The lighting nor the signage inside was very good, which made the first time going here a bit confusing/overwhelming. They have fresh sliced and freshly grounded meats (pork and beef). They do have some chicken products, deli meats and frozen fish. It looked like there is a case for fresh fish, but there wasn't any fish in the case when I was there (which was weird since it was the week before Christmas). The staff was very friendly and almost too fast. I haven't tried the ground beef and pork I purchased just yet. But if it's good, I may consider going out there every now and then.

There was marginal mask wearing by the employees, about 50%, and about 25% by the customers. Both groups are thus inconsiderate, to themselves and to their customers, and to the related area. Mask wearing is a super easy way to reduce the spread and help us get back to work and play. It saddens me that in this somewhat christian area, known for its churches (many Mennonites work there, and Mennonites and Amish shop there, you can recognize them by their clothing and lack of mask), that they are not being kind, Christian, nor sensible. What would Jesus do? He would wear a bleeding mask. I did speak with the manager who noted that workers had been reprimanded. But within sight of us were two workers not wearing their mask close to correctly! One if left to ask, do they believe in food hygiene even, then? do they believe in food safety? If they won't follow some of the most necessary and visible public safety rules, what do they do when we are not looking? Do they "believe" in cold chain? Do they believe in the pathogen theory of disease? I guess I'll go back post pandemic, but I did lose a little faith in humanity in that the manager (the manager!) felt powerless to enforce public safety on her own employees. I cut my visit short, reported them to the PA Department of Health, and wrote this review. I will also have to be less sympathetic to groups of folks that do not support public health. Every person I spoke to responded with politeness. The store is huge. Some items are deeply deeply discounted because of damaged packaging or close to or over expiration date. You just need to be careful of the dates as in any store. For example: I picked up a loaf of bread that would normally cost me anywhere from 5 to $7 at my local ShopRite/ Giant supermarket. I bought it for a $1.99 and it was close to an expiration date. I had family coming in and we used up that entire loaf of bread in one sitting so it was worth it for me. I'd rather spend $2 than seven. Do the health issues. I feed my dog chicken. I picked up frozen drumsticks 49 cents a pound. They were still with an expiration date and they were clearanced sale. They also have boxes of free items. Expiration date was 2 months from the day that I shopped picked it up. Put it in our local food bank. I've seen people complain about store is not friendly. There's not agree with their lifestyles. I saw none of that and perhaps the store's not for everyone. I can't really speak to that for my family and myself. The store is a terrific find. We purchase so much food. It took two shopping carts transported to our car. Total price $150! 2 hour drive from the Poconos to get there but we only need to go once a month!
