The line was long but once Dayana helped me I wasn't as frustrated, as I was from waiting in that line. Dayana was super helpful, very welcoming, and provided excellent customer service. So when I first came in to this store, about 4 years ago it was a hot mess. And it had been a hot mess since then. Literally couldn't walk into the store without stepping on something. But today 12/5/2019 it was nice and neat! Please keep it up! I know they get all these people ect ect but the way it was before was ridiculously bad. Keep it up. read more

The line is really, really long ! I have been falling in line for one hour...if they were going to have a sale this big, the store should have been well staffed. I have seen half of the line leaving. If not for the coupons I can use I will not even spend 20 minutes in this place. When you get to the cashiers ... They will say NOTHING. Not even an apology for the wait or even acknowledge that the line was long! Never the less, I still like shopping thus brand. But next time, it will be online! read more

It's one of the few actual store front locations left. But do not expect that to mean that you are going to get better service than you do online. They are ALWAYS having a clearance sale. Again, don't think this means you're going to get a deal, this just means you can't use any of the coupons that they send in the mail or by email. And, added bonus, it means the store shelves are always a disaster. When I was just there I took the time to ask the manager why that is and she said, "because customers don't re-fold stuff and put it back where they got it". That's right, it's the customer's fault. So, expect a mess, expect to dig through to find styles and sizes, and expect to wait in line. No matter what time of day I've been there, the line is awful. Almost everyone uses the same trick, one person waits in line while one shops. When you get close to the registers, you do get to hear the cashiers gossip and complain. Our last transaction was completed entirely without the cashier speaking to me, except to give me a total. Now, with all these negatives, the clothes are cute. There are some good deals, but pay attention. Only every 5th or 11th or polka dotted or hung on a green hanger item will be on sale. So by the time you've waited in the line, they know you're not going back. You'll pay whatever the cost. Last thing I will say is do not ever try to return anything. No matter how carefully you read the return policy, even if you walk out of the store and just change your mind, returns are miserable. Forget it if you have taken something home and actually had your kids try it on. It's yours now! read more

I honestly dread coming here. I only come because the sales are too good to pass up and it's the only location in Bakersfield. Every time I come in, it's always chaos. As it is, the store is small, so it's hard to move around comfortably. It is NEVER organized. Shoes are scattered throughout the store. Infant clothes are in the older kids section and vise versa. I came in to look at the shirts for my daughter and just walked away because all of the shirts were in a giant pile not in any particular order. They just opened a little over an hour ago so there's no way that was just done. To top it off, there were kids running around messing things up more than they already were. This store needs higher management to step in ASAP. It's the messiest, unorganized location I have ever been into. read more

This is only the second poor review I've ever left in years on Yelp. I'm pretty easy to please, but this was just ridiculous. I placed an online order Saturday for 2 'Happy Birthday' shirts for my twins to wear to school on Monday. The only other time we placed an online order we paid with my husband card and clicked 'same shipping address as billing address". So this time it automatically changed to my husbands first name (we have the same last name) and I didn't catch it until after I placed the order. There was no option to add or change the first name to my own. I called the store, it should be no problem the girls said. I get the email that my order is ready for pickup that night. So today (Sunday)I load up my 5 children, drive 25 to the store. There is a kiosk desk in the middle of the store that's says online order pickup. We wait there. 5 minutes go by with workers glancing at us, no one said anything. I finally stop a worker. "Oh we don't use that, you need to go get in line". Arrggg. Long line, but ok. We get in line. 20ish minutes later we finally get to the cashier. I explain what they said on the phone, pull up my online order from my email. I give her my ID that has the same last name and shipping address, and the same credit card that I paid with online that also has my name in it. She has to get the manager because my husbands first name is on the order. The manager tells me there isn't anything she can do. I need to add an alternative pick up person. That's great, but I show her my phone and the order email...no options to add my name or change my husbands. "Your husband needs to come in". He works graveyards, we live 25 minutes away. It's not possible for him to do that today. "You need to call customer service". I click the customer service button: 'Closed on Sundays'. "Well there isn't anything we can do." On the phone I was told it wouldn't be a problem. "Whoever you spoke with was wrong". Ok. Do you have the shirts still in the store? "Yes, but you'll need to get back in line to pay". The line that's even longer now. My kids are pretty good kids, but that is too much to ask of them a second time. So I leave. No shirts that I've paid for. Crying 4 year old twins. ZERO effort on their part to help. Never, ever will I use this store again. Not one cent of my money will go here. With 5 growing kids I spend a lot on their clothes too. The Children's Place - Yeah shoppin shopping is this easy this is a ridiculous - Children's Clothing Near Me - Bakersfield, California

My 5 is based on my experience with Clarissa and the other employees. The store was packed on Black Friday and i only ran in because my daughter had an accident and needed a change. The line was huge and I was at the end of it. I asked an employee nearby if i could pluck the tags off and wait in line, but hand the clothes to my hubby to get the kid changed. Clarissa said she understood our dilemma , and bumped us to the front of the line for our sparse purchase. The understanding and kindness, especially after the hectic day they have been experiencing, was a breath of fresh air and greatly appreciated by us and our daughter. read more

Everyone saying this store is always a mess its the customers fault for letting their children run around and do what they please. This store tries their best to clean the place up and organize. But i've seen employees working on folding clothes and as they're doing it customers go and mess it up in their face then whine about it being a mess. Maybe if everyone would stop making the problem bigger by leaving an even bigger mess they would be able to catch up and get the store cleaned up. There are only so many employees. Be considerate and instead of stomping all over clothes that are on the floor take a couple seconds and pick it up. It's not that hard. And if you don't like how the store looks, buy online it's that simple. read more

They don't even deserve 1 star. When I went in to return something there register system was down so I had to come back. When I went back it was past the expectation date & they wouldn't let me return it when it was their fault in the first place for their system being down. In addition the store is always a mess w/ clothes every where. I won't be shopping there any more. read more
