I booked a makeup appointment with an apprentice a few of weeks in advance for family photos, but less than 48 hours before the appointment I received a call that the apprentice was no longer available. I was offered the option to rebook with a regular artist, but the price was nearly double. When I asked politely if they could honor the apprentice rate or offer a discount since the cancellation wasn't on my end, they declined "because we called you yesterday and she had a dental emergency". It was disappointing to be met with a lack of empathy, especially since this left me scrambling at short notice. This would have been my first visit to this business, and while I understand things happen, I wish the situation had been handled with a bit more flexibility and care. read more

Delia is the absolute best! Similar to another review I saw on here she came to my rescue for my wedding. I was originally scheduled with a different company who cancelled on me and she not only stepped in but did so in a way that really put me at ease for this super stressful wedding planning crunch time. She is a delight and amazingly talented. I'm so glad I found her and am a forever client. I've had many spray tans and her product, demeanor, flexibility and process is top of the line. She even gave me advice about not doing my face darker for my wedding the way I asked for with my Bach she told me my MUA would appreciate it. And so she did the darker for face for my bach which I love since my face fades first but I listened to her advice for my wedding weekend and as she said would happen, my MUA was very grateful and commented how my spray tan artist clearly knew what she was doing/one of the best she's seen and she sees spray tans on a constant basis. As soon as I got engaged, I booked Kim 2 years in advance to do my hair and makeup for my destination wedding in Mexico! One of the many reasons why I love Kim is because she is so professional and so thorough about her work. Kim was very patient with me coming back and fourth to her with multiple hair and makeup inspiration photos and took the time to find out what I liked about each picture. She even did extensive research about doing asian hair and makeup in a beach setting to make sure everything would turn out just right. As she was traveling her flight got delayed, then her connecting flight was cancelled and when she finally made it to Mexico, her luggage was missing. Everything that could have gone wrong did, and although she was under so much stress, she never let it show. Thank God she was able to get there safely and was able locate everything just in time for the big day! On the day of the wedding Kim did hair and makeup on both moms, most of my bridesmaids and myself. I don't know how she did it, but she kept everyone calm and addressed everyone's concerns. This place is pretty great-I just wish it were cheaper, closer, bigger, and had better parking, but I guess that's a lot like all of the salons in Hoboken! I've never had the spray tans done here, nor have I had a color or cut, but I have had my make up done here before as well as my hair (blown out and style). I don't know if it's my hair type so I perpetually feel disappointed with how my hair looks after a blow out, but I didn't hate it here-trouble is, I had to give VERY heavy direction (maybe the person at the time was new or junior). The makeup artist (and I forget her name unfortunately) did a bang up job on me-I went here prior to my engagement party, and I was so happy with the airbrush make up and the lashes she applied (I think they come with a certain level of make up service, but be sure to check their services menu before booking). I also met the owner once at an event in town-she seemed very nice and interested in customer feedback, so there you have it! I hired them to come from Hoboken all the way to Queens because... 1) Their prices were fair AND they were upfront about them -- if you haven't done research on wedding / hair makeup, be prepared to be surprised at how many people will dance around your pricing questions & waste your time. Tre Chique lists their prices on their website and they are super responsive (even though they have a pretty small team). 2) They listened to my input & made me feel at ease. Their warm & easy going demeanor played a huge part in my decision to hire them. I am SO grateful for it because 1000 things were going crazy when I met up with them just before my wedding ceremony. They also were totally cool about me throwing on extensions the day before along with a few other some changes. 3) They are great at what they do! My wedding day make-up was dramatic without being over the top & the two of them worked together to ensure every hair was in its correct place. I reached out to Tre Chique after spotting them on the Little Hoboken blog and am so glad I did - Kim was extremely helpful from the moment I stepped into the salon for an impromptu consultation, addressing the various needs of my ambitious balayage/extensions plan. She made solid recommendations and I set out to purchase a set of (pricey) clip-ins to complete the look prior to my sister's nuptials to take place the following week. The day of the appointment, Kim was prompt and super attentive - she was a true perfectionist, approaching my highlights in a highly meticulous manner. I really appreciated her constant consideration of my general appearance, the health of my natural hair, and my objectives (she was careful to maintain the length while skillfully blending my new pieces in as she cut them!) On my sister's big day my hair was truly beautiful - the color, layers, and clip-ins blended so perfectly and I received a ton of compliments from friends & family. At 2 weeks out I am really happy with the overall look and feel of my hair too, and am attempting to utilize the new wefts on my own as well! The only aspect I would advise is to discuss complicated looks over a phone call prior as time can be a concern, and to potentially streamline the payment process a bit (in my case it took a tad longer to check me out, however I have no complaints as a discount was being applied). The process to book them was super easy and quick. They responded very quickly to all my questions. Their prices are also super reasonable! It was my first time at Tre Chique and I had a great experience. I went for a haircut and wanted to donate my hair. Caroline was my stylist. We started on time which is NOT always the case in a salon. The cut took under an hour including the sectioning / measuring / cutting for the hair donation - so Caroline gave me enough time / didn't rush at all but also didn't keep me there all night! She was so nice and helped me think through the cut / style. She had done hair donation before so had tips on what she's found to be the best way to do it. I wore a mask as did Caroline, there were two others in the salon who didn't and I felt like everyone was made comfortable to do what felt best to them which is great. It felt safe, not too crowded (just two of us getting services at the same time). There is also great people watching on that corner! read more

I got the airbrush tan yesterday and the color is very nice and natural.I gave 3 stars because the tan is uneven between areas. My stomach and feet are much paler than the rest of the body. I read some good reviews on this salon and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was not at all impressed. It was difficult to schedule an appointment. I was only able to schedule through text. The salon was small and dingy. The receptionist lacked good customer service skills. The stylist was friendly, but did not listen to my concerns and did her own thing. I asked for the cut to be kept long and just wanted some long layers and trim in the front. Instead she cut short choppy layers and never once asked if the length was okay. She didn't even shampoo before cutting and decided to cut the hair dry and super fast. I expected so much more for the price and reviews. I would never go here again or recommend them to anyone! read more

These guys are the best! I took an appointment for hair and make up. They did my hair first. The lady was very patient friendly and asked me what style i would like to have. Wen the intial one din tirn as i expected she did it in adifferent style again that too with a smile. I was attending an Indian function and needed a hair jewellery ( papidi billa) in the hair. She youtubed learned the process and did it for me. Cant thank her enough. The lady who did my make up was also super friendly and good at what she does. She changed my look as i needed.
