Spent a couple nights here recently while in town. Made reservations through the hotels website, and had a issue with the site. Called the hotel directly and the front desk was very helpful and gracious getting me squared away before arrival. Truly exceptional customer service. Went above and beyond to make our stay worthwhile and feel welcomed. Checking in was simple and the hotel office is located just in front and below the hotel entrance. This small all suite boutique hotel is very comfortable, with only a handful of well appointed rooms and within walking distance of most all the restaurants and retail shops in the downtown Bisbee area. It never felt crowded. Stayed in suite 105, a large space with two king bed rooms and a single bathroom. Full kitchen and dining area, with a large living room and rooftop private balcony. Comfortable beds, and an albeit old shower it worked well. The kitchen was great for our needs that evening and especially the next morning making coffee and a little breakfast before our departure. A quiet, secure, comfortable hotel that makes you feel welcome. The space was very large and on the main floor so no real stairs or elevator once in the building. This place is pretty awesome. I came with a friend and got a suite. Check in was easy and rhe room was great. Nice bathroom, furniture and very clean. The only issue is climbing the stairs ro get into the main building and the elevator is a tad slow but nothing too major they do have a cabinet of snacks and drinks downstairs. Location is next to everything so very nice over all. read more

Had a great stay at the Carrick in October 2024. You can pay for covered parking or there is free parking in a lot across the street. The location of the hotel is great, very convenient to the Main Street in town that has restaurants and stores and bars. We stayed in the Dolly Parton room which was decorated with paintings of the Queen and there were also large coffee table books she wrote. I enjoyed reading those. The suite was spacious, with a full kitchen, living room with TV and couches, bathroom, and bedroom. This room was dog friendly which was a nice bonus! The lobby area has free snacks, which we did not take advantage of but they had a huge variety of snacks and drinks! FYI - I did not notice any paranormal activity in my room, which I was a little worried about haha. But it was perfectly fine sleeping there. read more

Amazing hotel that's very spacious in a wonderful central location. The staff is super friendly - and you have free snacks and drinks. There's also a limit amount of parking spaces for $10 but it's also next to a public parking lot as well. We were amazed at how quiet it was. Being that it was in the middle of downtown we thought it would be super noisy. The hotel does have a few steps. And offer some really large size rooms for big parties. It's also pet friendly. We definitely consider staying here again. read more

The staff were super friendly and great. Stayed over the weekend for several days and zero issues. I definitely would recommend as the beds were super comfy and cozy. We had a deck just outside of our room, which was super nice overlooking parts of Bisbee. The front desk had complementary snacks and drinks stocked in the main office as well as the lobby, which was super nice. We just got back from a two night stay at The Carrick. We loved it and are already thinking of when we can come back. We stayed in the Dolly Suite which was filled with pictures of Dolly Parton. It is in an old building with high ceilings, gorgeous gigantic windows. There is a full kitchen, living room and bed room. The shower had great water pressure. Everything was within walking distance. Bisbee is a mountain town so would be difficult for anyone who has mobility issues. read more

What a wonderful property. I have no clue why Google shows it as a two star when in reality it is easily a four star. Some of the nicest room set-ups for families and walking distance to most of the Bisbee sites. The staff greeted us as if we were old friends and made sure we wanted for nothing. Room 105 is as good as it gets. Kudos to everyone at Carrick/Gym Club Suites. No question of where we will stay when we return to Bisbee. read more

Gym Club Suites are SWEEEEET! Ok couldn't resist that cheesy reference. But look y'all: you ain't gonna find a more unique place to stay...OK it's Bisbee who am I kidding? There are tons of funky places to stay but you definitely need to put this one on your radar. Here's my top 10 list for staying at these digs: 1. Fabulous view of the town & B mountain from our loft window 2. Short walk from Suites to shops, mining tour, coffee shop, bars/clubs, etc. 3. Excellent value for six of us to stay in Bisbee over Thanksgiving holiday 4. Room 205 features the most beautiful wooden ceiling, the only original one left 5. Even though place was booked up, the building is totally soundproof & we couldn't hear any other guests 6. 39 degrees out but our two-story apartment was cozy & warm 7. They still have the cool old intercom system at front door, so your friends can buzz you, speak into it & you can let them in from your apt. 8. Our spacious apartment featured a LR, DR, kitchen w/ full-sized oven, microwave, & frig + 2 full beds w/ extra futon; every apartment has the same modern amenities but different floor plan & some have patios! 9. Owner Angel was/is so hospitable 10. This building was originally built in 1903: we got to stay where copper/gold miners once lived! Until we meet again sweet Bisbee. xoxo read more

One or two of the other reviews of Gym Club Suites mentioned bed bugs. The reviews were several years old though I figured we'd give them a shot. Firstly, the suite itself was very cool and spacious. There was even roof access through the 2nd floor window that we took advantage of to take in the morning. But back to the bed bugs... They got me! I was feeling a little itchy during the night (we slept in the downstairs bed of suite 205) and found 5-7 bug bites on my legs the next morning. Wonderful! The HVAC system is also very noisy at night when you're trying to sleep. Lots of clanging, banging and miscellaneous noise all throughout the night. I suppose there are some concessions to make when staying in such an old building. Regardless, I don't think I would return to Gym Club Suites in the future. read more

I found the Gym Club Suites online a week before our arrival and found a great home away from home. I was afraid that the short notice was going to be an issue when finding a place. To my surprise, the Gym Club Suites had plenty of availability and their prices were very affordable. We had suite 302. The suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Suite 302 was a corner unit and the bedroom had 2 walls of windows. Tall ceilings, plenty of windows, and more than enough room for even a family. There was a living room with a futon, tv, and a couple chairs and there was a full kitchen (although we didn't use it.) We arrived fairly late (10pm) and Angel was great to meet us and have everything ready. The Gym Club Suites is right up the street from the Copper Queen Hotel and right in the middle of Old Town. This place doesn't have typical hotel amenities (e.g., restaurant, daily maid service, etc) but you definitely don't need it. There are restaurants and bars minutes away (definitely check out the Old Bisbee Brewing Company.) I would definitely recommend this place if you are spending some time in Bisbee! read more

We visit Bisbee, AZ often and have stayed at the Gym Club Suites three times. Our last and final visit was Thanksgiving 2019. I knew from previous visits that it was not my favorite place to stay, but due to the holiday other 2-bedroom accommodations were unavailable. When we arrived, we found that the most of the dishes were in the dishwasher, uncleaned. The carpets were filthy and bed sheets smelled dirty. There was debris on the window sills. Although there is a full-size kitchen, there is only one small fry pan and one small pot. The plates are small, desert sized. The oven which works is from the 70's. If you want to use the kitchen, you will have to bring your cooking utensils, and I mean everything. The final straw was when were we packing to leave, we found a trail and pile of dog or rat feces under one of the beds. read more

LOVED IT!!!! So unique! The rooms are basically apartments, huge! Ours was 2-level. We didn't really use the upper floor except to walk out onto our patio (with a perfect view). It's an ideal room for like 6+ people (I think many rooms are the same way, and some are even larger). Awesome location also. But what place *couldn't* be a great location? Bisbee is so nice and cozy that it's fun to leave the car in the parking lot the whole time you're there, which we mostly did. Also, the lady checking you in is really sweet :) read more

What good fortune that the first place we stopped at in Bisbee was booked, and even better fortune that the owner would call around for us, eventually securing us a room at the Gym Club Suites. Forget about the idea of a hotel room. This is a converted YWCA building in which the entire interior has been made into apartments. We got one in the rear with a little patio (good for me as a smoker), fully appointed kitchen, spacious living room and bedroom. The hostess was an absolutely delightful woman, there when you needed her but not overbearing in any way whatsoever. The location couldn't be any better either, if you want to hang around town, walk any of the numerous paths or dine locally. Highly recommended read more

I know that when road tripping to smaller towns, it sometimes hard to find unique and affordable accomodations. I prefer to stay at local hotels or inns instead of the usual Holiday Inn or Days Inn. I was very lucky and happy to find the Gym Club Suites. My boyfriend and I stayed in Room 103. Our room was like a residential loft. Huge room, lofted king size bed, full kitchen, living room with 3 couches and a flat screen tv. We received all of this for only $78. This was their summer special, but typically throughout the year, room start at $85. This is definitely a steal compared to staying at the Copper Queen Hotel or Lamore Inn. Granted there's history there, but their rooms start at around $120 and all you get is room little room with beds and a small bath. Gym Club Suites is in the middle of town. The hotel is off the main street, but within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The next time I go down to Bisbee, I will definitely stay at the Gym Club Suites. read more

Pluses: * Great location - around the corner from the Copper Queen * Spacious loft-style rooms (in our case at least; at the mid-range price point we got a full kitchen with utensils and two beds--this would be good for a family with children * Good service - the owner/manager was really nice and the two bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived was a nice touch (in Arizona you get thirsty quickly if you go hiking) * Parking is easy - across the street; you can have a view of your car if you're paranoid * Fans and air conditioner in the room (ours at least) Minuses * $100/night seems like a lot to me for Arizona but Bisbee is a unique place and the value was commensurate * You have to pay when you arrive - might be a hassle if your plans change * No outdoor patio (I didn't have a chance to ask but it doesn't look like you can access the 2nd floor deck) Overall This is a great place to stay for people with a mid-range budget who like to self-cater. Absolutely perfect little getaway. We stayed in Bisbee for just one night. First let me say that Angel was attentive in every way. With her responsiveness to my email and just her friendliness at checkin. She helped in any way she could. Plus at the end of our stay ... I must have forgotten my pair of shorts in the room ... Well some magic gnome must have found them and left them for me by my car ;) The room was very cute! We stayed in room 402 - ravens nest. You do have to walk up one flight of stairs to get there. But if you're walking in Bisbee you know the whole town is made up of stairs so this really wasnt a stretch. Walked in and it was like an appt with a loft and a private balcony. This place has everything you need ... Kitchen / extra pillows / towels / sample lotions and shampoo in case you forgot yours. This is a cute boutique type hotel. Definitely older ... but everything there is ... so i wouldnt want anything different. It was like stepping into a different world once you pass through the tunnel on the drive up. Stay here. Ask for the suite on the second floor. It's amazing. Two stories and a veranda overlooking the mines of Bisbee. Are you serious!?!? We walked through the tiny front door and were amazed. My wife and I stayed upstairs with my sister in a separate upstairs room, while my Dad stayed downstairs in another bedroom. This place might as well have been the Friends apartment. It was so huge and spacious and comfortable. My only gripe is they need to fix the blinds in that room. We put them up (which was easy), but when we wanted to go to bed later, we couldn't get them to go down. It felt like we were going to break them. Very spacious rooms at a decent price conveniently located next to a parking lot. If you don't mind giving up the daily maid service in exchange for competitive prices and spacious quarters then the gym club suites might be the place for you. It is located right next to a parking lot almost in the center of town once we got checked in my wife and I were able to walk everywhere and not even worry about driving and finding parking. read more

Fantastic find in Bisbee. This is a full-on furnished apartment with pots/pans/dishes and on-site laundry. Our huge room was on the third floor and had a dozen windows overlooking beautiful old town Bizbee. I got a room last minute for $100 and was thrilled with the location and the overall experience. (the name? it was a YMCA 100-years ago). Bonus One: Free Wifi / Bonus Two: Several people could easily share one of these suites. read more

It could accomodate 4 with the sleeper sofa on the upper level. A balcony overlooked the town. The bathroom was modernized and worked well. Stayed here multiple times now - each in a different room. Each room is unique and solid, friendly Bisbee kitsch. Some rooms have king-sized beds, or lofts, or outdoor decks, or require a walk up steps. Free WiFi that works. Clean and efficient. No excess frills, unnecessary luxury, maid service, or unwanted intrusions. Check out couldn't be easier - just remember to drop the keys in the box on the way out. Great location - close to main st, the copper queen, and excellent stair climb hikes into Bisbee's back streets and hills. Sometimes the location is too good and you might hear late night revelry. For those RARE nights bring earplugs, as it just goes with the turf. If you muff the arrival time without warning, I could see how it could become problematic to check-in, so It really is best to arrive during the stated check-in hours. read more

Overpriced for what it delivers. Yes, it has interesting rooms with plenty of space, and it's location is excellent provided you can find parking. However your check-in window ends at 7pm, which is hardly compatible with five-star service. Two of us stayed in Ste 402, which lacks any windows save for the door from the loft to the deck, and while we were comfortable in there, that comfort ended during showers after a day of local hiking. The hot water heater is about the size of your average can of corn & simply can't handle two people. I have no idea how this suite can accommodate the claimed four guests max. With some more design thought from the customer's perspective, this could be a serviceable option, but it's simply not worth the rate. read more

My room was nice it was clean and I had a nice deck that I could see the mountain side room had a full kitchen the guy said it was one of his favorite rooms it was room 303 and cost $135 . We spent 3 night in the suite 201 and was a great experience...Very clean and well equiped...from kitchen gadgets to pillows and towels, complementary bottled water and coffee...Our suite is the smaller in the building and still huge (think in an apartment) and i fell in love with the high cellings and windows...the location is great, close to St Elmo Bar, Copper Queen Hotel, Santiagos, and all the interesting places in Bisbee...they have a good size tv and free wi fi internet...And very cheap...a ready to go back for a full week... read more

A decent place, a bit on the "worn" side. We decided to stay here because we could fit 6 people comfortably in their large suite. Comfortable may have been a stretch, however, as the futon had to accommodate two adults and the mattresses on the beds were really bad. Location is nice. Bring air freshener as the hallways and rooms were musty. We left the windows open despite it being a bit chilly just to get the fresh air. Yes, I know it's over 100 years old but not what we'd hoped for. We'd previously stayed at the Shady Dell and loved it. Had a couple new folks along with us this time that weren't convinced about a "trailer" stay. After this, I'd insist on going back to Shady Dell or possibly another B&B or hotel that is a bit more well-maintained. read more

It's a pretty cool place in a cool little town. Definitely centrally located to the downtown, which is very walkable. The rooms are more like the apartment you may have rented in college, complete with kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and bathroom, and cheap furniture and stained carpets. It's not luxury by any means but you could hole up in there with a bunch of your friends and really travel cheap. read more

My family and I stayed at the Gym Suites for the first time to celebrate July 4th . The suite was very large with a up stairs and down stairs with a huge porch . The suite had two rooms and a bathroom up stairs and one bedroom with a bathroom down stairs, living room and dinning room with a large kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils. Refrigerator and stove also dishwasher. Walking distance to every thing. We did not even have to drive for the 3 days we were there. We will definitely be coming back!!! read more

We've been to this hotel for five years running now. It's our preferred hotel to stay at. The staff are always incredibly nice. The suites are eclectic and clean, which is perfect for us. They have a full kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of beds and room for a lot of guests. Plus it's in the middle of everything, so the walk back and forth to the hotel is always doable. The price is always right as well. We look forward to next year when hopefully we come for the Sidepony music festival! read more
