All the locals recommend these guys. Seriously the owner was very solicitous and apologetic about her limited hours. I definitely want to go there when I can work around them

I burned a hole through the bottom of the saddlebags for my motorcycle. I figured a shoe repair…read morebusiness would be the best place to call due to the thick cordura fabric and the location of the hole on the bag. I called a few places in Alamogordo, but all had gone out of business. I was directed to call shoe repair businesses in Las Cruces. No problem; there were only two. The first place I called was Landis Boot & Shoe Service. After finally getting through, the gentleman introduced himself as Mr. Landis. He said he'd been in the shoe repair business for 80 years. He seemed nice enough. He suggested I call an upholsterer first and that there were a few in my town. I called all the upholsterers in Alamogordo and none had a machine with a long enough arm to sew the bottom of my saddlebags (I'm getting educated on some terms as I research). So I called Mr. Landis back. He seemed frustrated and annoyed. I suggested a general type of material I'd like to replace the burned part. He wanted to know specific fabric brands and thicknesses. I really didn't know what to tell him; I'm not in that business. I understand that he needs that information to do his sewing, but he's the expert and should know basically what's needed. He then rattled off a list of fabrics belittlingly. So apparently he did know and did have suggestions, he just wanted to convey them in as rude a way as possible. He took a very arrogant tone throughout the 6 minute conversation. He then told me to try somewhere else, not that he couldn't do it, rather a dismissal instead. I really didn't call to bandy technical terms about with an arrogant octogenarian. I didn't call for someone to pass the buck. I called for help. There was little to be found there. I don't understand how he's been in business for 80 years with that attitude.

This shoe repair shop deserves zero stars. And I wish I could get a refund for wasted time,…read moreenergy, gasoline and destruction of my boots. First off, the person attending the shop took almost 6 months to complete a simple repair on the boots. This proprietor likes to chat it up with every customer that he can entangle into long useless conversation On one of the many times, I went into the shop, (that by the way is ridiculously FILTHY) to ask about my boots. He forced me to wait upwards of 15 minutes or until the client trapped in wasting time woke up and ran away. This occurred on several occasions and every time he had some empty excuse as to why the boots where not ready. For instance, he said the boots where not ready because the cold weather did not allow the glue to dry. The boots had already been in his shop January and February 2025 I am a patient person. I taught high school kiddos. I understand the power of patience, understanding and being polite. However, at this point I just wanted the job done so that I never ever have to return to that rachet establishment. Finally, the job is done, and my boots are awful. The hill is cracked terrible shoddy job. This exemplifies this person's ineptitude who basically does not give a filth about their job. He ruined a good pair of boots. Whatever you do not get shoe repair at Cross Road Shoe Repair at 8036 N Mesa El Paso TX 79932 #915-540-0550 (they never answer the phone)

When I returned , he apologized and told me he had forgotten to bring the purse. To come back in 2 more days to pick it up. 2 days later I returned to pick up the purse but he had forgotten to bring it again. I was able to pick it up a week later, after I called the place and make sure he had the purse. I wasted so much time! The place is very small, very dirty and disorganized. I will never go back
