The family I'm staying with also suggested I check it out. It's my last day here and I wanted to check it out before I left because I heard they have really cool old school toys (which I collect), cool clothes, and bras in my size! I waited until they were open but no one was there so I decided to walk around and come back a little later. Upon entering I was not greeted. Not a big deal though because I can be pretty shy and wanted to browse around. I soon felt uncomfortable; like I wasn't welcome but I brushed it off. It's a feeling POC unfortunately often feel when they're shopping in unfamiliar areas or shops. I wanted to give the woman at the register the benefit of the doubt. I found a cool harmonica that I wanted to gift my boyfriend but was being indecisive about what else to get I remembered the bras! I went to check them out and then I stumbled upon the sale section and that's when the woman at the register basically ran up on me. She said to let her know if I needed help with anything. It was completely bizarre because it was clear she came over just to see what I was doing. There were a few other people in there and she passed by them and didn't ask them if they needed anything. It was so clear in my mind that she thought I was trying to steal that dumb ass harmonica or anything from that janky store. The bras were overpriced, the clothes were honestly hideous and not for anyone under the age of 40. The toys and books were ok but nothing really jumped out at me. Except this woman. It was a very uncomfortable experience and when I went to pay for the items (yes I got the damn harmonicas) she gave me full on attitude. No smile, very condescending "you're welcome" after I thanked her. Just all around bad attitude as if she was the one being followed. I would beware if you are a POC. I didn't get the woman's name but she was probably a SWF, pudgy and had dark hair.

I was wearing completely the wrong size and it was amazing what the difference was once I got an appropriate bra on! I will also say that previously I have bought several dresses that are high quality here. The kids side of the store has a great selection of toys, books and a super cute jewelry.

    I first had to do an Amazon return. No one was at the desk, I waited a few minutes. There was a…read moreprinter in the corner popping out Amazon labels so I assumed someone would be back. A few minutes later an associate comes out of the bathroom, goes behind the desk to the corner by the printer and starts tearing off the labels. I walk up to the desk, in case she didn't see me, because I wasn't greeted or addressed. And she says " I'm over here." Which is extremely rude. How about saying hello I can help you over here. I didn't say anything, I gave her the returns. After she gave me the return slip I walked away and she snarkily said thank you. As if I was supposed to thank her even though her only attempt at talking to me was to say I'm over here. Sydney is very rude. 1) if she had to use the bathroom she should have told a manager to get coverage 2) you greet your customers. I said hello, she said nothing. 3) not saying have a nice day is fine by me, but don't give your customers an attitude when they walk away. Had she not been so nasty at the end I wouldn't have bothered to leave this review. I know not much is going to be done to reprimand her, but it was an awful experience so I'm giving an awful review. Do better Sydney, or get a different job. You don't belong working with the public.

Next month I received a 30 day late bill, called a very rude "customer service" (not) person, sent a check that day for full credit amount. They trashed my credit immediately with all 3 credit bureaus for a 30-day late, pretty sad. I've contested every year since and still **negative** report. In 31 YEARS this is the only negative report EVER . I always pay our cards in full. This is the WORST company. Do not be lured in with their discounts. They are totally not worth it. Go to Macy's or shop Amazon. Scrappy, low class, not worth your time. They can't even give fair service.

Now having been a VERY regular and long time Marshall's shopper I can assure you the on site manager I dealt with was demeaning and discourteous for reasons passing understanding. To be perfectly frank, I believe the purchase was outside the 30 day refund policy. For that reason alone, I was willing to take a lesser amount as a store credit. That said, the shift manager, I encountered, wouldn't engage at any level. She stated that returns at this high of an amount ($49.99), wouldn't normally be considered full stop. Having worked retail for over 30 years and engaged with this store for the last 5-8 yrs I can assure you, she had no reason to react in the manner I experienced. After reading your online reviews, it's obvious this policy and perhaps even your inventory system has changed. If so, I would encourage work arounds that address the lack of transparency and most assuredly revisiting the training opportunity of customer relations within this location. I will attempt to return elsewhere as I believe the return to be dated well beyond the 30 day window. Perhaps another location would prefer the repeat business. Please note, while you may feel justified regurgitating policy with little or no effort toward civility, and acting as if your customer has wronged you, will only serve to decrease your market share and eventually challenge your performance.
