Haircut is accompanied with straight razor neck shave with hot lather, hot towel with neck massage, shoulder massage machine, blow-dry style, and topped with a cold beverage. Visit The Commdore and you will not be disappointed. read more

I just moved from Orlando Florida to Atlanta 2 weeks ago and I have been looking for a barber of this quality. Rob and his team not only gives you exceptional service but the attention to detail makes it more of a work of art then just a haircut. If you are looking for someone who truly cares about what they do and takes their time to give you the best quality cut then the Commodore is your kind of shop. The Commodore shop itself is in a very cool area and the environment inside matches their quality of work. The team is easy to talk to and they make you feel right at home. I am a Director for a major wireless carrier and we always look for people who care about what they do like these guys. I highly recommend Rob and the Commodore shop. This team takes haircuts to a whole other level. I definitely will be back. read more

Rob's shop is a hidden gem. I found it online after my company relocated to Norcross and instantly felt the artsy vibes, and loved the attention to detail and explanation of the different packages on the site. The shop itself has really cool custom/repurposed furniture, great styling, and good music. It's cozy, but bright with high ceilings, and it's completely remodeled and decked out. The chairs are comfy too! Having a Sweetwater brew or just a coke while you wait is a nice touch. I've had two cuts from Rob so far and plan to keep going back. He does an excellent job and I take his advice every time. Haven't been unhappy with my look and doubt I will be even if we switch up what we do at some point. I came here after being a monthly walk-in customer at Alpharetta Barber Shop for 8 months, and while the price is almost double at Commodore, I personally feel it's extremely worth it for a barber who treats your head like a work of art he's creating, rather than getting a hastily done clipper job you regret the next morning. I do tend to space out my haircuts more than I did in the past at this price point, but that's my problem, not everyone's. Don't wait until the last minute, because as word is getting around you may have to wait a day or two to get on the schedule, but that's the beauty of this place: it's all personalized attention. You're not just a block on the schedule. Rob--keep up the good work! read more
