Delish jalapeño cheeseburger! Not for the feint of heart. Big plates, bring your knife and appetite

This place is very divey, but the food is great. It's a good diners drive in's and dive location.

Glad we went here instead of fast food; the order was ready quickly-8 minutes at the noon hour. The cheeseburger was perfect and only $7. The onion rings were delicious but we had only five in the order that cost $ 3.75. That's .75 an onion ring!! I added the menu so you could see current prices. read more

There was only one thing that kept this place from 5 stars...attitude. When we walked in the door, the lady who took our order was sitting in the dining room watching the television and she turned around with an absolute look of bother on her face. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but we felt like we were totally an intrusion on her break time and she'd prefer we just left. We were courteous and smiling, using all the manners we were raised with but she NEVER cracked a smile or responded with any type of welcoming spirit the entire time we were there. The food though... amazing burger! We both had cheeseburgers, mine was fully dressed and hubby's was ketchup and pickle only. I ordered onion rings and he ordered French fries. The burgers are fresh made patties...no frozen meat there. They cook them to a nice medium well and it perfectly accompanied the grilled bun. The bun is grilled on both sides so all the good texture feels are there. As your eating, juice runs down your hand...yum! The onion rings are freshly battered and deep fried until crispy. They season with some type of season all. Fries tasted fresh cut and deep fried too. Attitudes change from day to day so we'll definitely go again. Hopefully she'll be having a better day. read more

Burgers were delicious. They had at least a half pound patty. Fresh cut fries were seasoned too. Staff was very friendly. You have to try this! We ate outside on a picnic table. Staff was appreciative of your business and asked where you were from. read more

The Swiss mushroom burger is delicious Not even where I'm from. Cannot find a good Swiss mushroom burger like here.

R.J.'s is consistently the best hamburger I've had in the entire State of Texas. It is always juicy and cooked to perfection. The onion rings are also very good and they have the best chili for a chili-cheese burger that I've ever eaten. If you are near Kenedy -- then you have to go to R.J.'s. read more

RJ's burgers are the best in the area. Well seasoned and fresh toppings. The onion rings and fries are good as long as you eat them when they are hot and fresh. I do recommend RJ's if you are in the area!!! read more

If you are a fan of the hole-in-the-wall style super awesome, oh-so-yummy, big and greasy classic cheeseburger, then RJ's is the place for you. Their burgers are delicious and large. The service is friendly. I would have given it five stars but for the low amenities and wait time. It's a cheeseburger worth waiting for, however. Some people may be put off by the tiny size of the place and the kinda-rundown appearance, but for me that's all part of the atmosphere and what makes this kind of cheeseburger satisfying. Unless the temperature is really high, I suggest eating outside at the picnic table. Many of my friends are also big fans of this place. read more

This burger was OKAY. Kinda had a weird flavor (seasoning) deff not what I am used to. I went around 2pm - not a super busy time - and it still took 30min to get my TO-GO burger. I ordered the Avocado Cheese Burger... I must say that the amount of avocado that was on here was OUT OF CONTROL. I was not complaining because I am a big fan of them! But I cannot get over the seasoning on the meat. Way over salted - maybe a season-all of sorts? You probably could get a better burger at the Sonic down the street...But I will say that it was a HUGE burger. read more

Terrible service, 2 fucking hours and the order is still not ready. How the hell does this place stay in business

RJ's has some of the best burgers in the county. Greesy cheeseburgers, avacado burgesr, bacon burgers is what they do best. A little hole in the wall that gets packed at lunchtime. Be warned. The place gets packed and its not uncommon to wait for about an hour for your oder. It's a family owned restaurant of a husband and wife - who desperately need more help... but definately worth the wait. Only open at lunch so get their early. read more

Nice mom and pop burger joint in a small town setting. Prices have been bumped up but are still reasonable. Fries are a bit expensive though lol. Pretty greasy but the taste is there. read more

The burgers here are the very best in town, IMO. Every single time we eat here, the food is delicious and made to order. The service here is quick and the setting is a great place to grab a fast lunch. The ambiance is amazing because RJ treats his customers like family. read more

5 stars for the burgers 4 stars for the wait time...came here on Wednesday at 12:30PM and waited close to an hr. If you don't have anything to do, go try it out. If you're in a rush to get back to the city, still try it out but don't be mad if you're late. I had the cheeseburger with jalapeños along with Onion rings. The onion rings were made with red onions and the batter was delicious. (Not like the crappy breadcrumb batter) The burgers themselves were very tasty! read more

Awesome burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches! Fries were soggy because they need to be cook longer to make them crispier; there're just two hard working people attending the front and kitchen and so many orders that my guess is, they don't care much about how the fries come out - even if you ask for crispy fries. Their focus is on the meat! ;P Still, this hole in the wall, even when is a tiny place, their burgers/sandwiches make the whole wait/soggy fries worth it! You can always skip the fries and order a large burger instead - you won't regret it! ;) read more

RJ's Hamburgers - Awesome burger...can't say that from the fries that needed salt and more time to make them crispier; pretty soggy sadly. - Hot Dogs Near Me - Kenedy, Texas

Best burgers in Kenedy TX by far. I had the avocado burger with bacon and cheese. They use thick cut bacon with hand made patties . Home style French fires were at hit!!! The lady at the counter was very Courteous I will half return to this establishment! read more

Best burger in Karnes County great food. Very popular so get there early or call in your order. Small business so be patient

If you're looking for a fat, juicy, messy burger than look no further. I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and couldn't even get to the fries by the time I was finished with it. My only complaint was how long it too to get served after I ordered. Otherwise it would be a 5 Star. Will be back! read more

This place is fanominal. The bugers are amazing. The flavor is the best. This place needs to be listed as a must go to place to eat. I highly recommend it to you. Passing through? This is probably your best choice for a burger in this small town. The burgers are a bit greasy, but they are tasty and the toppings have been fresh on my visits here. They toast both sides of the bun here, so it holds together instead of falling apart. The fries were the home cut variety, usually cooked to a slight crispness. I did notice a wide disparity in portion size over several visits. The inside dining area is small and not much to look at. There are a few picnic tables outside if the weather permits. Not the prettiest place, but as the burgers were good I really didn't mind that much. I believe they had a few other items besides burgers (fried fish, maybe?) but I never tried any of these. Prices were reasonable. wait times for food varied, depending on how busy they were. Not a bad place to stop if you are in town. read more

What can I say, but WOW. My family and I were passing through Kenedy after spending some time at the coast. and after checking out and hitting the road early in the morning we were famished and came upon RJ's. Let me tell you this little burger joint did not disappoint! From the ground chuck to the thick cut tomato slices everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Small joint packs big flavor for a value ! I was told this place had a tasty burger for under 5 bucks. I will tell no lies this place delivered in the middle of OILFIELD COUNTRY ... The bun was soft the patty was cooked to order and the fixings where fresh. Thew in some sweet potato fries and a drink all for under $7.50 now that's a deal in my book... If I was these guys I would buck up the price for the quality they serve, but if their happy and turning a profit who am I to tell them what to do! So the next time your rolling through Kenedy ,Tx stop in for a great B and F . Happy Travels read more

Lots of ways to have a burger and they're all good. Everything is cooked to order, so you will have to wait a bit for your order. Dining room is very basic and there's 2 picnic tables outside to eat on as well. Burger, fries, and a drink will run you about $11-$13. read more

Ohhhh myyyyy goodnesssssss! These burgers will not disappoint. I regret eating it so fast but couldn't slow myself down because it was bursting with flavor and juices that dripped down my mouth. Try the Bacon Cheeseburger! read more

We had the burgers, fries, and fried mushrooms. Burgers are good and they offer a lot of possible combinations. I had the classic double cheeseburger and my wife had the avocado burger. Both well cooked with good melted cheese and vegetables. The fried mushrooms were perfectly fried BUT they dont offer dipping sauces other than ketchup. I asked for ranch dressing and they dont carry it. NOW, the fries. They're going for the 'home cut fries' style and fail miserably. The fries, even though fresh cooked, were wilted and brown and had that starchy flavor to them. They did not complement the really good burgers they offer which was surprising. They need to make a change to the fries. The fries are sold separately so skip them. $30 for this meal. Felt good about paying that price but will skip the fries next time. read more

Burger and fries looked amazing! Ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, friend I was with ordered the triple meat triple cheeseburger w/bacon. Huge flaw: they used MAPLE FLAVORED BACON on the burger! I've been to this establishment at least 10 times they make my favorite burger in South Texas! The western burger is the absolute way to go. Do yourself a favor and call your order in to save some time if you're in a rush as I've only ever seen two employees (the owners of I'm not mistaken) working there. They have a tendency to get pretty busy during lunch time. Whatever the case, the food is definitely worth the wait! read more

Before I came here to try this place I heard two things. I heard it was really slow. And I heard that it was the best hamburger in Karnes County. Well, both are true but... it is definitely worth the wait! I would wait all day for this hamburger! And saying it's the best in Karnes county is probably a huge understatement because you would have to go a lot further than just the county line to get a better burger! If you claimed it was the best in Texas I'd have a hard time arguing with you. read more
