Once inside my first impression was Wow, where are all the chimes, figurines and other assorted dust catchers that are common in most other stores here. I was also surprised that you could walk around without worry of knocking over abundant displays of gaudy knick knacks. Instead you will see what in my uncouth opinion were very cool accent items. Not that I have any kind of decorating savvy, but the right person could pick out some decorations that would go well in modern or semi modern rooms. A place like this could even inspire a slob like me to redo a room or two in a way that hipster friends would be proud. I think my favorite items were the various vases and containers that held flowering bulbs or dried flowers. There were also some cool long glass things that little interesting votives(?)or figurines could go on. I guess that these could be changed out according to the season. As another.review correctly reported, you can get custom upholstery done here, and the couches on display were fluffy and tasteful too. While you are here browse the perimeters for clearance items. I actually almost bought a few things, but realized that I need to do so much more in my house before adding decorator touches. I actually think I will return again with an advisor in tow, when I finally get my mess less messy.

The shop is a treasure cave and winds around down the stairs, with intricately decorated rooms dotted with unique pieces and creations. The owner Dominick was super friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. Definitely pay this unique little place a visit if you find yourself in the Doylestown area.

I found a cute little pink and green teapot that made me go "ooh." Be careful to check the price tags to make sure you're paying the right price though! The teapot had a reused price tag with the correct teapot price on one side and another (much higher) price for a different item on the other side. Just make sure they scan the right tag. I also saw some nice little ramekins, but wound up going with the teapot instead. Couldn't stop thinking about the ramekins though, so I started looking online to see if there was anything similar. Turns out both the ramekins and the teapot are available for a cheaper price on Amazon. Not just "similar" items--the exact same ones. Felt a little swindled, but at the same time I guess I'm supporting a local business. Still, it would be nice if they offered products that are more unique and not just off Amazon with a new price tag. If I go back I'll definitely do my homework first.

ZERO STARS!! Extremely disappointing experience at The Mole Hole in Peddler's Village…read more I came in with my family, including my daughters, and admired the store's many wind chimes. As a consumer, I love the sound of wind chimes, and yes, I tapped a few while walking through with my girls (there were no signs anywhere saying not to). Instead of kindly addressing it, the man who said he was the owner came up and told me to stop, repeatedly ordered me to leave the store, and went so far as to say I "couldn't afford" the wind chimes anyway. I found this insulting, unprofessional, and frankly discriminatory. I could afford the items (I even bought a $35 bracelet despite the treatment), but no customer should be spoken to that way, especially in front of their children. When I asked the front desk to get the manager, the staff refused. Peddler's Village is supposed to be a family friendly place, but this was one of the rudest encounters I've had as a paying customer. If management cares about customer serviced and inclusivity, they need to seriously rethink how people are treated here. I was humiliated... told to leave immediately and that I "couldn't afford" anything in the store. Disrespectful, condescending, and felt outright discriminatory because YES IM HISPANIC! Families beware: spend your money elsewhere!

Walked into The Mole Hole because it seemed like they had a fairly large selection of many different things. Again, I wasn't shopping for anything in particular, just window shopping. The place is jammed packed with wares and people, making it difficult to maneuver. As you could imagine, all the Christmas decor and such was 50% discounted. Again, not looking for anything in particular, my house was already packed away for the season. While browsing I found a pretty cute tower of ornaments that should light up. Unfortunately it's battery powered but there were no batteries in it so I couldn't see if it worked or what it looked like illuminated. It was actually very cute without the lights on but I was still curious. Well I grabbed it fully intending on purchasing it with or without illumination. I get up to the counter and there's 2 registers and I'm the only person checking out at the one register. Very lovely young lady working so I ask if there's any way she could test the decoration to see if it works. She could very well have said this is something they didn't do and I would've been fine with that, but she gladly grabbed batteries from under the counter to quickly check it for me. WELL...another clerk person behind the counter, around 40 years old, guy wearing a Santa hat, rolled his eyes at me as if I asked the young lady to donate a kidney or something. I asked him if there was a problem and he said, you're getting it for 50% off. And? I told him I didn't care what the cost of the item was, I just wanted to know if it worked. If it was an issue, I could just not make the purchase. So a manger type man comes over and he just says, yeah he's always like that, don't mind him. I'm sorry, what??? He's always just here making customers feel like crap and running his mouth? That's not how you should run a business. That guy was an ass and the manager/owner guy was an ass for allowing the behavior. Anyway, the young lady was lovely and I made the purchase because she was exceptionally professional. However! I will never patronize the Mole Sh*tHole again.

The owner of Cook & Gardener, Liz, provided us with a beautiful 7-week-old kitten when a stray…read moremother gave birth on her property. The day we came to pick up the kitty, we noticed gunk had crusted in her ear, which quickly became an infection. We took her for an emergency vet visit as it badly affected her equilibrium. She developed this in the intervening days between the vet visit Liz took her to (VetCo), and the day we picked her up for adoption (about 3-4 days). The kitten herself was free, which seemed a nice gesture at the time. Since then, our circumstances have changed, and Liz offered to take her back. However, things unfortunately took a turn for the worse when the infection and subsequent medical expenses were brought up. She made it a point to make personal and financial assumptions about us, yet didn't voice her concerns when we initially wanted to adopt, claiming, "I'm not your mom." We never brought up our financials, she assumed. While we understand the financial and emotional commitment to adopt a pet, the unexpected health problems this poor kitten came to us with could have been prevented before hand-off. During our phone call, when we asked for reimbursement of our kitten's medication costs (since the infection had developed during Liz's care, and the kitten was amongst a litter with a plethora of other infections such as pink eye with pus, respiratory, and underweight issues), she threw herself into a fit and hastily attempted to end the conversation. The kitten was dreadfully underweight when we adopted her, and we fed her until she was at a healthy weight again. Liz denied any hearing loss when we had initial concerns, but we later found out that due to the infection the kitten had under her care, the result was profoundly conclusive. When the cost of the medication was mentioned, she immediately became interruptive and combative, though we stressed no animosity toward her. Her words to that were, "Too late." You can love her shop all you want; just please adopt from her only to get these poor animals away from her so-called "care."

My only complaint is that I had a couple of questions about some items and the only person working was on the phone the entire time I was in the store (it was a personal call which is the only reason it kind of annoyed me) I could barely get her attention to check out and she seem a little annoyed at the interruption so I put the additional items back since I couldn't ask, I really just wanted to check prices since some things weren't labeled but I felt weird interrupting already. I mean, a place like Peddler's Village has something for everyone and it's definitely worth a return trip, which is just what my wife and I did after having visited a few years prior. You see, we were spending a few nights in nearby New Hope/Lambertville which makes a trip to PV almost a must as it's only about 10 minutes from those areas. Now if you haven't been here before, think of it like an Old Mistick Village/Kitchen Kettle Village/Smithville Shoppes kind of area (told you I like villages). What's great here though are plenty of shops you won't find elsewhere, at least not in those aforementioned shop areas. There's some crossover, but mostly the options here are unique and honestly pretty vast. What's really nice about Peddler's is the setup as the stores encompass a few greenery areas, but there are also some along a few streets and a whole other small shop area on the other side of one of these roads. Despite having been here prior, my wife and I still spent several hours going in and out of many stores and finding plenty of goodies. Those goods varied from house decor, to spices, to oils and honeys, to a few small gifts for family. Even better than the shopping might be the food and drink options. You'll find a few places to actually sit and have a meal as well as a winery (with some great vino), a brewery (shout out to Free Will!), a coffee/drink shop (Mama Hawks FTW), and a lot more. On top of that, Peddler's does a lot of seasonal celebrations of sorts. Our first trip was in the Fall and so the area was lined with tons of different scarecrows all made by different people. This recent trip was right after Easter and there was "artwork" created using Peeps marshmallows. Both referenced plenty of pop culture favorites and it was a nice added bonus to the experience. Overall, Peddler's Village is a gem of a spot. You're bound to find something worthy of buying and you'll definitely be here longer than you probably intended. Only downside is the place can get crowded, especially on a nice weekend day, so if you can find the time to head over early or during the week, make it happen. I know I'll be back again at some point whenever we find ourselves not too far away, because you can't go wrong with a cute village, am I right?
