I was immediately greeted by Dr. Tahir Raza and his associate and diagnosed my pet. Unfortunately the diagnose was devastating due to an incurable infection. DR. Tahir drained some of the swelling but this was only temporary relief because of the infection would return within a few days. This gave my pet some comfort. Although my pet passed away a few days later, I was able to be with my pet for those extra few days, which I am very grateful for. We were new puppy parents and dealing with recurrent eye infections, a skin condition and a possible diagnosis of entropion without ANY actual conversation with the vet. We had SO many questions about food, treatments, vaccinations; and literally we would get a print off of something from the internet with a "let us know if you want to do these optional vaccinations". The BEST thing we did was take our puppy to Blue Cross. The vet is on the phone with you while they are examining your pet (because of covid). They answered every last question we had and thoroughly explained the optional vaccinations and discussed why (based on lifestyle) some may be worth considering. We have had a different vet each time we have had to bring Hagrid in, but they are all amazing. We couldn't be happier with the care he receives here. They are obviously extremely knowledgeable and caring. Highly recommend.

This past occasion was for a spay surgery but with other pets, they have gone on to save their lives! Another hospital was insistent to keep running labs for a miniature dachshund while the steroids they had put her on were causing her liver to fail. The doctors at Beattie recognized the true issue and put the dachshund on medication to flush the steroids and stop the damage. A much happier outcome than what could have happened at the other hospital. Pricing is about normal for pet hospitals but the staff are willing to work with clients to help alleviate financial concerns where they can. If your pet has an emergency or a standard treatment and you're in the Hamilton area, you might want to consider Beattie.

The Beattie staff were incredibly supportive. They said to come in whenever we could, they cleaned and wrapped him up so we could see his ears, eyes and nose, they gave us a room and all the time we needed to say our good byes. The vet talked to us, answered our questions and arranged cremation services. It wasn't until today that I realized it was free of charge. Thank you so much Beattie, I can't begin to tell you how much comfort this brought my daughter and I, as we try to cope with our loss.

We brought our pet rat (Handsome Jack) in here who was pretty broken. I knew he had to be euthanized but was hoping for some good news. The vet barely glanced at him and said no, he won't make it. First, the vet stood there while our animal suffered telling us "anecdotes". My daughter and I were crying and I finally handed the box holding Jack to him, trying to hint that we should get on with it instead of letting our poor rat lay there while he panted out his last breaths. Then we weren't allowed in the back to be with Jack while he was euthanized, and I've always been there with our animals at the end. And the best part? They charged us over 200 dollars. I'm sorry, but when I had to have my Great Dane euthanized it cost the same amount at my previous vet. Unfortunately, we have just moved and I had to find the closest vet. I called around to several other places after the fact and discovered, much to my dismay, that the average price for euthanizing a young rat is, on average, about 80 dollars. Terrible, awful experience with this vetrinarian clinic. I hope they go out of business because they treated our pet with a distinct lack of respect and then they swindled us when we were feeling our worst.
