ADA Guidelines for Service Animals, which the people working here clearly do not know.
Miah F.

Today, Butcher Boy's Market denied my partner's trained Service Animal. The man behind the counter was rude and condescending, and does not know the ADA laws. When I called later to further explain the situation I asked if he knew he threw out a Service Animal and he said that he did know that but that the animal wasn't "tagged properly." This means that he saw a disabled person walk into the store and intentionally decided to make their day more difficult. He he spoke down to me. I have years of dog training and know the laws. He attempted to claim that there is a law that a service dog needs to have a Service Animal "card" in its vest and there is no such card that exists and no law. Even if there was at no time did he claim that the dog was poorly trained or acted out. He knew that this was a proper Service Animal. In fact, the ADA states only two reasons for which a business can deny a disabled person with their service dog. I am quoting directly from the most updated guidelines: "A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal's presence." When I called I ended up getting the same person. He talked down to me, was very rude, refused to give his name, told me to "come in on Monday," to speak to the owner - whose name he refused to give - and hung up on me.

Look how thick the flat is after 8 hours of smoke

Stopped by to get a couple of buckets of steak and chicken spiedies to take home. Good place to get them in town.

Freedom Farms - My dog waiting for us to feed her dinner

I stopped buying meat from grocery stores like Whole Foods and started ordering from Freedom Farms -- and my stomach has never been better. Even my husband, who is extremely skeptical about this kind of thing, noticed a difference almost immediately. The first time we ordered from Freedom Farms, we let our supply run out before placing our next order (big mistake!). We had to grab "organic, grass-fed" meat from the store as a backup, and within a day, both my husband and I were violently sick -- and so was our dog. She had diarrhea, and we had it coming out of both ends (TMI, but it matters). That's when it fully clicked: we need to be buying straight from the farm. We now exclusively feed our dog food we cook ourselves, using Freedom Farms meat. We use the bones for bone broth and add the hearts and livers into her meals. Our vet has literally told us she is the epitome of health. Since switching, my own blood work has also improved across the board -- all my levels are better. I truly believe a lot of store-bought meat is falsely advertised, even when it claims to be grass-fed or organic. Looking back, I think I was constantly inflamed from consuming poor-quality meat. The taste difference is undeniable too -- whenever I eat out or have meat from a store in a pinch, it genuinely tastes and feels like rubber to me. Thankfully, that almost never happens anymore because we make sure to order well ahead of time. Beyond the quality, I love everything this company stands for -- transparency, integrity, American farming, and education. The fact that you can even visit their farm says everything. I've seen some negative reviews, and honestly, I can't believe them. Freedom Farms has truly changed my life, and my dog has never been happier. Thank you, Freedom Farms, for doing things the right way. You've made a real, measurable difference in our health and our lives.
