Of all the places we went to in Toronto, of all the things we saw... HomeSense was a favorite. I…read moremean, come on, the Canadian cousin of HomeGoods/Marshalls/TJMaxx? How could I NOT go into this store!? Looks-wise it's just like the standard HomeGoods we're used to in the States... except its bigger and better. And really roomy. Sometimes these types of stores are so packed you can barely move around - not this location. Set in a lower level/basement like space it felt modern and comfortable. Walking in - I instantly wished I had brought an extra duffle bag. Between the aisles of pillows, the kitchen/dining section, and the picture frames - I was in heaven. Fortunately for Hubs they also have tons of furniture, so he was able to find a {super cute} chair up front to relax in while I wandered. B/c my luggage could not accommodate all that I had seen I settled on a really beautiful picture frame to commemorate our visit to Toronto. Check out was super easy - seeing as how they had several cashiers available. And my frame, after $$ conversion was only $7. Yay for HomeSense!

If you live in the area, it's a great place to see everything, but I wouldn't make a trip up here just to take a look. Prices are no different from Babies R Us or Snugglebugz, just a bit messier. Lots of stroller options though. There was only one lady here trying to help 3 other couples. When we finally got her attention, she was very helpful. I would call ahead for a specific item if you're looking for it.

The staff didn't speak English so I had to help my self and look around but there wasn't much to look at on the main floor. I had gone to the upstairs bridal section to have a Sneeky peak of what's to come for my future and they only had like 10 bridal dresses..... My fiancé also got himself an outfit which also did not have a lot of choices for him either. We were able to bargain the price down for both the items. The clientele is middle aged women mostly and the clothes reflect that. You'll find J.Crew, Aritzia, Club Monaco, a lot of activewear brands, and for designer some Michael Kors or Tory Burch but nothing overly expensive. They mark down items after a month or two, and the prices are pretty fair.

The Comeback is the best women's consignment store in the city, hands down -- cross my heart; I'm a cast-off connoisseur. They only sell brand name clothes less than two years old, so while there's no vintage, it's like having a personal shopper who plumbs the mall for the best items. It is a Winners-killer. Perfect for a frugal soMEone who's not into shopping but likes having quality stuff. My finds over the years are too many to list, but some of my favourites include a $13 Harvey's seatbelt bag, killer Diesel jeans for $11, a stylin' $45 Mexx interview-type suit that evidently did the trick. Everything here is sorted by size instead of colour, which is precisely how all second-hand stores ought to be. The stellar organization makes it way faster to find things, and the finds are so abundant here that I always creatively interpret the six-item limit at the change rooms. Older stock will get discounted up to 70% (I think), but tags are sometimes not marked down yet, so ask and check the date on the tag to see if it might get further reduced. It's exclusively women's wear and accessories, but no shoes. While clean and orderly, the store probably hasn't seen a reno since Michael Jackson was black, but who cares? Not I.
