I highly recommend Sarita's for alterations. I called around because I was looking for party sleeves for my husband's ball shirt (Army). They were very friendly when I called and said they hadn't heard of it but would give it a try. The person on the phone said to just bring it in. It was a Saturday and I needed a pants hemmed by Monday. I looked for different tailors but it seemed like most were closed on the weekend. One posted hours open on Saturday but they were not, in fact, open. Luckily, Sarita's was open. I went in around 2 (they close at 4), and they told me they would be closed this Monday. One of the lovely ladies there said she would be able to hem it same day, and to come back in about 20 minutes to an hour. That was exceptional, and the job they did was solid. read more

Saved my wedding day! I originally had my wedding dress altered by another seamstress and it turned out horrible.. I didn't know this until the day before my wedding. Saturday morning I woke up and immediately searched Yelp for anyone open before 10 as I needed my dress fixed same day before 12!! I called Sarita's Sewing at 9:15 they told me to bring in the dress to see if they could do anything, I got to the store at 9:30 they checked me out in the dress and I kid you not I was out of the store at 10:15 with my dress in hand!! Very unprofessional, I left my formal dress on Saturday May 29, 2021 for alterations. I was told it would be ready by Monday June 14, 2021 or before. On the day that my dress was supposed to be ready, I received a call from Sarita's telling me that my dress was not ready and that they would have it by Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I needed my dress by Tuesday June 15, 2021. Nevertheless, they were going to charge me $217.31. I decided to take my dress somewhere else. Sarita is very nice. The store is what it is an alteration shop nothing fancy but very clean and orderly. I brought her my wedding dress. I needed the bodice lined because it was see through and showing to much skin is not my style. I also needed the hips let out because I have some what of a big butt. And I also needed the chest taken in because I have some what small boobs. She did all three things for a little over $200 hefty price but fair definitely not outrageous. She did an amazing job with all the above it looks as if it was made that way. I was worried as my dress is lace and I wasn't sure how it would turn out with needing to be let out and all. But it turned out absolutely amazing you would never know it was altered. Took about 2 weeks for a fitting and one week for the final. So 3 weeks total. Sarita does amazing work and I recommend her for anyone. Hope she remembers me if I ever need another formal dress altered. read more

They tried to charge me $125 for alterations of a bridesmaids dress which only needed slight alterations. It needed a hem and the bust taken in a bit. Crazy! I have never paid more than $40 for bridesmaid dress alterations and I have been in multiple weddings. read more

Sarita took her time to address all the small details my dress needed that I didn't even realize it needed and finished my dress in less than a week! She built in a bustle, evened out any structural imbalances, and even ironed it out so when I tried on my dress everything looked perfect! She goes above and beyond even on such short notice. Bad customer service. I was charged an additional $16.00 dollars on top of the $64.00 dollars I had intially payed. When I asked why the additional cost of the the older gentlemen that is in the front desk didn't want to tell me why and seemed bothered I was asking. They took close to a month to have the dress ready and when the dress was ready they didn't even bother to call me and let me know, I had to call them and ask. I was going to take my wedding dress to this place to get alterations but after this I'm not.... I would suggest to find another place in El Paso to get alterations not all that great. :( read more

Worst place ever! Very rude, no clue on how to deal with people at all. They are just trying to find a way to get over on people and cheat you one way or another. Sara taught me how to knit and has always been patient about helping me pick out yarns and teaching me stitches. The alteration service is also good. I agree with F.D. and Michelle S. Sarita's provide very poor customer service. The store looks like a nice place. I decided to give them a try. My experience was very bad. They seem to be busy and maybe, that is probably why they don't bother to keep new customers. I brought white linen jacket. I wanted them to replace back and 2 sides with a piece of lace I also brought. This is a simple job. They just need to cut panels, replace old ones and sew them together. They told me that they are very busy. I said that I am not in rush and I can wait. They promised to call me and give me an average price for their work. Two weeks passed, no calls from Sarita's. I visited them only to find out that their work will cost me...$95. My jaw dropped. I could buy a nice new jacket for such price. I decided to alter my old jacket because I love it. However I am not ready to pay such huge price. I said "no, thank you", picked my jacket and left. I drove to other alteration store and they told me that such work will cost me around $45. I wouldn't even give Sarita's 1 star rating. Never ever again I would ask them to do something for me! read more
