Once again I took on a restaurant with mixed and not so good reviews, and once again I am here to…read moredisprove the "critics" that have deemed this establishment a 2.1 star. After a day full of sun, sand, and cheap domestic beer we decided to give this a try as it is very convenient and right at the heart of North Beach with direct access from the beach or the road. We sat outside as the weather was absolutely lovely and found ourselves by their stage, there was live music and though I was on the fence about it at first I ended up coming around. We were sat instantly after entering and our waitress was very timely, we decided to graduate from cheap beers to the margaritas. Though they were not served in a glass they still came out just fine, they were packed full of flavor and were very enjoyable. The rims were sugared perfectly and the drinks stayed frozen almost the entire meal. For the appetizer there were not many options that appealed to my palate at the time, however being the spirit of Tex-Mex ultimately it would've been a sin to not get the chips and queso. It came out within minutes and though it was your average restaurant queso it still served as a good appetizer and prequel to what was waiting for us. Personally I cannot understand why someone would come to an establishment 40 feet from the water and not get seafood, but nonetheless we decided on the Big Papi Seafood Boil. We were not disappointed. For perspective we had not eaten all day and still had leftovers! The boil is a combination of 2 halves of crab legs, 2lbs of crawfish, and 1lb of shrimp, along with 4 sections of corn and 4 potatoes. It is served with 2 cups of melted butter and a Cajun seasoning. The seafood boil really made this place come to life. Between being packed full of flavor, beautifully tender meat, delicious butter for dipping, and the option for extra Cajun seasoning it truly was worth every penny spent. The variety is perfect it could've used a little more crab but the sheer number of crawfish and shrimp evened it out. In summary I would recommend Fajitaville, the appetizers are mediocre, the drinks are well priced and delicious, but the seafood boil. The seafood boil is a must try.

Hands down the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten -- and I love Mexican food. We came because…read moreGoogle reviews said it was good (even ChatGPT agreed), but wow... what a mistake. We arrived at 7 PM to a completely empty restaurant -- that should've been the first sign. The waitress tried taking our order before even giving us menus. The menu was confusing, overpriced, and missing most of the classic Mexican dishes you'd expect. Then the food arrived... cold. Only the plates were hot. Nothing tasted fresh or remotely authentic. I literally had to spit out part of a taco -- that's how bad it was. Service was messy, the order was taken wrong multiple times, the staff didn't look very hygienic, and there were flies buzzing around. Just not a place I'd ever return to. Save your money and your stomach -- skip this restaurant.

Great service! Being on island time has kind of thrown off our internal clocks, we lost track of…read moretime, and when 7pm rolled around we realized we were hungry lol We knew what we wanted MacDaddy's BBQ, during our 7 hour drive to get here we pulled up Yelp to search for some new restaurant options, and after seeing the photos and positive reviews we knew this spot was on our list! What we didn't think about was it being a weekday and closing times, we just goofed! So anyway once we realized the restaurant closed at 8:00pm according to Google we got a little worried, being that I work in a restaurant I know how overwhelming it can be to see customers coming in less than an hour until close, fortunately my hubs double checked here on Yelp and then their website and found the closing time was 8:30pm, so we hopped in the car and got there as soon as we could, and we were relieved to see a few people still eating, and another arriving just after we pulled in. There was a little curfuffle once we were sat, the hostess initially offered us a table with bench seating, but one of us isn't able to sit on a bench due to disability, she kindly offered us a table with chairs, in what appeared to be a different servers section, we were close to the TV on the same wall as the front counter, anyway, after sitting a few minutes Johnathan greeted us and took our drink orders to get us started. The ambiance is so relaxed, there was trivia on a couple of the TV's good music, and lots of cool merch to buy, some of the shirts really made me laugh. We quickly made our selections, hubs got the one meat and two sides and opted for the pork ribs, they were cooked to perfection, and he was delighted considering that we were there the last hour of the day, he really enjoyed his meal, I too opted for the one meat and two sides, selecting the regular sausage, and it was delicious. The highlight was Johnathan, he was friendly, made recommendations, and offered dessert, which we couldn't resist, deciding on the German Chocolate cake, with a side of ice cream. We had to take that to go, we couldn't eat another bite. They have two choices for BBQ sauce, hubs got spicy, and I got regular, and I am glad cuz I'm a yellow bellied tender foot, I tasted the spicy and it IS spicy so for all of you that enjoy the heat, I think you will like their, tomato forward sauce. I usually like to dip each bite of my sausage in BBQ sauce, this particular flavor was just different, I think I will have to try it again, it wasn't typical Texas-esque smoky BBQ sauce, more like ketchup as the base and then flavors and spices added to make it their own, we did find it slightly odd that BBQ sauce doesn't automatically come with the meals, we had to ask for it, but one of the things I REALLY like about MacDaddy's layout is it's a TRUE sit down restaurant with servers vs going thru a cafeteria style line to get our food, ironically as we drove down and talked about wanting to find a BBQ spot, and in that conversation I mentioned that I'd love to find one that's not self serve, being that one of us is disabled it can add a lot of extra work for the other, we come down twice a year if possible and have been doing so for at least 10 years, and had never found a dedicated BBQ place, we have now, the food was good, the service was friendly and the vibe was casual and relaxing, we will definitely be back!

Glad we made the stop... living closer to the bbq capital of texas i was surprised by the brisket here, it was pretty good as was the turkey. we asked our waitress Joanna what sides she liked and ended up trying the potato salad, beans brussel sprouts, mac & chs, all of which were damn good!! the potato salad has a twist on it but it is a good one. the corn bread is some of the best ive ever had, EVER!! Our waitress was very polite and would definitely make it one of our stops when in town again.

When you walk in, there's a clear line leading up to the register, with menus posted along the way and a large menu board up front, which makes ordering pretty easy. They offer a wide variety of options. The day we went, they had a chopped beef sandwich combo with a drink and a side for around $10, which felt like a solid deal. For my sides, I tried the mashed potatoes, potato salad, creamed corn, and okra. The okra was a standout--fresh, crispy, and really well done. The potato salad was also very good and worth getting. The creamed corn was something I hadn't had before--it included bacon and had a really unique flavor. It might not be for everyone, but I personally couldn't stop eating it, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. As for the chopped beef sandwich, it wasn't my favorite. It was a bit dry, even after adding extra barbecue sauce, and I didn't find it especially flavorful. That said, others in my group actually thought it leaned on the sweeter side, so your experience may vary. One thing that really stood out was the service. The staff was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer questions and help with recommendations. Overall, I'd say it's worth stopping by if you're in the area. If you're up for comparing, there's another barbecue spot a few miles down the road--Choke Canyon--that I've also enjoyed, especially for their sandwiches. Makes for a fun side-by-side if you're a BBQ fan.
