Why 4 stars? Because it was a perfectly fine experience…read more --- --- --- After landing at IAH, I was on the hunt to grab something quick on the way home. I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

Cleanliness Service…read more Family friendly Flavor I loved the staff and their attentiveness. But the flavor, seasoning, and execution of the food needs work. If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy.

I've been to this restaurant several times because the food is genuinely good. The ingredients…read moretaste fresh, the flavors are authentic, and it's obvious the chef cares about the quality of the food. That's what makes this experience so disappointing. Unfortunately, the dining room was uncomfortably hot, especially on a 95-degree day, which made the entire meal unpleasant. The bigger issue was the service. I ordered a goat dish that I've enjoyed here before, but this time it was extremely spicy. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he insisted, "It's always like that." I politely explained that I'd ordered this exact dish multiple times and knew it wasn't normally this spicy. He offered to have it remade and assured me it would be mild. The replacement came out just as spicy. When I told him, instead of addressing the issue, he smiled at my Indian friend and said, "Indian food is always spicy." That response felt dismissive and ignored what I was actually saying--that this specific dish had been prepared differently than on previous visits. By that point, between the heat in the restaurant and the repeated miscommunication, I was simply frustrated and exhausted. When the chef came to ask if everything was okay, I just said yes because I didn't have the energy to explain everything. This also isn't the first time I've experienced poor communication from this waiter. In past visits, I've felt talked down to or told that things were "just how they are" instead of having my concerns heard. Consistency and respectful communication matter just as much as good food. It's unfortunate because the chef's cooking deserves praise. However, after multiple disappointing interactions with the service, I've decided I won't be returning.

Let me start by saying that the service was excellent! Something that is always appreciated…read more The food was good, but it unfortunately wasn't to our taste. My husband is from India (Gujarat) so we eat authentic Indian food on a regular basis and we found the food here to be a different flavor than what we're used to, probably because it's more Pakistani than Indian in terms of flavor. Both of the curries we had were more sweet than what we're used to, but they weren't bad. Just didn't satisfy our cravings! My husband ordered the Paani Puri as it's his all-time favorite dish and they prepared it here much differently than what he's used to. He really wasn't a fan. Their Masala Fries (an appetizer), however, were absolutely incredible! I haven't had fries like this before and the crunch fries paired with the assorted sauce combination was so delicious. If you're looking for Indian food and are searching for a specific flavor palette, I might recommend trying elsewhere because your tastebuds might not be fully satisfied here. Otherwise, give this place a try as they have a variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to choose from!

The samosas were delicious! My fiancé and I both loved our dishes. I ate most of the naan because he's not a cilantro guy. Honestly cool with that--I loved the naan. The ambiance was cool inside, cozy and I bet families come all the time and make core memories here. 10/10. We both got medium spicy and my nose was running but it was worth it. I got the qeema aloo muttor and my partner got the spinach with chicken curry and we both loved our dishes. Next time I'll try the muttor rice and try another dish.

Love this little truck!…read more Here at Desi Vibes, you get the full food truck experience. Friendly service, a rotating menu, affordable prices (got two meals for $12), operating hours that you just kind of need to check before you go, and most importantly, hot, tasty, messy food. The doubles were the reason I came, and I was lucky to pick some up on a Saturday evening. The pepper sauce is perfect, and they have a great chutney on top. If you're new to Trini street food, doubles are a popular small dish that you'll find in most towns across the island nation, commonly eaten for breakfast. Essentially it's chickpeas in a curry-like sauce served on two bara (which function like a tortilla). It's delicious and unlike most familiar flavor profiles, and it's definitely worth trying here because these folks knock it out of the park. The mushroom burger came out hot - almost too hot to hold. The patty was cooked well-done, which is worth noting if you prefer a medium cook on your burger. The mushrooms, onions, and sauce got everywhere - it was glorious. Can't wait to go back and try the loaded fries, shrimp fritters, and more of their authentic Trini dishes!

One order has 3 sliders with mini beef patties topped with cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños - all in all super delicious! The loaded fries were pretty good too but I will say that the cheese sauce was slightly lacking in flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was nice and crispy but the coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. The chicken itself was a little dry inside so I think some kind of sauce would be a great addition! Make sure you check them out on instagram to see menu updates before you go. Their prices are so reasonable and it's nice to have more halal options in North Houston!

The pakistani Chinese fusions are always a hit in our house. We have dined in with them, and every time the food comes out in a timely manner. We have done take out with them multiple times--we get take out more than anything. We love their Sunday brunch specials. My only complaint would be that I wish that they would do it earlier because 11am is pretty late for us, we want halwa puri earlier than that! I was dining in and took a menu to the table since it seemed so large, even though the gentleman behind the counter said just order here. I thought the menu was large, but It turns out I just grabbed a double menu, but their actual menu is very small and only 1 page. They have a basic selection of Indian and Pakistani dishes. I picked a lamb curry with a iced tea, chicken wings and garlic Naan. If you are getting a to go order, there is a menu board of select dishes by the register, but the prices are $3 more. Lamb curry - I chose this protein over goat since most times it does not have bones and I didn't wanna fight with bones during a lunch meeting but it had bones anyway. The curry was the most disappointing part because it was really just an oily broth. I've never seen a curry this oily before. The lamb pieces were pretty small and not a lot of them in the large bowl. 1/5 Naan - this was your typical garlic naan 3/5 Chicken wings - just 1 flavor and they are heavily breaded and were not that good 2/5 Service was really good though, so I will round up for Yelp purposes.
