We love to eat local while traveling and went a little off the interstate to find this little gem in Tuskegee! The place was nice, clean, easy to find. The one-man cook, owner, wait staff...was kind, friendly, and helpful. The menu is limited for the one-man show and the food was executed so well. There was a steady stream of people picking up to go orders while we were there. I had the City Salad which had shrimp, turkey, cucumber, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onion, croutons, 2 orange slices, and lettuce mix. It was really good! The kids had the Skegee Dog with chips. Definitely a gem within the town of tuskegee, especially being that there aren't many "real" food places in the city. I ordered a snack wrap and a veggie quesadilla. The snack wrap was okay, I'm not really a fan of raw flour tortillas. However marinate that they use for the chicken and vegetables in the quesadilla definitely carry the meal. I do also appreciate how fresh all the food is. Next time I definitely want to try their rice bowls. read more

If you were smart you'd go to your own kitchen. I've been twice against my better judgement. The first time I spent 25$ and everything was fine except for the rice which tasted old and the service. But I let that slide the first time. This time (trying to support the local economy) I ordered the grilled chicken wrap, "pound cake" and a crab salad that has ABSOLUTELY NO REAL CRAB IN IT WHAT SO EVER, not even crab shredded claw meat that you can get from your local grocery store and Walmart. I spent maybe 23$ and added a tip before I picked up my food. I wouldn't be so livid and annoyed if I didn't ask the person that took my order "is this real crab meat?" Plain as day...he said yes. I get home and I have mystery meat salad. Then I call to get some resolve by asking for the owner. Then the child on the phone tells me he's the owner then I say to him you're the young man that just took my order let me talk to your dad please. The little boy says he's busy. So I drive up there AFTER I just left from picking up my food. So I get there and tell the owner I thought the crab salad they have advertised is actually real crab and on top of that I asked before placing my order. Then the owner immediately goes into defense mode and tries to tell me my palate is so unsophisticated that I can't tell crab meat from imitation crab meat mixed with some fish. He also decided to inform me that lump crab meat is $35 a lb. I can't tell y'all how that was relevant to his false advertising and subsequent lying about ingredients. It was actually laughable hearing him say that. So instead of just refunding my money buddy decided he wanted to be condescending af. Also they use ROMANE lettuce for salads and wraps despite saying all salads are mixed greens. The pisspoor, condescending, (I went from ma'am to baby to sweetheart in one transaction) non existent service level is why this business won't be in Tuskegee in 3 years. If it's FAKE crab for vegan reasons spell "Krab" in a way that indicates to a potential patron it's NOT REAL CRAB. Also when ales try very hard not to lie read more

The food and service were awesome. It was my first visit to the VA hospital with a family member and I was starving. I don't eat at Burger King, Churches , or McDonald's. yes, just yes. recently, i have been in a weird funk where i don't want to eat but when i do eat, it's unhealthy and makes me feel bad. but today when i went on a drive with my dad we stumbled across this place. the location is amazing, put in an old gas station and opened this April, and the food is great! of course i had to go with the jambalaya dirty rice and the fresh made lemonade. it is everything i wanted and more. the lemonade was better than the stuff from Toomer's Corner and the food made me finally feel good about what i was eating. everything is made fresh in-house and is the definition of comfort food. along with being warm when it came out, the dirty rice was spiced deliciously to warm me up from the inside out on this breezy autumn day.
