My experience got off to a very rocky start due to abysmal bar service. Arriving early, I decided to wait at the bar for my party to arrive. The waits were so long, one would think I was at the RMV! I would be more understanding if it were busy, but both the restaurant and bar were far from bustling. When it came to the drinks, I had two mocktails. If I recall correctly, one was an N/A version of a sparkling sangria, and the other was a lime tart. While neither was horrible, neither was something I would order again. The sangria was far too sweet, and a lemon wedge was floating in the drink itself rather than being a garnish. Was I supposed to fish it out with my hands? The lime tart was on the opposite end of the spectrum, being too tart and proving that a little sweetness does go a long way. When my party arrived, we began our dinner. The food was generally okay and decent, but nothing worth raving or writing home about. From the App Trio, I was able to try a toasted raviolo and a mozzarella stick. Both weren't bad, but not good enough that I'd order a standalone appetizer in the future. The raviolo was nicely toasted, though perhaps a little more crispness was called for, and the cheese filling was pleasant, but not mind-blowing. As for the mozzarella stick, while I've had worse, these also weren't great. I believe mozzy sticks should be crisp and gooey, the kind where you see how far the cheese will pull. These are bite and done, with no pulling to be done. For a main, I had the Trio 2 (Lasagna, Chicken Parm & Fettuccine Alfredo): Fettuccine Alfredo: This was my favorite. While a simpler dish, it was very well executed. The pasta was cooked and sauced perfectly. If I were to return, I would get this as a main if available. Lasagna: This was lackluster, with nothing to make it shine. The layers were there, but the execution meant that it might as well have been a pasta, tomato, and cheese salad. A little toastiness, different tomato sauce, maybe some meat, or a cheese blend would have gone a long way. Chicken Parm: This was also a miss. While I always appreciate some Parm, the chicken tasted dry and lacked a crisp exterior to boot. It was better than frozen stuff from the grocer's, but only just. Where I do want to give them some credit was regarding their desserts. I had the opportunity to try the chocolate cake and the carrot cake. Both were great, and the carrot cake was a favorite. However, if memory serves, they get these from a local bakery, so I'm not even sure if "their" desserts is the appropriate term. The table service was better than the bar service, but there was still room for improvement. It was a little faster, but especially considering how empty the restaurant was, I feel as though it could have been more attentive (with water refills, for example). Final Verdict: This was a case where my friends selected a place that would be a halfway point between all of us (isn't being an adult lovely?). I was there for the company more than the food. However, I am still a foodie, and based on this experience, there are better options out there across all parameters. With this, even if my friends want to return here, I wouldn't rebel, but I would certainly suggest some alternative options. read more

Honestly, this place hasn't changed much since I was a kid in the 90s and it was Ann's Place. I will say I think the food has gotten better. The service is pretty good and the ambiance good if you don't mind how dark it is when you walk in. As long as you ask to sit in front of the window you should be fine as the view is beautiful and you can usually catch a couple of Swans near by. The food is so good. Especially for the price point! The view, that's the one star, everything else was pretty terrible, the bread was like fresh from a grocery store, but it was fresh, the soup and salad we ordered came out after our burgers were served. The salad was ok, thick slice of onion unripe tomatoes. The burgers were overcooked and dry, mine was missing the onions, the fries were good. It's simple because I was greeted and my name was jotted down, but NOBODY came to check in on us, so I went to ask and was told your hostess would have a table soon and come find us. Get a set of the devices or just use the phone number you asked me to give you and keep in touch. Was a horrible undertaking if you cannot handle the additional business it brought, don't advertise for it!! Been many tines bu latest visit was so very disappointing - ordered from lunch special for ravioli which PASTA dishes were listed at 13.50 but their ravioli had upcharge of $2 for their very own ricotta (!) with meat sauce for another upcharge of $2.50. What I receved was pea-sized pieces of what looked like chopped up meatball and there were only 5 pieces of them as the meat sauce... I was shocked and asked server who admitted it did seem less than usual and commented "but it is our first order of the day." What did that mean? Bottom line while the ravioli was good depsite the lack of meat in the sauce, it certainly wasn't worth $18 for a shallow salad-sized bowl that had 5 maybe 6 squares of ravioli. I had just purchased a gift card for a friend before sitting down to the meal ... wish I hadn't bothered. Management didn't show any concern about my issue about meat sauce either by the way. I've been here many times and always enjoy it. The atmosphere is a bit old school, with dark wood and wide booths. The service is usually very good. We were greeted immediately and offered a choice of seating. We had a roomy, comfy booth. The menu offers a wide variety, including specialty seasonal cocktails and daily specials for meals. There's a lunch menu but the entire menu is also available. We were there for lunch, but I couldn't resist the red sangria. It was amazing and a generous pour. I ordered the Eggplant Parm sandwich with onion rings. My date chose the Broiled Scallops. Our waiter offered to bring bread, but never returned. Just as well, because my sandwich was served on enough bread for two. Perhaps I should have asked for a description of the "Chateau Scali Bread." But it sounded delicious. It was, but it was cut far to thick for a sandwich like this. To make matters worse, the eggplant was barely warm. After a few bites, I removed the top of the bread and enjoyed it open faced style - a bit messy but doable. The onion rings were another story. They stole the show! Thinly sliced, golden fried and not greasy. And they were nice and hot. They saved the day, Along with the sangria. The scallops got good reviews and looked very good. They arrived with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and a side of Cole slaw. He cleaned his plate. Our food was delivered by someone other than our waiter. He eventually reappeared, sans bread, and reported having just returned from foot surgery. TMI, perhaps, or an excuse for being absent. I commented on the difficulty, with being in his feet so much. He replied, 'no shit" and left the check. Not the best experience and certainly not up to par with previous dining experiences there. Ask for containers to take home uneaten pasta and my wife's fried clams. Waitress brought two cardboard containers. I asked if i could get a plastic container of some kind. She insisted the cardboard container wouldn't soak thru as it was wax coated. I told her if it did I would be coming back for her to clean my car. When we got home the container and the bag had soaked thru just ass i predicted. I return and found her told her get a bucket and sponge to clean my car. She said it not supposed to leak. Duh!!! OK, Let me say we have been customers for over 50 years. Starting in Waltham. There was a period where the quality was just not exciting as it used to be, especially during the Covid years "honey". Yesterday, we ordered takeout from the Norton restaurant and we are still talking about it today. Just great! Yes, great! We ordered from the family menu an order of chicken parm. Enough for 5 as they advertise. Man, that brought back memories. Meat sauce over the 15 ravs, a whole loaf of scali bread and best of all, cooked perfectly. They are back. My husband made reservations for our anniversary, the main point of us going was to sit at the water view and we were told no we could not. Disappointed but ok. My husbands ginger ale was all seltzer and had to get a new one, ok things happen. I got married yesterday and without the château indoor and it would not have been half as beautiful as we wanted from Colleen to the waitresses even to the people that cleaned up they were amazing. They went above and beyond they were kind and professional and informative and fun. They were amazing, I sent my guest list and their food orders over by text message cause I don't drive. I put out the tags for the seating chart they put out all the stuff for the tables. They were amazing so thank you Château. I give you at five out of five, and I recommend this place to anybody looking to have any party wedding retirement any of it this is your definite go to the food was amazing. to update this review I have not stopped getting phone calls and comments about how amazing the food was quite a few of our guest had been to (1) if not multiple weddings prior two hours and I said it was the best wedding food that they had had right down to the cranberry sauce to go with the stuffed chicken It was hot. This restaurant has been in a slow decline for over a decade. The service is generally good, but the food is mediocre at best. Most of it seems like it came in frozen and reheated. Walking out of the bar, there was a gaggle of at least 8 waitstaff sitting/standing around talking. (The place was basically empty, so they had nothing else to do.) There were 3 more having a gab session near the front door. As we walked out, it occurred to us that no one greeted us when we walked in and no one said thank you or goodbye when we walked out.
