You may remember The Candy Store's first incarnation, in Piccadilly Arcade a few years ago; well, now they've reopened in City Arcade, just behind New Look on Corporation Street, with a bigger, better and shinier store that's filled with handpicked items from the best streetwear brands in the world.
The store is plush with neon signage, dark floors and a lounge area by the changing rooms. It's well fitted with just enough shelving and rails to showcase these carefully selected tees, hoodies, jackets, caps and crews from brands such as Mishka, Carhartt, DTA, HUF and Crooks & Castles.
The store also has a small range of womenswear; mainly tees but if they had more garments I probably would have added an extra star.
Prices range from around £15 for a girl's tee to around £200 for a men's jacket but there are always some items on sale.
All in all The Candy Store is probably Birmingham's coolest independant store and you shouldn't be intimidated to go in and browse because the guys are friendly and there are definitely some bargains to be had that you simply can't find anywhere else. read more
