I went here to get fitted for a pair of pointe shoes and I loved it!! The fitter, Caitlin, was amazing! I have an amazing pair of shoes to work with now! (Admittedly, the comparison is sub-par as the fitters I've previously worked with have been highly unprofessional at times) Not to mention, the store is adorable and has everything!! I will absolutely be coming back for another fitting! read more

The Cinnamon Tree Dance Shop - Fitting area - Shoe Stores Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

The Cinnamon Tree is an okay dance store. We've shopped there off and on since our girls started dancing. Several years ago, I was highly irritated to race there after work to get new ballet flats for a Christmas performance only to arrive and see them closed during their posted buisness hours. Tonight I stopped by at 6:45 again to quickly grab something before class. And again, the lights were off and the doors were locked. I checked their hours on Google, I checked their page on Facebook. Nothing. Other dance stores in the area are open their posted hours. I'll be sticking to them going forward. Update: while I am sorry to hear the owner is struggling with her health, it is unrealistic to expect that all (and potential) customers will be on her mailing list or even that they will check social medial channels before heading to the shop. Additionally, as I stated, I did check the business's Facebook page from the parking lot; there was nothing posted. read more

I brought my daughter here for new ballet shoes after struggling to figure out sizing online. Parking is easy (located in small strip of stores with a lot) and the store was well stocked for its size. The employee was quickly able to figure out my daughter's size and made sure they fit. I thought prices were decent for a local shop; there was a rack of in season dance dresses for 40% off in a variety of sizes. This is our new spot for ballet shoes (and will always be paired with a visit to Moo Thru a few stores down for delicious ice cream)! read more

I stopped in to get everything I needed for my first adult ballet class. I was really nervous and totally clueless about sizing, but the staff made me feel comfortable right away. They were so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this store to anyone. read more

My family and went to the Cinnamon Tree today to find a ballet outfit for my 2 year old daughter before she starts her first ballet class! The staff was so kind and patient with her and helped us to find exactly what we needed to meet our studio's dress code. They had a huge selection of leotards, ballet shoes and tights - we'll be back again! Thank you!! read more

My daughter called to ask if the Herndon store had her specific brand and size of pointe shoes and was answered very rudely with a "I am SO busy right now, but if give me your name and I will call you back." Which is fine, but she never actually did. A few hours later when we went to the store there were no other costumers, three employees were at the register, and all three made it clear that they did not want to help us at all. read more

I ordered a pair of point shoes for my wife for Christmas. Their staff shipped it to a different address than what I had put on my receipt so I never received the shoes. Instead of trying to make it right, they have strung me along for over three months and tried to say that my address was not in the USPS system. Considering that I get other mail and packages, this is a flat out lie. They maybe a good store to shop from locally if you can go directly to them but as far as ordering anything from them, do not trust them. I am still waiting to hear back from Mr. Kenny, but I don't think it will happen. At this point, they have stolen my money and because of their mistake, I never received my gift for my wife. This has been going on since the end of November 2024. read more

This is an excellent dance shop that we have been going to for years. Their associates spend the time to accurately size the ballet and jazz shoes. Everyone is so friendly at the shop and a pleasure to work with. The Cinnamon Tree has other dance accessories such as leotards, bags, and smaller accessories. As for the pricing it's very fair based on other online prices. I would highly recommend this store! read more

Loved this dance store!! Super cute shop with a lot of cute dance clothes. We came in just to get some half soles but ended up with some cute shorts and some contemporary socks as well. The service is really good. They let us bring in our little dog and made the shopping experience fun. I would recommend this place for sure! read more

Beware that this shop cares about serving dance studios, not end customers. We were told by our dance studio to order from here because that's where they get their uniforms, and we did so. We were told that the leotard would arrive in 6-8 weeks, and 3 months later when we called to cancel the order because it had still not arrived (honestly my daughter has probably outgrown it in the meantime), we were told that a refund is not possible because it's a special order. I understand the constraints of the supply chain and special ordering, but wished that this shop was a little bit more empathic and focused on delivering good customer experience, which is unfortunately not its priority. read more

Excellent service to kids and toddlers. Very patient, great selection of items. Prices reasonable, store beautifully decorated. SUCH a better experience than ordering 3 different sizes of ballet shoes off of Amazon and finding that none of them fit! Just go here to get your dance items, you'll spend your time much more wisely. They have a nice mirror & barre set up so that dancers can be on a "mini stage" to see how they feel in toe shoes etc. Bonus, there is a Habitat for Humanity Restore right nearby if you're looking for fun decor or furniture finds. read more

We drove out to Herndon and it was worth it. They had everything my daughter needed. Excellent service.

i love getting my pointe shoes from here!! Caitlin is so nice and patient when fitting pointe shoes for me and my friends. thank you so much for this amazing dance shop to get pointe shoes!! read more

Rude and unprofessional at every experience. The absolute worst local, small- business experience. For years, I've gone of my way to bring my business to this shop for these very reasons but will stop because of the condescending, impolite and downright mean treatment of customers. Dance gear is expensive; provide some basic customer service and human kindness, please! read more

Review from my sister- "One of the worst experiences I've had in the dance community. I walked in and was asked immediately if I had an appointment (which I haven't needed in the last 10 years) and I said no so I could come back at another time. They then started to reprimand me for not having an appointment and ask where my mother was (I'm almost 18 years old) and my mother doesn't dance, I do. They asked what my shoe problem was, and I explained and they responded so condescendingly I was shocked. I said I would come back another time if it was more convenient even though I was the only customer in the store. This experience was horrible and I will be definitely be going back to barre and pointe in Leesburg as the service is 100x better. " My sister was nothing but respectful was not treated appropriately. I am not happy. read more

For as long as I can remember, dance has been a part of my life. And for as long as I can remember, Cinnamon Tree has been a part of my dance life. Sure, we can order most items online at discount dance supply retailers. But this place makes you feel like you are the best and most important dancer in the world. I love exploring the store and fining random goodies. Be it a cute leotard or shoe accessory for teaching, we love supporting this store. I am really looking forward to this store being around as my nieces grow and fall in love with dance and this store. read more

The Cinnamon Tree is a store that specializes in dance gear. Fantastic customer service. Nicest ladies ever. The ladies here were great at sizing my daughter for her dance shoes. They knew which color my daughter's studio tends to recommend and they were patient when I called to verify the color she needed for her spring recital. We will return! read more

Nice, wide selection. Conveniently located. I plan to come here as long as my daughter continues to dance.

Beautiful establishment, with nice selection! Love the shoes I got. Looking forward to more purchases.

One of the worse experiences. We went there because we used to shop there when the previous owner was there. We had great customer service before. Very friendly and professional. Today we went and were shocked how rude and unprofessional the new owner is. I hope yelp take down all the old reviews that actually were meant for the original owner because the new one doesn't deserve to get business . Definitely not going back . read more

Best customer service ever! We had lost a piece of a costume. I called in a panic and they were awesome! Quickly found what we needed and how to get it. Will definitely go to The Cinnamon Tree for our dance needs. read more

What an outstanding store this is! The staff is so helpful and they go above and beyond to accommodate their customers. I got several items here and will certainly be back. Highly recommend! read more

I went in today to get jazz shoes for my son. I found the 2 ladies there to be courteous, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent attention, she pulled out many shoes and discussed the pros and cons of each one. One thing I do not like is that there are few price tags on items. I don't want to be asking someone for the price of each thing I pick up. The prices are of course higher than they would be from an online retailer, but again- you're paying for the individualized attention. I'm glad this place is so close to my house. It took me years to discover it was there! read more

The Cinnamon Tree has a new owner who is absolutely wonderful!!! I work for a dance studio and coach a local dance team. Two of my girls needed black jazz shoes for the next day, the couldn't get to the shop before it closed but Caitlin saved the day by bringing them to the studio for me. She is just wonderful! Thanks for saving the day Caitlin!!! read more

We took our daughter here several times for ballet shoes, stockings, hair nets, and a leotard. Its a tiny specialty shop that still manages to always have lots of friendly help (and lots of customers). The store is still run by the same nice lady that owned it when my sister was my daughter's age! We've never had a bad experience and recommend it to anyone looking for dance supplies. read more

I found myself in need of some ballroom shoes in a hurry. I got to the store only about 10-15 minutes before closing, and I felt terrible about being "that shopper"... but they were so incredibly nice and helpful! I got exactly the shoes I wanted, and for a fantastic price! I will definitely be back! read more

I love this store for my daughter. She was so excited to pick out her new ballerina outfit and the shoe fitting was perfect. Great service. Great ladies. read more

The people who work at this shop are so very helpful. Every time my daughter needs pointe shoes they take the necessary time to fit her properly. They offered stretch ribbons to help alleviate pain on the back of my daughter's heel, and my daughter loves them. Thank you Caitlin! read more

As others have said, the customer service is amazing and while you can shop online for things now, I always discover something in here that I would never have thought I would like if I only saw it online. Lots of great discoveries to be made. And they carry a great variety of all types of quality dance shoes. read more

Helpful, courteous, knowledgeable and supportive. Why go anywhere else?! Besides , they sell the perfect accessory for making any street heeled shoe more comfortable in which to stand around and walk in....lambs wool!! Back again! I love these ladies so much. Leg warmers. They have 'em and they are perfect for winter. So glad Herndon has a dance gear store. read more

Awful experience. I just shopped there for pointe shoes. The owner is new (just took over this week )but very rude. Hopefully the shoes fit and I don't have to go back. This is the only time I shopped there , I will never go back. She talked to me and my daughter in a very rude and impolite way. She didn't want to use the 10% discount for shoes at first then she said "she is giving me this favor only this time " but she is not going to use it for the pointe shoes . read more

Great Dance shop! Extremely helpful in fitting for dance shoes. Wonderful customer service!

I love this shop! Excellent customer service. They know the requirements for each studio and always have necessary items in stock. And now they also carry a great line of children's shoes. read more

I've been taking my daughter to this shop for several years and though it's a long drive for us, it's always a pleasant experience. The owner is such a beautiful gem and her employees are always very nice. When my daughter went for her first pair of pointe shoes, the ladies made her feel special and they were a big part of a proud day for her. They have great stock and knowledge. I needed a pair of ballet shoes for myself, so recently ordered online, which I now regret. Even though I used the manufacturer's sizing chart, they are too small, so the discount I may have gotten online and the convenience in not making the drive are now moot. I will be going to Cinnamon Tree tomorrow and paying return postage on the other shoes. CT is holding the right slippers for me. I should have made the time in the first place to get fitted correctly and support local business! read more

Esther and her team are very kind and great pointe shoe fitters. After a bad pointe shoe fitting at another store in Leesburg, we went here and had a good one. Esther fit my daughter in her pointe shoes and we are very happy with them. They made it a very special occasion for her and made her feel very special. read more
