I have not been to the comedy zone or even in the area in many many years. One thing that has changed is parking, last I went it was totally free. Now it's a paid parking lot right beside it, if you aren't lucky enough to get in there or find some paid street parking, be prepared for a short walk because the next parking area is around the curb near the Fillmore. They only have bottled waters and drinks are expensive. Whole menu isn't exactly cheap and portions are the biggest. I honestly would suggest not going there starving expecting a full meal to fill you up. But if you enjoy just having something to nibble on while enjoying the show it's perfect. I went with a group of ladies to a midday show, I didn't find the comedian funny at all but it was a great time to have experienced just hanging out with the ladies.

This weekend I went to see Nephew Tommy. It was a great show. We were not allowed to take pictures or videos. He is a great comedian. Show was amazing. However, the service here is not good. Took the server over 30 mins to take our order. Took 20 mins to bring drinks and 45 mins for food. She never came to check on us. Also, there is a 20% gratuity automatically added. Also, parking is horrible. Cost between $10-&20 to park. It's ver congested.

We traveled here from Columbia, SC for the Funny Marco show. Compared to other comedy venues, the seating is first come first served out of two pricing options available. The seating area is really tight and can be uncomfortable. The viewing of the stage can also be difficult at times. The service was subpar. Our waitress seemed to be overwhelmed. We ordered drinks and foods. The drinks came out in a reasonably time. However, it took almost 2 hours to receive our food. We were told the food items are prepared at a nearby restaurant and apparently our order was never processed. We finally received our order but was missing wings that were replaced with a second order of fries. The food was not tasty or appealing. Because of the mishap, we were compensated for the food. The parking is not the best as the venue is located in an area near bars and restaurants. Be prepared to walk. The restrooms were clean. I doubt I would visit this venue again.

Thus is our seat and view of the stage.

We were excited to come and see one of our favorite comedians. We even purchased VIP tickets months in advance. When we got there they had us sitting in the back corner behind a pole (and we got there 30 min early). The manager could care less and tried to say "This IS VIP!". The whole experience just sucked.

Ready to enjoy a show with my son and niece.

Nice venue and well structured where everyone can easily see the talent. It's very spacious which I didn't think upon entering. It has a very cool vibe. Food and drinks are available for purchase. I had just eaten so I refrained. One of our guests had not so ordered and enjoyed the meal. Pretty reasonable price. The wait staff was amazing. They were attentive and readily available

Cannot believe I'm gonna see Tommy Davidson tonight!

I've been here several times now and it's a cool vibe. It's a lot bigger inside than you'd expect walking in. I really like this venue because it's such an intimate setting. No matter where you sit you're pretty close to some famous folks and I love that. It reminds me of the Fillmore but way more chill. The food is pretty basic, like bar food, but it hits the spot. Same with the drinks and everything is affordable. I have to give a special shout out to the servers here. They're always so fast, friendly and helpful. And this place is big so they are working really hard to serve everyone there. If you've never gone to see a show here I highly recommend it. Most of the shows are also pretty fairly priced. I'll definitely keep going!

The entertainment experience at The Comedy Zone is fantastic. 5/5 Seating: Ninety-seven percent of the seats are excellent. The remaining 3% are tolerable (pole will be in the way at times, as the entertainer moves across the stage). 4.5/5 Food options: leave a lot to be desired. There are no options that I enjoy. 1/5 Drinks: 1/5 I now find it hard to push myself to visit after so many disappointments with the food and drink options.

"Clean comedy" brunch. Tara Brown was the head act. She was very good.

Great comedy. Good food and drinks. Good customer service but this place needs repairs. It was raining tonight and the water was pouring through the ceiling in the ladies restroom from the light fixture. The floor was quickly filling up with water. Maybe they need more shows to make more money. The restroom was clean but it definitely needs repairs on the roof.

I have been a big fan of stand up comedy for many years, and it's always a great time to see a show in person. I'm very thankful that Charlotte has a great little comedy club so I can see some of my favorite comedians when they come to town. The club isn't really big, but it's laid out well and the service is good. Food comes from the Mexican restaurant upstairs. I've always had a great experience when visiting the comedy zone and I'm always looking forward to my next visit. If you like to laugh, you gotta swing through and check it out.

This was my first time coming to The Comedy Zone in Charlotte. I came to see Luenell, who is absolutely amazing. The space is a lot bigger, but the photo rules, cleanliness, attentive staff, and prices are the same as here in Greensboro. Don't worry, that's a good thing. I loved my seating. Although we were there early, we were a bit further from stage than I initially expected. Turned out to be a good thing. One, it did not affect my line of sight at all. Two, the tables in the pit were way too close. It looked as if the patrons were on top of one another. While waiting for the show to start, I did order some fries. They were cooked kind of hard, but managed to taste like McDs with a little less salt. The venue is right next to a few restaurants/bars, so you have options. I enjoyed myself in this district and at this venue. It will not be the last time I visit.

Came out to see Jeff Acuri and it was great. He hade laughing the whole time he was on stage. Parking is a hassle only because the parking deck isn't close to the building and we had to walk in the rain. The appetizers we ordered were hot and delicious. The pretzel bites are amazing. The Mai Tai's were a bit sweeter than I would like but still good.

Parents weekend and our son suggested we go. The headline comedian was VERY funny! Others okay. Easy to see and hear from our seats. Only had popcorn and drinks. Pricey for what it was. Wait staff seemed frazzled.

There really is SO much you need to know about this place they don't tell you on their web OR if…read moreyou call to ask questions. Primarily, that is this club offers the opportunity to enjoy a meal and bar beverages during the show. They did reference 'the food/drink' minimum but they don't tell what that means. Which is you must order food and drinks, two each per person. IF you order off the menu, the 'the minimum' sill applies. They give you the option of General Admission or Reserved Seating and there is about a $10 price difference but no advantage as far as your table location or proximity to the stage. When you reach the top of the stairs, check in with host desk, they scan your tix and seat you. You are not asked where you want to be seated, they put you where they want you, even if it's Reserved seating which is about $45.00. More than likely you'll be seated at a table with other people. They have an FAQ page which I highly recommend you read, otherwise you'll be blindsided and surprised but a lot of stuff. We went on a Friday and there was one show starting at 7p. They open the doors at 6p and then the host begins seating people as they enter. I noticed it's a fairly large 'L' shaped room so if you're seated at tables just as you enter, you'll be looking at the 'side' of the stage and you won't see the tables to the right but you will hear the people laughing. It's confusing because if you DON'T know the above and you want to have a meal before the show, you might think you NEED to dine in the downstairs restaurant/bar area. The difference is the menu in the Comedy club is somewhat limited though it is more than appetizers. Michelle had the chicken fajita nachos which were enormous. I had a wedge salad with grilled salmon which was very good. The service was outstanding and I never had to worry about the wait staff coming by with re-fills. We were there to see Leah Ruddick who was very funny. It turns out she was the initial performer at the first show. There were two comedians going on before Leah. The one dude who also acted as MC wearing a sparkly jacket made it clear right away he was gay. His ENTIRE routine was going into the details about 'gay life'. A lot of profanity and a lot of TMI. I didn't find it funny or entertaining learning about deviant behavior. The next act was a black lady named Kandy Kaine. Again, a lot of profanity. Turns out she is a 3rd grade special ed teacher in public schools. Her deal was talking about the challenges of her students and essentially making fun of them. There was also a bit where she asked if there were any Christians in he audience. A few raised their hand and she proceeded to ask they give her names of 'gangasta' bible characters. The first guy yells 'judas' and all her jokes were making fun of his betrayal of Jesus but Judas. Again, for me not funny or entertaining. I had seen several youtube clips of Leah before hand. She portrays a character 'the wealthy lady'. She files around the US in her 'PJ', private jet. She talks about her 13 ex husbands and her attraction to men with tiny fingers. You need to know that parking can be an issue. There is currently construction going on and there are detours, in addition there are multiple one-way streets. You must be intentional on what street you enter if you want to park in a garage. Otherwise there maybe random street parking available.

It was a nice intimate show with great food and drink though. You walk into Duckworths, and you have 4 completely different options. To the right is the big bar, to the left is restaurant seating, downstairs is the absolutely amazing cellar and then there is the comedy club upstairs. There's maybe like 15 tables? All were filled except for one when I was there. If you don't frequent comedy clubs, you should know some have some interesting rules that you need to know. They have a 2 drink/eat minimum per person here, I'm not sure what the fee is if you don't meet that. Because of them expecting that income, if you don't show up on time, they reserve the right to sell your table to someone else and I don't think you get a refund. I'm not sure about that. Our beers were cold, our drinks were good, and the food came out quickly and warm. We were there for the show though and that was phenomenal. I double I'll see her in such a small venue again.

First thing to order is beverages--I ordered a beer and a water which comes bottles w. a cup of ice. Which is appreciated b/c not everyone is a room temp fan. The water and beer were delayed to arrive which is wild to me as the last time the drinks came at a decent time. I did order food again after I said I wouldn't do again but here we are. I order the Fried Shrimp basket that was to have "golden fried" butterfly shrimp-- not ONE of them shrimp was golden. They are hardT fried as i don't think shrimp is to have that MUCH of a crunch. There was no flavor at all and the cocktail sauce didn't improve it. On top of the massive overcook-- my friend ordered the same thing and it took over an hour for her to finally get her food just to end up just like mine. There was really no manager to talk to nor can I remember someone coming out to talk to her about her order/experience. I think it's safe to say that before you go to any shows at the Comedy Zone, eat before you go and just order drinks when you get there. Outside of the service disappointments and delays for order-- the laughs were present and I enjoyed the show.
