Used Closet Edition 19 years ago for a new construction home to build out 5 closet systems. Salesperson Mitch. I saved all my plans and invoices so now when I'm downsizing into another new construction home I first went to Closet Edition. It's sad to say this company has gone downhill. Very poor customer service. I met with Frank several months ago. Although my new home won't be ready for a few more months I wanted to start planning my budget and designs. I showed Frank my previous plans which he photo copied. I discussed the changes to the design I wanted and the upgrade in material I wanted. He promised to email me estimates within 2 weeks. A month went by I called and left a message for Frank. No response. Another month goes by still no response. I began getting other estimates from competitors in the area. Before making a decision I decided one more time to reach out to Closet Edition. I left another message for Frank. Again no response. At this point I called to speak to the owner, Daniel. I explained what had gone on. He said he would look into this and call me back. He called me back and said to give him time to fix the situation before posting a bad review. He said this is the first he's heard of it. And Frank has been away last week. I explained that it was several months ago I met with Frank and I should have had the proposal then. He agreed. But he would fix the situation. He would handle my account personally. He would get my file from Frank and give me an estimate within a few days. Three days later Frank, not Daniel the owner, calls me. Frank said he can not locate my file as he moved and can't find the box it's in. Asked what model my home is and said he'd have a quote to me that day. Several hours later I received a text with a figure for 2 closets, in white core with one bank of drawers. No drawings or plans. Just a text. I had asked for a dark grey wood and two drawer banks. I thanked him for the quote via text but asked him to confirm if the figure was for both closets or each closet. I also asked him how much more for the dark grey wood. He didn't respond until the next morning. At 7:30 am he texted that he'd email me a full proposal and to send my email. I did immediately. 2 hours later with no proposal I texted to say I didn't receive it yet. Another 2 hours later he responded to say he'd be in the office at 2pm and he'd email it then. I texted back to please add a second drawer bank in my closet and a hamper with drawers above on the side wall of my husband's closet which is what we discussed several months ago. This was Friday at 11:48 am. On Monday at 1:00 pm I still did not have a proposal. I know they don't work weekends but I expected the proposal on Friday or certainly on Monday by noon. I texted Frank to say I still didn't have it and he had said I'd have it on Friday. I asked when I could expect to receive it. Yes, on Friday I did ask for some small changes but a company with this experience should have a CAD program to easily add a bank of drawers. No response on Monday from Frank and I have not heard from Daniel since the first day we spoke when he said he'd handle my job himself. At 7:00am Tuesday Frank texted to say he is finishing rush jobs that have to be installed this month and he'd have the information to me by Thursday. This is terrible customer service. I am a repeat customer who keeps getting pushed aside because my house won't be ready for a few months. I am in process of getting bids and deciding on all my vendors. Closet Edition won't be one of them this time around. I am one of the first homes to be moving into a community that will be over 800 homes. Unfortunately I will not recommend Closet Edition to anyone who asks. I am also planning to build out several closets, have a custom desk with book case built as well as a custom wall unit in my family room. I will definitely not be using this company or recommending this company to anyone. read more
