Stopped by on a whim and ended up having a blast! We wanted to try their cider slushies, and made a quick pit stop en route home. The slushies were good, but there was so much more fun/deliciousness to be had! Ended up purchasing a dozen donuts (half plain, and half cinnamon sugar), multiple slushies, a bag full of apples, carving pumpkin and a couple decorative gourds. We had fun watching the cider making process and taking goofy photos with the family (see pictures). I really didn't want to go to the cider Mill. Not only do I not agree with their politics, they're too expensive. But my son wanted donuts, and I don't want to impose my perspective on others, so I reluctantly visited the store. First off, it looks like a glorified flea market. Lots of holiday junk. I hadn't been in there for two years, so I wasn't prepared for how overflowing it was. Very unpleasant. I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes and walked to the counter. I ordered a dozen donuts and a pint of cider. $23! Honestly, if they got rid of all of that junk and reduced their prices, they would have a lot more business. But this is my first and last time going there this year. EDIT: I tried one of my son's donuts. I swear they taste like a popular shelf-stable brand-soft, tasteless, no hint of crunch. Used to be a seasonal source of joy, cider and treats. New ownership is ripping the nostalgia out of the place and creating a place that feels like a tourist trap but for locals. Plus, opening before cider season is disappointing and takes all the excitement from making a trip. Workers are the same as always, polite and getting it done, but owners have lost me. read more

We are up visiting family and this is always a staple for us. The environment, the kindness, and the helpfulness of the people inside really make you feel at home here. Super overpriced for the items they offer. I drove in from Boston, Sure it's a sentimental place for any kid who grew up in Broome county. But the prices are ridiculous. My boyfriend and I were passing through the other day on our way home from upstate NY and honestly I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. Maybe we're just not from around here and are missing something? I mean, the only reason we stopped by was because we saw multiple billboards and were like "woah, okay, let's give this place a look see." We showed up and walked into a large, high ceiling room, with a kiosk for March to your left and a couple machines for frozen apple cider to the back of the space, and then a small shelf (?) for homemade pies, cookies a and such to the right, checkout counter to the left. There was even a place for mobile orders but like I don't even really understand what people could be ordering? Like donuts? Cider? Don't get me wrong the place was cute, but I'm not sure how crowded this place could be in the morning. Maybe it's more like a local fad that I'm just not understanding. What a cute place! It's not somewhere for a day outing, but you can spend a half an hour or so checking out their wares-apples, flowers, pumpkins, gourds, indian corn. Inside is where the delicious bakery goods live. Pies, cookies, fudge, candy apples, sweet breads, donuts, and cider. Oh! Get some of their creamy sharp cheddar. The staff are very nice and helpful. My family loves the cider mill!!! The kids love to walk around the back of the store and see the employees working! Watching the cider be made, and the donuts! The finished project is delicious! Their cider is to die for, the donuts always fresh and hot, and we love the candy apples. They have tables and chairs inside so you can enjoy right there, or take to go. Friendly staff. I can see why this place is so popular-free samples of cider, fresh donuts, wide variety of things to buy for your fall larder. That said, the cider was notable only for its sweetness-very one dimensional. I'll not make that my final judgement, maybe the early season apple varieties just weren't spicy or had enough acid. So Buffalo has Mayer Brother's cider mill, Binghamton has The Cider Mill. It is the same in many ways but also very different. They have a great area to sell their cider - which tastes really good. They do have a tasting station. On the inside they sell vegetables - cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, etc and apples. They have candy apples which we bought. All assorted colors and not too hard of a candy shell. They also have donuts and pies home made. You can also watch if they are in the process of doing it - making the donuts and the apple cider. Outside they had plants, mums and soon pumpkins. It is a great place - only thing missing is apple cider slushies. Something you might think about - There is always a line for them in Buffalo. A cult following keeps this place in the limelight but they don't offer anything special or remarkable. They are average in most regards when it comes to a seasonal apple cider location. Their prices for most things are higher than competitors but given that most competitors are an hour away they control the market in the area. They do offer a nice selection of donuts, pies, bakeries, and pastries. Their outdoor market offers a good selection of average priced farm goods and seasonal fruits and veggies. You watch them wash, mash and boil the apple cider. And their apples are fresh! They take non rotten apples to make the cider! (Which is probably why the cider tastes so great). You get to watch them press pristine apples into frothy sugary liquid, and eat the donuts out of the deep fryer. Its like a child's dream at the end of the tour. Surprisingly, as an Endicott resident for more than a decade, I only recently went to the Cider Mill for the first time. (I know. I'm sorry.) I stopped early in the morning to pick up doughnuts for my staff. Everyone there was great and friendly! I ended up spending more time there than I expected - and left with doughnuts....and a t-shirt...and candy apples...and...well you get the point. I Use to love the cider mill, but it's just become a mad house these days . I Came here on Saturday at 3:00 for a bunch of candy apples ... to my surprise there were none. ZERO candy apples on the table... like not-a- one, nothing , zilch . One would THINK that on a busy day such as a Saturday in October , you'd have your shelves packed with what everyone loves . I asked a worker if they'd be making any more, and she stated that they would not be . Another woman next to me was also extremely disappointed that she had driven over an hour to buy your candy apples for her grandsons only to find out there were none left!... talk about a waste of time and money. Autumn really begins in the Southern Tier with a visit to the Cider Mill. Frolic amongst the pumpkins, watch the cider being pressed, and witness cider doughnuts being kneaded, cut, and fried seconds before you stuff them in your face! Outside: apples of almost every variety imaginable, pumpkins in various sizes, and other assorted gourds. Inside the huge barnlike structure: huge hunks of cheddar cheese, fresh pressed apple cider in every size from pint to gallon, colorful candy apples (which I avoid as the flavors are too artificial-- I'd rather an old fashioned caramel apple) and my personal favorite, the cider doughnuts. Doughnuts are available in powder, cinnamon, and plain, and while they are best consumed before even leaving the premises, kept in a paper bag they will keep for a few days. I will neither confirm nor disconfirm scooping up sugar and cinnamon from the bottom of the bag and shoving it in my mouth. I love to go to the Cider Mill! I have been going there every fall for as long as I can remember. The second you open the door blown away with the aroma of freshly pressed cider and donuts. The aroma is heavenly! I suggest getting a gallon of cider and some cinnamon donuts this is my favorite combo. The Cider Mill is not only known for their cider and donuts but, their tasty candied apples. The candied apples come in too many flavors to count and one bite will make you feel like a kid again. My two favorite flavors are cinnamon and raspberry. If you call the Cider Mill ahead of time you can ask them what time they will be pressing cider. It's a neat thing for the kids to see. For being such a local hotspot I was urged to go to when I moved to town, I expected much more. The apple cider was delicious, but the cider donuts were not the absolute pinnacle they were worked up to be. By way of atmosphere, I loved what the Cider Mill had to offer. Heads up people! The Cider Mill has raised the price of their specialty donuts to $15 a dozen, $10 a half dozen or $2 a piece. You will not find this out until you reach the check out register. The employees bagging the donuts don't let you know. So, if you choose to not buy them they toss them because they can't sell them to someone else. I'm not sure how long the Cider Mill has been around, but it seems like I remember that big red barn having been there my whole life. It truly is an Endicott landmark. I am usually there on their opening day in August every season. It's all about the donuts! The plain are my personal favorite...crunchy on the outside and at their absolute best when they are still hot! During the week they also have frosted donuts. While I think they use the leftover day-olds for these, the maple frosted are my second favorite and I typically cannot pass them up. Yes, they also have good cider, too. and...pies, candied apples, cheese, apples of umpteen different varieties, cookies, seasonal decor...mums, gourds, pumpkins, etc.... If you have kids it's fun to time your visit when they are pressing cider and making donuts. AND...if you ever get the chance to see a show in the playhouse...they're always great. read more

REVIEW 100 Oh, Cider Mill, you beautiful, beautiful place. I get really excited when this place opens up for the season. It means I have to buy as many half gallons of cider possible. And what's fill is that they're always making slightly different batches of cider. There's a chalk board in the store that lists the types of apples they used in the batch. Also, I haven't had an apple cider doughnut in forever, but I remember them being ridiculously good. In addition, if you walk around the back of the store up the ramp, you can see how they make cider and doughnuts if someone happens to be making it at that time. Outside of the store, there are pumpkins, apples, and other various fall produce for sale. Basically, if you're in the area, you need to stop by and buy something. And then you'll be hooked. read more
