Nice place to stop for lunch after walking around Fisherman's Village. It's located upstairs beside Harpoon Harry's. Service was a bit slow for a party of 4 but friendly staff that worked as a team. I do highly recommend the Chipotle Grouper Wrap & the sweet potato fries (upcharge). Note that outdoor seating sounds to be best via reservation as they did not allow this request for walk-ins when we went. So I went to this restaurant after staying in the attached local hotel assuming that it would be pretty underwhelming given the relatively large number of "meh" reviews. However, I can happily report that I was very pleasantly surprised with how good our meal was! Our waitress Cindy rocked. She was attentive, friendly, and had a great knowledge of the menu. She steered my mother towards the salmon and myself towards the Captain's Platter. As it turned out, both were excellent choices! Probably the star of all the entrees was the preparation of the salmon- that was really spot on, and the bourbon wasabi sauce they use over it could taste great on a shoe. Other food highlights include a tasty housemade tarragon dressing on the side salad as well as the honey butter for the house bread. Overall they don't seem like big things, but I really feel like they elevated the experience. OMG, the view here is just to die for. However, I felt like the tables and chairs could use some updating if I had to nit pick. I'm slapping five stars up on this joint, and I'm pretty sure next time I make it over to Punta Gorda and return that my stars will remain the same. read more

We had the shrimp appetizer a salad and a grouper wrap. The menu is inaccurate. Their salad does not have heirloom tomatoes,l but a cherry tomato, there is cherry tomatoes in the grouper wrap instead of slices (made hard to eat) and the shrimp is actually wrapped in won ton wrap not Philly dough. Grabbed lunch here before our harbor cruise. It was a nice day, so we sat outside. First in the shade, but that was too cool, so we moved to a sunny table. Wind gusts played havoc with our napkins, and birds scampered about looking for fallen crumbs. Drinks were on point. My bowl of Captains Chowder was delicious, as was my better half's crab cake. I had the Captains Platter (blackened) and my better half had the Coconut Crusted Mahi. My platter could have used a third shrimp and a third scallop to fill me up, and it could have been seasoned more, but it was still good and fresh. One of our group had a roast beef sandwich and another had their traditional hamburger, both were fully satisfied . This place has had its ups and downs over the years, but today's meal was great. This restaurant was clearly not prepared for the number of people they were expecting. We had reservations and were seated 30 minutes later. They were behind on serving the prime rib. People were lined up past the buffet waiting for just for the PR. I get the buffet line was located close to the kitchen but things would have moved more smoothly if they located in a different area and made it accessible from both sides of the table. The green bean casserole looks like green beans in brown gravy. Lastly, the chaffers were not replenished in a timely manner. Have been coming here for years. Stopped in for a drink in December and just getting a chance to write this review. Ordered a martini and a beer. The bartender was clueless. She put vodka into a glass but let it sit for more than 10 minutes with ice. She then strained the ice and the vodka into a another martini glass. The result? A martini so watered down it had to be returned. The bartender exhibited extremely poor organization and time management. I also ordered a craft beer. I We all know that some craft beer is poured i. smaller quantity due to the amount of alcohol or brand; however, the amount in the pour I received differed from other pours of the same beer. My allocation was not even 2/3 of the glass. I asked the bartender top it up. Her response was that that's all I should be getting. I asked her why I was only receiving a shorted 10 ounce pour yet she was pouring the same beer, topping off full pint glasses to give to the waitresses. This made her angry, so she topped off my 10 ounce glass with some foam!!! One of the first times in my life, I didn't leave a tip. After the thousands and thousands of dollars that I've spent at this restaurant, only to come back and experience this type of terrible customer service...they've lost me forever. read more

They had about a dozen fried jumbo shrimp that were really good. I ate one of my dads. The crab cake sandwich was awesome. I was really surprised. I was invited to attend a group valentines dinner here. We were a party of 6, three couples . Our service was good enough, though the server seemed over worked or stressed out- it wasn't the relaxing happy server vibe you get at some spots . Honestly the saving grace to this entire meal was the bottle of wine we got which was delicious. And their hot house bread was great. Starters - dads escargot in cream sauce , kinda gross. I love escargot but was not into these. Fried green tomatoes were loved by all but I didn't try them since there was lots of cheese sprinkled everywhere and I'm allergic. I had a house salad with no cheese, they forgot my dressing so I had to wait for that to come out. Mom like her lobster bisque. Meals / there was only a limited number of options for valentines 2023. Filet or pork chops , no ribeyes or not much options land wise... My meal was the most expensive thing on the menu and it came out super burnt. I tried to eat a burned scallop and it just filed my mouth with that gross burned flavor . Honestly these should have never made it to the table. So I ate my potatoes and asparagus and patiently waited for the server to come check in with us which took a while I may have even had to flag her down. My moms meal was equally burned , please see photos. She is way more hesitant to send her food back so she just ate it which I also found disappointing . Here's a special day, most expensive item on the menu and she ate a burned dish. Eating burned food gives u cancer btw so all I could do is sit there and think about how this meal is really hurting her. I'm committed to not be a people pleaser and to speak up if my food is not good. Especially when it's this expensive . I was brought new scallops that were seemingly less big but also not burnt. I ate them and avoided the red pepper risotto which I asked be substituted. Since I already ate the potatoes , which I liked but they were not very hot- I didn't ask for more potatoes I just worked around the risotto . I did get a piece in my mouth from eating the asparagus and found it very toothy- like very Al dente. This is not how risotto is suppose to feel when you bite it. I had an amazzing risotto from Antoine's on my bday and this just spoiled me to no end. My partner's filet was smothered in creamy sauce which we both agreed would have been better on the side as it ruined the filet seared crust. The actual filet was cooked to order, medium rare and tasted great. My dad and partner loved their helping of double mashed potatoes instead of veggies. Overall dessert was kinda disappointing. I yearn for a restaurant that offers simply sorbet options to finish the meal with a light dairy free bite. We tried the pie and the fondue. Neither was especially great for $10 I wouldn't order the dessert again. Finally the Decor was dated. Like really old carpets and tables . Old carpet is a gross pet peeve of mine. The inside just seemed old. We were seated behind a pillar so didn't really have any view of the sunset. If you go to this restaurant, it's probably for the view. I recommend getting a much better table than we had to make the meal more enjoyable. Additionally after the sun set and the place is complete dark it seemed even more dated .
