This was our second place we hit for lobster roll to make a comparison to another place. This one hit the mark with the perfect amount of mayo and acidity on the cold lobster roll. It was a tiny bit smaller though than the other place we went to but no big deal. They offered french fries they were perfectly seasoned and went well with it. The price was a few bucks cheaper as well. Of course you didn't have the indoor comfortable seating area, you had to sit outside on the patio benches and hopefully find one with an umbrella, but it worked out that day since the weather was fine.

After traveling millions of miles, over land and sea I arrived at my destination, DAVE'S Lobster Rolls only to find they reopen for the season, TOMORROW!!! So I turned left and there was The Chip Shack. This was the next best option seeing as we didn't want to do a sit down restaurant. Now this was my very first Lobster roll so I have nothing to compare, but it was meh. Nothing spectacular. Again maybe my expectations were too high. But the Fries, they were excellent and some of the best we've had. Fresh cut, crispy outside soft inside and just the right amount of salt. Order at the shack and sit on a picnic bench and wait for your order. Prices were reasonable. Staff pleasant.

Ordered the lobster poutine, a bit disappointing. 1) lobster was super salty on its own 2) the gravy sauce they used was warm, so it couldnt even melt any of the curds. Only good mentions was spicy mayo was good, and the fries werent bad. Service was quick, maybe like a 5 - 8 minute wait. Would suggest trying other items and avoid the lobster poutine.

When in PEI, one must get fries. PEI potatoes are legendary and you know what? They are correct. I had such a fun time trying out different places to get fries. The chip shack came highly recommended and I get why, they are just the right amount of crispy and salted just right. I got them with a side of lobster roll that was good but nothing fancy. The fries are where it's at.

My third Lobster Roll of the day. This little Chip Shack is near Dave's Lobster and a lot of cruise ship personnel go here for the fries / chips. Walk along the shoreline path to the left as you exit the cruise ship terminal. Taste: Lightly dressed lobster on a toasted roll. The lobster is shredded in fine pieces with no notable large identifiable pieces. Like the toasted bun but wish there was more meat. Ambiance: Shack is floating on the water. Outdoor plastic picnic tables on the floating platform. Boardwalk like! No pesky seagulls. Price: CS is known for their chips or fried potatoes rather than their Lobster Rolls. But at $15CAD for a Lobster Roll and it's fabulous fries, you just gotta have it. Roll is okay. Small chips is $4CAD without roll and it comes out hot and crispy. Dipping sauces for the fries - Garlic, Spicy Garlic, and Cajun. We went with the medium Spicy Garlic. Overall: Best deal for a meal. Roll is ok. Fries are the best. Outdoor seating on a floating pier - thus you're on the water!

On food, a three. The service and tone from the owner was a one and a half. So, a short review for an unworthy place. This location is the fifth lobster roll, and the worst one I've had - Lobster roll was just ok. Buns are sourced locally. - fries extra crispy were good. Nothing spectacular. - poutine was not good. Fries were fine but the gravy tasted like cheap powdered gravy. - ketchup is cheap No Name ketchup, which leads me to believe that all the ingredients are cheap. Service was not good. The original Lady taking order was nice but missed quoted the price on the lobster roll. The owner then came in it was fairly rude to my wife and quickly charged us an additional three dollars versus the initial cost. I was not impressed. Would NOT recommend going to this place just hop over to Dave's lobsters instead, it's much better.

Truly disgusting burnt fries. Isn't PEI supposed to have such great potatoes? Hate this place lol.

Lobster rolls and fries were mediocre and cost $21 an order. I feel kinda lied to by all these glowing reviews. Wish we had skipped this expensive mistake.

Lobster roll was pretty good. The lobster is more mashed up in smaller pieces than other places but the lobster was more tasty here - less mayonnaise taste abs more spices which added to the flavour.

The fries were very good. In fact almost delicious. The three stars are a result of a 25 minute wait and a rather small "large size". The price was $5 for the large and the location is great right along the water. I'd try another spot when I'm back unless wait was short than who knows ;)

Lobster roll and fries for $12. Probably the cheapest lobster roll around, what a steal! Fries were amazing

It is tasty, carefully prepared, and the portions are fair. Consisting of Mediterranean flavours-- aromatic spices from Portugal - chilies from Africa and olive oil from Spain-- everything tastes delicious and healthy. Prices are in keeping with the curious inflation which infected the world during and after Covid-- and which has never been satisfactorily explained-- but my friend and I walked away wholly satisfied which-- let's be honest-- is not a very common experience on P.E.I.. The service on P.E.I. is most often surly and resentful (Hello to you, yes you, Willow Bakery staff in the Stanley Bridge outlet), and the food is often overpriced underimagined fried garbage. By the way, one little note on our cup indicated the Saucy Bird is an Indigenous establishment in which case we can only pray for more Indigenous-run restaurants and food stands of this quality in P.E.I.'s future. To add to the benefit of a visit, check out their partner in crime, Cool Clucking Treats a few steps away serving Milk Shakes and Saucy's own House Churned Gelato, Ice Cream Sandwiches and Home Made Cookies. This place is a gift to Charlottetown. Anyone considering opening a food truck/stand or a restaurant in P.E.I. needs to beg these folks to give them a lesson in how it is done right! At first, I thought I should've worn a button-down shirt, but I quickly noticed a mix of attire--some people dressed up, others in shorts--so it felt welcoming and relaxed. We started with oysters, which were absolutely delicious--completely different from the ones I've had in Florida. For my main course, I ordered the special of the day: baked halibut in a jerk sauce, served with Irish mashed potatoes and shrimp. The halibut was cooked perfectly--flaky, buttery, and flavorful. The jerk sauce added just the right amount of kick. The shrimp were tasty too, though I do wish there had been more of them, or at least a bit larger in size. That was really my only complaint. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and the sticky date pudding. Both came out hot, rich, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. By the end of the meal, we left happily stuffed and excited to explore more of the fish and shellfish PEI has to offer. Service was excellent--our waitress was efficient, friendly, and refreshingly no-nonsense. I'd highly recommend Claddagh's for anyone looking for a great dinner in a warm, lively atmosphere.

Dave's Lobster was a highlight. Mr. Bee ordered the Half & Half Lobster Roll. One half of the sandwich was "The Local", which was 1/4 lb. of tender and sweet chilled lobster tossed in seasoned mayonnaise, with crisp celery and fresh chives. The other half of the lobster roll was filled with 1/4 lb. of warm lobster tossed with lemon garlic butter and fresh chives. Both were scrumptious. The flavor of the lobster was sweet. It was really nice to have a chilled half of sandwich and a warm half of sandwich. They both were different, but we couldn't decide on a favorite. I decided no lobster for lunch so I chose a grilled cheese. It was served on the same bread as the lobster roll, but the middle was filled with ooey gooey cheese and then smashed like a panini, it too was different and really good. But that doesn't mean I didn't sneak a bite or two of the lobster roll. The eatery is down on the water in a cute bungalow building. The interior is roomy and so bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean. They offer a few outdoor patio tables, and it was such a beautiful and warm day we ate outside and it was lovely. The food was not as cheap as some places and the two letters MP (market price), typically mean I will be paying more, in this case the roll and side was over $30. There was a generous amount of lobster on the roll and it was fresh but I felt it needed either more mayonnaise or some acid to bring out the flavors.
