My birthday surprise involved staying at the El Dorado Suites Hotel, and I couldn't have been happier! When you stay here, you feel like you're at home. It's a very cozy, wholesome location that you can spend the day lounging in- once you're done exploring the town, of course. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite on the ground floor; it had a decently sized kitchen & living room, along with a front balcony that allowed me to sit on the porch by the main entrance. The kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies, a microwave, fridge (w/ a Brita filter) & a coffee machine. The living room included a small, electric fireplace that worked well in keeping the area toasty in January. There was also a sink that was placed outside the bathroom, so someone can wash their hands while another person does more private matters separately. The bedroom had a King-sized mattress, and a door that led to a backyard where you can sit while looking at a painting of 'Virgin de Guadalupe.' When you enter the hotel, you're more than likely to not encounter any staff, since they leave everything you need for your stay in a slot on a large counter. You can't miss this spot; it is to the right when you first walk in- passed the staircase. If you do need help for any reason though, the office is right next to the counter labeled, "STAFF ONLY." This was a new way of doing customer service for me, which I really liked, and I hope to find other hotels that can manage this system. The location is beautiful and gives a sense that you're not in a bustling city like Los Angeles, but a more relaxed vibe that some people may long to have back, before the days where taking selfies became the norm. It's almost like the townspeople know each other as good friends, as you hear their laughter from the hotel, and the guitar music they play at local bars. Bisbee is known as a town revived by hippies, so that's a big part of its charm. You can watch a comedy show, visit the historical museum, go on a ghost tour, or explore the mountains at the Queen Mine Tour- all within walking distance! I couldn't find much wrong about the hotel or Bisbee in general, except for one major thing...those darn streets! Specifically, I'm talking about the street you have to drive up to park by the hotel. If you plan to drive here, then get ready for some narrow pathways. I was always worried being in the car and another vehicle would be driving the opposite direction. Don't be fooled by those "two-way street" signs, those paths are NOT capable of having two cars on one road. When I left the hotel, I ran to the bottom of the street to make sure nobody would driving up to block our car. The difficulty driving to the hotel can be a hinderance, so I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have serious issues walking up & down hills or anxiety over fighting over a slim street. Otherwise, if you're looking for a break from this busy world of ours, then going to Bisbee and staying at the El Dorado Suites Hotel will ease your nerves and let you enjoy the simple things in life. read more

This place is simply wonderful! So comfortable- everything you could need and in a perfect location! The owner is lovely and made us feel so welcome. The porch is a perfect place to watch the sun go down behind the mountain. Love having the kitchen and living room to spread out. Pup friendly and cozy. This is our go-to hotel in Bisbee! Oh- and don't forget to add the margarita package!! So worth it!! Tequila, mixer (try the habanero!) fresh limes on a cutting board with coarse salt for the rim! Great stay! Rustic 1915 miner's apartments on the lip of the canyon forming brewery gulch. Great vistas of the gulch and historic Bisbee. The rooms are actually self-contained apartment suites, each with parlor, full kitchen and one or two separate bedrooms. Each has a spacious covered porch and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon. Even though the building and layout is Victorian period, the amenities are modern along with cable TV and WiFi. The only cautions I would make that could be issues for some is that there is very limited parking at the hotel, though there is ample free parking below in brewery gulch. And with the on-site parking, each space can present challenges, especially with larger cars and trucks. The other comment is while the are incredible views of the gulch and you are "right there", being a canyon and a historic entertainment district, it can get noisy, especially with the echo from the rock walls of the canyon. Most rooms are set back and we haven't found this a problem in multiple stays. read more

It's in the details! Check in went smoothly and we were able to adjust our accommodations for an unexpected change (1 less traveler). Rooms are spacious (think apartment), clean, and well appointed. I was in Room 1 and the website pictures are accurate (and even better in person). Our stay was only one night, but an extended stay would have been very comfortable. On-site parking is fantastic (and rare for area) and the elevated views of Bisbee were great. Pitcher of filtered water (already in fridge) and half and half (given at check in) for morning coffee. Cute little spot! The building used to be an apt/condo complex so the rooms are perfect for people who prefer a bit extra space. This is a good find for all manner of traveller. There are a lot of other nice B&Bs in Bisbee, but they are simply not an option if you have kids. El Dorado is a bit off the main street, but well in walking distance of places. The check-in and staff are super nice and suites are in an older building (so expect some old building quirks) but very clean. Rooms are a little drafty for me, but there's very comfortable bedding to keep you snug at night. Prices are on the high side, but not out of the norm for this area. read more

I love this place and wanted to highlight some of the exceptional features. The hotel is located close enough to all the night life but just above the city noise. Plus, they provide a very upscale noise canceling machine. It worked so well that I looked up the manufacturer and purchased one for home use. When we arrived two of the guest had traveled from the Grand Canyon. They traversed AZ through many landmark areas. Everyone needed clean laundry and a hot shower. The hotel provided free laundry area and supplies. The host even provided free cream for our morning coffee...I mean real cream! We stayed in a two bedroom and kept warm with the cute fireplace in the morning. The living area was great for having a cocktail before heading out to dinner in Bisbee. I would definitely recommend Eldorado. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the hotel is adorable. Thank you. read more

Been here a few times with family and your standard poodle. The staff has been wonderful, we love the location and it's nice they have two bedroom with full kitchen options. At night , depending on the unit it can be noisy with the band down the hill so request a unit with rooms in the back. Overall we love this place and will likely be a go to for my family when we visit the area. read more

Located just a tiny bit up the hill from the main drag best gem of a hotel should be on anyone's shortlist. These hotel rooms are really like charming condos. Ours look like it had been recently renovated. We were able to stay on the first floor because it was pet friendly. We had a huge Terrace area and access to the back patio from our rooms. They are nicely appointed, great lemons, wonderful bath products and we found the beds to be comfortable. It was nice that our room had a small kitchen and living room which we really enjoy relaxing in. The bathroom has a charming clawfoot tub which unfortunately is atrocious to shower in due to low water pressure. But if you're into baths it would be spectacular. Also note there is a bar/club that play loud music until about 10 PM at night. Even though the room supplies air plugs they won't really drowned out the music. But as it stopped at 10 PM we couldn't complain too much. But if you're an early sleeper it might not be the place for you. The staff at the hotel was absolutely outstanding. Bent over backwards to answer questions and even let us check in early as we had our poodle puppy and it was hot outside. I really like this place and we definitely consider staying there again. I only wish the showerhead better water pressure. But as our stay was so overwhelmingly positive I still have to give this place five stars! read more

This hotel is amazing! The owners made it a modernized, cozy little place like a small apartment! We had a bedroom, living room , kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is a full one with an electric stove, full sink, all appliances and large refrigerator. Out back is a very quaint patio and next to it are washers and dryers. The bathroom has an antique claw footed tub shower. All the decor is elegant and quality. The owner, Lisa, is very nice and you'll feel like you're visiting family. All at a fair price for such a large suite. Plenty of room for two couples. You can do a virtual tour of every room on their website. Be aware that there is no elevator in the three story building. The room could more appropriately be described as a condo, due to the layout of a full kitchen, and homey amenities. But with all the convenience of a hotel with daily cleaning, and tiny soaps. The coffee was fantastic! With a sample of the local roaster, and everything you'd want to add in, including honey sticks. The views were spectacular. The other guests were also a pleasure. We felt secluded, but also very close to all the action of downtown. It was nice to be able to go on a hike and come back to the room on our way back before heading to dinner. I liked that the El Dorado Suites was located above the town. We could open the windows and hear the local bands playing, and stand out on the balcony to see where we wanted to explore next. read more

Wonderful Bisbee stay! Loved this place.....the spacious rooms are incredible and the office so inviting and welcoming. "Tam" was so sweet and even provided a cute and appreciated bottle of half and half for our coffee. My only reason for four stars is horrible (!!!!) noise from the bar (Elmo's?) across the street. We wondered why earplugs were provided on the nightstands....soon found out! I'm sure there's nothing the hotel can do and not sure of the noise ordinance in Bisbee but the music (??? really doesn't qualify as music....it's some sort of deafening metal banging) continued beyond midnight. The hotel isn't responsible for this horrible racket and the place is a delight....truly. read more

Excellent stay! Very impressed with this hotel! Amazing views from veranda of all of Bisbee! Great place to have some drinks watching the sunset and great place to have some coffee in the morning. Very impressed with the room size. Stayed on the 3rd floor and the stairs were not an issue. Bisbee is all stairs and wakling up and down hill, so what's a couple more stairs to an excellent view. Corner room extra private and extra windows make it sunny and give you more views. Both bedrooms were large and the addition of having a kitchen and living room that were separate were nice to have. They definitely took some thought about providing extras and the little touches from umbrellas by the front door to sanitizing wipes, a night light, ear plugs and a white noise machine in the rooms. The rooms were quiet and they were not needed, but a nice touch if someone is a light sleeper. Check in/out was easy and the parking was amble. Everything was in wakling distance. It was actually just fun to explore the rooms and what was behind the next door (how did they have so many big closets in 1914??) Would stay here again and highly recommend to others! Lastly the best part I almost forgot... no smoking!!! Not just in the rooms, but on the veranda too!! Thank you for not letting 1 smoker stink it up and ruin the fresh breezes and views for everyone! We have just returned from our 2 day getaway to Bisbee AZ. What a great hotel this little gem is! Our comfortable apartment (#8) was so inviting-- with all the comforts of home. The owners knew it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary & upgraded us to #8 with the King size bed. They took time to leave a personal Anniversary greeting. Such a sweet gesture! My wife, daughter, and I decided to stay here for one night during memorial day weekend. Despite being little pricey for the area (although this may have been because we made our reservation last minute), the accommodations were much better than what we expected. Very clean, homey, and has a spectacular view of the town. It's also convenient that most everything is in walking distance of the hotel. So glad we decided to here this visit to Bisbee. The rooms are spacious and clean. We were on the second floor, no elevator. Nice living room, large bedroom comfy bed, nice linens and good pillows. There is a porch in the front and back. Walk-in closet. Bright kitchen, good WiFi. Ample supply of bathroom towels and nice toiletries. They tried to stay in the decor of the early 1900's. Let me start with saying the Suite was clean, stocked and in good condition. The problem I had was the site says no reserved parking as first-come, first served. Saying that they did have reserved for other guests. The parking is "just steps away" Failed to say down very steep and if count right 47 steps. Without being informed of that, I recently had a medical procedure that makes walking and steps difficult. The shower is an old claw foot type type with high sides. There is no sort of stabilizing handle and with the slickness of the tub very dangerous. The water flow of the shower was so low, I couldn't even wash my hair and I don't have much of it. I know the cancellation policies but felt very mislead with the accommodations that we left even though we paid for 2 nights, we left after 1. Very much not recommended! read more

Our third floor suite was beyond our expectations! We wondered would it be hot on 3rd floor? Not at all, the AC was wonderful, plus multiple celing fans! The bed was so comfy and the bedding was top quality. 2 walk in closets! The third floor offered amazing views from the front balcony overlooking the charming hillside town, and since I guess one balcony is not enough, there was also a back balcony above the private back patio. A full comfy living room with 3 big windows offering terrific views, a full, well appointed kitchen, wonderful local coffee provided. Loved the sleek bath, with vanity separate from commode and claw foot tub. Finally, Lisa and her staff could not be nicer! Made us feel so welcome. We can't wait to return! read more

I loved staying here for a number of reasons. What comes to mind first is that my suite was roomy and comfortable with a great view of bustling old Bisbee and the surrounding hills from the front (shared) porch. I was on the third floor in the corner one-bedroom unit number 12. As others have mentioned, it's a short steep climb up narrow stairs. The quiet bedroom is to the rear (with its own shared porch) and is connected to the living room via the spacious and well equipped kitchen. Terrific coffee is provided and if you cared to, you could whip up any sort of meal from the simplest to the more elaborate. While the place is old and the suite has a few scuffs, (part of the charm) everything was clean and in good repair. It took me (and the GPS) a moment to find the place up on the side of the rather narrow OK Street, but once I arrived, parking was easy on the side of the building and all was well. The woman who owns the place is informative, intelligent and delightful to chat with. I could have sat on the porch for hours with her. I very much enjoyed my choice of hotel and would certainly return. If I had to make a suggestion: replace the old bathroom fan. That said, this is a terrific place and I highly recommend it. And an amendment: I stayed here on my own and realized only afterward that suite 12 has two bedrooms!...Hilarious to me that I didn't open the door near the bathroom that leads to the front facing (town side) second bedroom. I just assumed it was a connector to the adjacent suite. So I can't comment on that bedroom other than to say I thought it was a good value with one bedroom so, with two, even more so! read more

Excellent ... thoughtful attention to detail. There are for example, makeup remover wipes, full ice trays in the fridge, ear plugs by the bed... Literally like an apartment with a separate bedroom and a covered porch in both the front and rear. It's located right next to Bisbee Brewing Co ... There is also a special lot (gated) just for motorcycle parking. Make sure to book before 6pm as the office closes at that time. If you arrive late they will leave a key in an envelope for you. This is such a charming hotel. I booked this for a co-worker when he had to work nearby early last year and after hearing his review, I had to check it out when I went down to Bisbee for a weekend in January. Everything from the customer service to the room was lovely. The views are gorgeous. The location is perfect - within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants & bars :) Will definitely be back! I recommended this place to a friend last month and she loved it, too! The only *teeny-tiny* issue is that the hot water ran out during my shower. I don't think I was in there for more than maybe 10 minutes. But that still isn't enough to give this place less than 5 stars. read more

I've already written a review for my stay at this hotel during Easter, but this December I had a return visit. My Wife's company Christmas party was hosted in Bisbee and all the co-workers stayed at the Eldorado Suites. Once again we were welcomed by the warm hospitality of the staff. Check in was a breeze. We were given our keys within 5 minutes of walking onto the property. The room was again, amazing. So spacious and "homey". Im told that every suite is a 2 bedroom, which works very well for friends traveling together. My wife and I stayed with another couple and their child and the space was very adequate for our size. The floor plan is great too, none of the bedrooms share walls so no problems sleeping if you're roommates are morning people, we didn't hear a peep. The location of the hotel is perfect too. You get a wonderful view of the town from any level of the 3-story hotel. This time we decided to go on the "Cross" hike which is up to the top of a mountain with a beautiful cross and memorial area. The front desk was very helpful in getting us to the trailhead. I believe that the management mentioned that the hotel is under new ownership and that more great things are coming.
