We've only boarded as we just moved to the area. The place is always busy, phone ringing and people waiting. However they keep it moving, answering calls and getting cat patients in and out at a solid pace. Looking forward to using the veterinary services. I think my cat appreciates the absence of barking dogs.

    Happy cat!

Dr H is the kindest human! Her staff is caring as well, along with the front desk people. Everyone is a loving, compassionate soul.

Called this location to report it and they downplayed it and weren't bothered by it. I'm sure plenty of other dogs got it too as there were over 20 in the same playroom that day. We took our dog here for a meet and greet couple hour play time. Two days later we dropped her off for a full day. Sadly she got kennel cough. Only place should could have gotten it from as she had no other contact with dogs for weeks before. This location looked promising with the large indoor and outdoor play areas (multiple inside). But seeing how the staff reacts to things that occur is pretty bad. If a dog is deemed to be "acting up", they put it in a crate where it can look out at all the other dogs playing around it. Really bad for the dog's mental state. We also saw that when dogs have bathroom accidents indoors, it ends up right on the foam flooring and stays there for a little while until it's cleaned up. No wonder the place smelled like urine going in. Dogtopia seemed highly rated going in and the staff we talked to were very information and friendly, but our one and only experience with our dog in the daycare facilitity was all wrong. Luckily our poor pet recovered relatively quick for a younger dog having kennel cough but she was miserable for the first few days.

Buyer beware. Please, please read reviews of this place with an open mind. This Birmingham…read morelocation and the Bloomfield Hills location are the absolute worst when it comes to what should be their core business ... dogs! Bottom line, poorly trained (or just don't care) staff. High energy, fun loving dogs do not apply. When Bloomfield Hills complains about my high energy dog and demands that I come and pick her up mid-day, I mention I'll try the Birmingham location. Their response ... that location agrees with us. What ??? I guess they forget, Dogtopia, you're not the only game in town. Consumers who love their dogs do have options and Dogtopia is not one of them. If you love your dog like we do, they're family, do not take them to either of these locations.

Back when I lived on a 40-acre ranch in Northern California, I had plenty of space and other dogs around to help with the process. When my wife and I were fostering dogs in Michigan, she fell in love with a Miniature Pinscher mix named Obi. He was different from any dog I'd trained before, and without other dogs to help with training, it was a challenge. We needed Obi to be able to travel the world with us and assist my wife with her PTSD. Within six weeks, Fred from The Dog Wizard trained us on how to make Obi an incredible companion. The transformation was night and day. Now, Obi walks calmly by our side unless given the 'free' command. He accompanies us to stores, ignoring everything and everyone around him. One of his biggest issues was reacting to other dogs on leash--no longer a problem! Recently, we visited a crowded cider mill with hundreds of kids running around. Obi stayed calmly by my feet, unaffected by the chaos. Kids asked to pet him, and I explained he was working. I can't say enough good things about Fred; he's like family now. What he did for us truly means the world to me."

    Jagersbo Kennels

As a worker at Jagersbo, it makes me sad to see the reviews. Please do not let past reviews speak…read morefor today's staff- as everyone currently at Jagersbo was not at the business when the old reviews were posted. I began in November 2024, and I can say things must be different now than they used to be. For one, the groomer/manager (Missy C) is no longer with the business. I dont have any insight as to why, but I do know that based in reviews I've read here, there mustve been good reason. We do still offer baths, nail trims, and light grooming (removing mats, trimming paws/face, etc) but it is done by the kennel staff. Which brings me to my next point. The staff we currently have- are new to Jagersbo. We have staff with years of experience, who love these pups as much as our own. We love doing play times with them, and even do our best to get them outside with us even if they've already had their official play time. Or, if they're not much of an outside pup- we try to sit in their kennels with them for a moment, bring them in the office to hang out if we can, and give extra treats just for being good boys & girls. We also no longer do large group play. Unfortunately, large groups can overwhelm dogs easier, and we want everyone to be safe & have fun. We have a handful of regulars who have established friends. When introducing dogs, they are always attended, we take introductions slow, and start only introducing 2 dogs to each other. We prioritize their safety and so if we ever feel uncertain, we will just give them 1x1 play time with the staff. We absolutely do not push for group plays, as that's not our focus. Taking care of these babies and making sure they have some fun & feel loved while they're away from home is our #1 concern. If you do choose us, your first day of daycare (a "trial run") is free. Daycare is just for one day, no overnight stay, but 2 playtimes included. If you'd like to talk to a staff member and try us out, please give us a call! There are also more pictures on our Facebook and Google reviews (same name- Jagersbo Kennels)!
